GGuest UserI must admit I hesitated when booking this hotel for my father and me: it is fairly new and there were still only a few reviews online. We were pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the staff and the quality of the accommodation. Our room 1204 was spacious, nicely decorated, and spotless. The bedding was very comfortable, and the bathroom was fully functional. The hotel is ideally located in the El Hussein and Al-Azhar area, just a few meters from Khan el-Khalili and Al-Muizz Street (a true open-air museum). In addition, within a 15–20 minute Uber ride, you can easily reach many other points of interest. And even though the neighborhood is very lively, El Rashedy Hotel is tucked away in a small side street, away from the noise. We had initially planned to stay from November 17 to 22 and then finish our trip at another hotel in Zamalek, but we loved this place so much that we extended our stay until November 26. A big thank you to the entire team—reception, management, and housekeeping—for their warm welcome, availability, and valuable advice.
GGuest UserPerfect location just across the road from the Museum. The hotel is safe for solo travelers, and there are police officers stationed on the ground floor of the building. Rooms are clean and basic breakfast is served in the room. Be aware of booking any additional services as the manager has the tendency to change the price and request higher price (in my case triple) than the agreed amount at the time of booking. The incident made me feel very uncomfortable as I am not used to being spoken to in a rude/ unfriendly/ border line aggressive manner by men, especially service providers. It did leave a bad impression at the very end of my stay.
GGuest UserThe hotel is well located in the centre of Cairo. If you have to do some sightseeing all day, the rooms are fine for sleeping and that's it. There is not much noise. It has a nice terrace where they serve a good breakfast.
A gem near the Cairo airport for sure. If you have a late arrival or early flight from Cairo airport, this is a good choice if you don't want to shell out ridiculous amounts on the airport hotels. Just a short 15 to 20 min drive from the airport without having to contend with Cairo traffic. The hotel is located in what seems like a residential area but it is very safe. Bonus: if you prefer to travel by metro there is a metro station just a 5-8 minute walk away. Room and common area (including shared kitchen with free drinking water provided) were constantly kept clean. I'm very impressed with how clean they keep the place. My room came with a private bathroom which was located 2 doors down from my room (ie, not ensuite). Just bring a pair of slippers (the hotel does not provide any) and it would be fine to walk around the property. Breakfast was also included and this was simple but tasty. Staff were friendly and the girls at the front desk at check in and check out spoke the best (non-accented) English I've encountered in my entire time in Egypt.
