"We loved this experience! After travelling from Tokyo that morning and all around Hakone, we were wrecked by the time we got to the accommodation. The hosts offer free collection from the bottom of the cable car. We text them saying we would be arriving in 10 minutes and they had someone waiting for us. The check in was smooth and the hosts are very accommodating, have good English and will do anything they can to help you. We had a room with a Mt. Fuji view who was on show for a few hours. They then brought us in a shuttle to a nearby restaurant and the restaurant brought us back to the accommodation. The accom was very big for the two of us and we found the beds really comfy. We also got private onsen for 30 mins (available between 10-11pm) for only 2,000 yen. In the morning, they dropped us back (again free) to our bus stop. We loved this whole experience and calm back feeling relaxed and revived. Couldn’t recommend more!"

The Sengokuhara Shinanoki Ichinoyu is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Hakone will find that the Sengokuhara Shinanoki Ichinoyu is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel is only 5km from Chokokunomori Station and 76km from Haneda Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. This hotel is located near many of Hakone's attractions including Sengokuhara, Sengokuhara Wetland Plant Community and Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. This Hakone hotel offers parking on site. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"The hotel is easily accessible by bus T or L (bus stop is near the train station Hakone-Yumoto). You can leave your bags in the hotel (check-in hours are limited) and go exploring. The hotel grounds are small, but our comfortable two-story room with its own onsen allowed us to relax in a private setting and recharge after a busy day of hiking in the mountains. I liked the public onsen less, as the contemplation and tranquility were greatly hampered by the noise from the road, which could be heard even late in the evening (the main public transport stops running at 6 pm). It was nice to immerse ourselves in the traditional vibe, wear yukatas, and try Japanese cuisine for breakfast and dinner (we liked dinner better). The waiter was a little awkward (he kept dropping things), but nice. We didn't understand his English very well, but there were instructions in English that helped us figure out how to cook everything. I recommend staying for at least three full days to avoid rushing through everything like we did. Be sure to consider the operating hours of public transportation, as you'll be very dependent on it. The two-day Hakone Pass paid for itself many times over. The open-air art museum was a lasting impression; it's definitely worth a visit!"

"This hotel is truly worth the stay. The room is very spacious and the price is very reasonable. What impressed us the most is that all the furniture and facilities are high quality and still very new, which made our stay extremely comfortable. We traveled with our 1-year-old baby, and the hotel was very thoughtful to prepare some baby amenities for us. That really touched us and made the stay even more pleasant. This is definitely one of the most comfortable and worthwhile hotels our family has stayed in during our trip to Japan. Every room also comes with a private onsen, which made the experience even more relaxing. There is a convenience store just 2 minutes away by car, and it only takes about 20 minutes to drive to Lake Ashi, so the location is very convenient. Overall we are extremely satisfied with our stay. We would definitely come back again next time and stay for even more days."

There's plenty to do nearby, with Hakone Meissen Antique Museum, Shinsenkyo Garden and Hakone Kowakien Yunessun all within a short distance. "20 min uphill hike from Gora station. Or you can take cable train up hill for two stations and walk on flatland for about 8 minutes to hotel. Hotel has shuttle bus. They dropped us off on the way back. You can possibly call to pick you up at Gora station. Trip.com reservation options show you prices for one adult. It's very hard to book for 3 people to stay in one room to save money. I sent a custom request to the hotel exactly this - 3 people in one room. Trip.com charged me $270 and when I got to the hotel, they said I have to pay $300+ more for 2 more people. That was not clearly communicated to me by either Trip.com or hotel. There's a language and cultural barrier. In Japan, you pay per person - not by rooms. They scan your all passports of everyone staying - not just the person who books. With last minute notice, I had no choice but to pay more as other hotels nearby are filled up and we were very tired from 4 hours train transfers dragging our bags plus 8 minutes walk to the hotel. All in all, if trip.com room selections are not a perfect fit, I can't recommend booking this hotel. Custom messages are not recognized. Communication is lacking. You will get charged last minute without any alternatives left. For $570 a night, we could have a way better hotel in Hakone. The breakfast also wasn't memorable and you have to reserve it ahead of time. I would not come back."
