"The hotel is not bad, clean, good service attitude"

"The room was good- clean, well equipped, + biscuits provided as well as tea and coffee! Can't fault it. Can't comment on the breakfast (included in room price) as its not available at weekends until after 8.30 and I had to be elsewhere by then. From 7.00 in the week. The thing that let the place down was the parking - or more the point , the lack of it. There must be 40 rooms but only space for 4 cars! All the other car parks around and there are plenty, had max 4 hour stay limit signs on display. Rather than risk a parking charge / fine I found some on-road parking 5 mins walk away and hoped the car would be still there in the morning (it was). If you want a chance for the 4 places you'll need to get there early afternoon - its bedlam there in the evening with the other pub and food outlet customers vying for space, well it was on Friday and Saturday evenings."

"Reception staff very friendly and helpful. When I tried to check in the staff didn’t have my name but only my friends even though I was the one that paid for the room? Bar food was nice enough but quite expensive over £18 for 1 panini, 1 chips, soft drink & a tea! Room was clean and tidy and very quiet but unfortunately didn’t have the best sleep as bed was really uncomfortable, springs coming through the mattress and really lumpy hard pillows also which was a shame! Stayed there as music event was on at the Colchester Park and looked like it was the nearest hotel to it but walking there was a bit tricky as had to go across a main road and through a dodgy alleyway behind an industrial building which wasn’t signposted after the event had to walk the long way around through the town to get back to the hotel. "

"I lived in the town before and used this pub only stayed 1 night food and beer excellent and all staff very friendly it's in the best location if I am ever in Chelmsford again would be my first place to call on"

"The room is very spacious...and the hotel is in the middle of a very wide grass...you can drive or do the bus to arrive...the hotel at night is very beautiful...the quiet environment can also see a lot of stars in the sky...the meal bar can watch football games"
