Cheap Hotels in Yamanakako

"I plan to stay two nights near Mount Fuji. I filtered accommodations by positive reviews and found this newly opened lodge. Almost all reviews were good, with not a single negative comment, and when I saw it was run by a Chinese owner, I booked it immediately. The location is super convenient, just a three to five-minute walk from the station. The entire lodge is brand new and spotless, with lots of Chinese calligraphy hanging inside, which made it feel very welcoming. The dining area is quite spacious, equipped with an ice maker, microwave, and instant noodles for purchase. A 7-Eleven is about a ten-minute walk away. The scenery is incredible. I just checked in tonight and I'm really looking forward to seeing Mount Fuji's snowscape tomorrow morning. I'll share photos then. The lighting design throughout the lodge is also very thoughtful, creating a great ambiance. The owner is from Zhejiang, and he's incredibly reliable. When traveling abroad, it's common to lose signal on your phone, so you can only communicate via messages. The owner's replies were quick and his information was accurate, which is truly rare when staying away from home. The room is very spacious and immaculately clean, and the furniture like tables and chairs is still new. But I have to emphasize this! In all my time in Japan, this is the first time I've encountered such a spacious bathroom; I absolutely love it! The kettle, and all bathroom amenities are fully provided, making for a comfortable stay. The lodge also offers vehicle rentals: electric scooters and electric bikes for 2000 yen a day, and regular bicycles for 1000 yen a day, which is excellent value for money! Most outside rentals require scanning QR codes for registration, which is a complicated process and hard to manage. Here, you can rent directly at the front desk, which saves so much hassle. This is a huge plus! This was a self-funded stay, with no cooperation or advertising fees; these are my genuine, heartfelt feelings. If you're a Chinese friend reading this, please give it a like! By the way, my initial thoughts for this review were quite scattered, but I used Doubao (AI) to help organize the sentence structure and logic. All the content is based on my own real experiences. "Hotel Mt Fuji has the best views of Lake Yamanaka and Mt Fuji. It is located high up on a hill and looks down over the lake. Shuttle bus service to and from Yamamakako iriguchi was excellent. The staff in 7 eleven kindly called for me to be picked up on arrival and again on the second day of my stay. The breakfast was the best in the past 2  weeks of my trip. Japanese breakfast is so delicious. The omelette chef was such a perfectionist and each was made perfectly. Staff were particularly helpful and the public baths , there are 2 different locations ,are excellent, both very different. The hotel itself is very old and dated and could do with a renovation. However saying that, the room was very spacious and comfortable. I loved being able to open the window which had an insect screen and have fresh air. The only thing I did not like is that you could not wear your yukata to breakfast. No big deal really. I would highly recommend Hotel Mt Fuji."

"The hotel has an onsite outdoor and indoor Onsen. Our room is 25sq m and spacious. The layout of the room is separated into sleeping area and entrance with basic amenities. This hotel is supposed to be able to view the beautiful Mr Fuji but because it has been raining and cloudy the past few days, we were not able to see Mt Fuji from this hotel but our room faces the great ocean and that was good. The breakfast spread was great with a wide spread of many varieties.  I was hoping for a late night snack of Hot ramen soup as with many Japanese hotels with Onsen but sadly this hotel don’t provide this service."

"Absolutely loved this ryokan! Even though the room only had a toilet and bathing was in the communal bath, it wasn't crowded at all since we visited on a weekday in January. The hot spring was incredibly comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional, not just some afterthought! They were proper Japanese-style meals. For the price, it was an absolute steal! The only downside is that the location is a bit far out, and since we didn't have a car, taking the bus was a bit inconvenient. However, the 30-minute walk to Hirano in the morning to watch the sunrise was absolutely stunning~ Highly recommended!"

