"I booked the room at around 11 AM on the day of check-in and checked in at approximately 2:30 PM that afternoon. On the booking page, the room type I selected clearly stated it included a ”bathtub,” and I also added a note requesting a non-smoking room, preferably on a higher floor.
Upon arrival, the front desk told me that because I ”booked too late,” the original room with a bathtub was no longer available, so they were going to ”upgrade me to a suite.” However, the room type I initially booked already had a bathtub, so I didn't quite understand what this so-called upgrade actually meant.
Finally, they led me to the 7th floor of an adjoining building, but the elevator only went up to the 6th floor, so I had to walk up the stairs myself. The room's layout, decor, and overall condition were completely different from the photos on the booking page, and it didn't resemble what one would typically consider a suite. The room was noticeably older, with poor wall and floor conditions, and a musty smell. The overall impression was that it was part of an older, separate accommodation building.
I immediately went back downstairs after dropping off my luggage to report the issue, clearly explaining to the front desk that this room was completely different from the photos I saw when booking and asked if I could change rooms after I finished eating.
About an hour later, when I returned, the hotel finally arranged for me to stay in another room on the 6th floor. This one finally had a bathtub, a window, and its decor matched the photos on the booking page. Although the hotel eventually handled the situation and changed my room, it made me even more confused: since there was ultimately a room available that met my original booking conditions, why was I initially assigned to a completely different, old, and musty room in another building?
Additionally, the hotel is located in a very small alley, not on the main road, making it somewhat difficult to find for first-time visitors. The so-called high floor didn't make much of a difference either, as the entire building only has about 7 floors, and the view from the window was mainly of adjacent buildings, with no particular scenery.
The price of this hotel was indeed very cheap, only about NT$800-900 per night, but the entire check-in process made me feel quite uncomfortable. Although the issue was eventually resolved, I believe this problem shouldn't have occurred in the first place, especially since the room type I booked clearly indicated it included a bathtub.
Considering the overall accommodation prices in Vietnam, if I could choose again, I would rather spend an additional NT$500 to stay at a hotel with a more stable environment and better management. Therefore, I personally would not recommend this accommodation."