"Best hotel ever for a more traditional experience. We got to try pjs They gave us fresh towels every day Got dinner from 711 and stayed in. Just a short walk to see Fuji and try the little boats on the river. The park was also amazing, with all the locals walking their dogs. Bus station is around the corner to get everywhere easily. Didn't try the onsen, wish there was an option for private booking to use it, would definitely pay extra for that. ( Maybe 30min limited booking gap ). Staff really friendly and helpful. Overall very happy with our mini Fuji weekend."

"Decided to stay at Lake Yamanakako for it’s quietness compared to the bustling Lake Kawaguchiko area, and Fuji Yamanakako hotel is the right choice as there is a bus stop right outside the hotel and short walking distance to the lakeside. The tatami style room was neat and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly and uses a mobile translator for conversation. The attached public bath is small but serve its purpose. There are e-bikes and normal bicycle for rental at the hotel. Small eateries are just round the corner. Would recommend for travellers looking for quiet stay near the lake and with a Mt Fuji view from the lakeside on a clear day."

"The price is low and it's convenient to watch the sunrise, so I'd still recommend it. **Location:** It's a 7-minute walk to Yamanakako Hirano no Hama, and 3-4 minutes to Hirano Station, where there's a 7-Eleven right next to it. **Facilities:** No elevator. The room doesn't have a private toilet, mirror, or wall-mounted air conditioner. There's a small heater that blows warm air, but it has a strange smell. The second floor has no heating, so it's quite cold when going to the public restroom. The central fireplace in the lobby on the first floor is a bit warmer. The women's bath on the first floor is small but has hot water, which was very comfortable after soaking in the middle of winter. However, after bathing, I noticed my body smelled strongly of disinfectant. **Breakfast:** When checking in, I chose 7:30 AM for breakfast. After watching the sunrise, I had enough time to come back and pack my luggage. It was about 70% filling, but you can add more rice yourself. You need to return the tray after eating. **Environment:** The entire building had a strong gasoline smell, which was the hardest part for me as I dislike the smell of gasoline."

"This place is very close to Lake Yamanaka, and its off-street location makes it very quiet. If you're driving, you'll need to set your GPS to Yamanakako Post Office. The staff, especially the younger woman, was very polite and could communicate in both English and Mandarin. The whole place is a traditional Japanese ryokan with a bit of history. Don't expect it to be brand new, but it's clean and tidy, making for a comfortable stay. We booked room 102 with a garden, and we were so lucky to see a clear view of Mount Fuji on our first day! It was truly amazing to see it from our room. The only minor inconvenience was that you have to reserve a time slot for bathing. There are two private onsen rooms outside the guest rooms. When you reserve a slot, it becomes your private bath, complete with a shower area and a small indoor tub. They also provide a full range of amenities, including cleansing oil and facial wash. Overall, it's still a great choice! Highly recommended."

"A short drive from Lake Yamanaka, we checked into here for the night—mainly because we wanted to explore the area and try the region’s famous Hōtō noodles. We chose a traditional Japanese futon room for the experience. That meant laying out our own beds—slightly clumsy, a bit of trial and error, and a lot of laughing when we realised there’s no “redo” once everything’s set. The weather had a chill to it, so the onsen became the highlight. Stepping into the hot water while the cold air lingered outside—it slowed everything down in a way you don’t realise you need. Nothing extravagant, nothing overly planned. Just the four of us, figuring things out as we went. Looking back, it wasn’t the hotel or even the lake—it was those small, unpolished moments that made the night feel complete."

"The advantage was that the room was spacious, with plenty of room! The entire room and bathroom were clean and tidy! The downside was that the young Japanese staff member at the breakfast restaurant was extremely rude. He stood there glaring at us, practically forcing us to leave the restaurant by 9 AM! Honestly, I understand needing to leave on time, but this staff member didn't understand that guests don't constantly check their watches while eating breakfast! Our table was completely cleared except for a coffee paper cup, and we hadn't even gotten up to leave yet when that staff member rudely announced that they were closing, then glared at us fiercely! Absolutely terrible attitude! On another note, most of the hotel staff are Indian foreign employees, so there were no issues with English communication!"
