The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The ambiance was calm and modern, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the property. Check-in was quick and seamless, and the staff were friendly, professional, and always happy to help. Considering the quality of service, comfort, and location, the price was very reasonable and offered great value for money. The hotel is located in a fantastic location, just opposite a shopping mall. I had a pleasant stay here. The only cons are: The toilet is a bit run down. Due to the apartment being so well located, it means that the pubs beside it can get a bit noisy at night, especially on the weekends.

The hotel was accommodating to families. The staff that cleaned our rooms was so nice. They were very friendly and kind to all of us. The restaurant staff was also very friendly and kind and their food was delicious. The view was also amazing. We even got to see the USS America ship pulling into the Sydney Harbor. Such a great experience at The View Sydney.

After a 12hr flight the last thing you want to do is self check in! I can not beleive a 5 star hotel with a name like Shangrila is now using self check in terminals so impersonal. The concierge guys were excellent and they only real people I got to engage with. Room is dated but Harbour views are fantastic. We did not have breakfast due to early morning flight the next day. Note: Steep 7 minute walk down to the harbour not good for elderly people The indoor pool was poor with a heavy chlorine smell not what I was expecting so I did not swim in it. I am a member but probably would not stay here again. By Contrast the Shangrila in Chendu China was very nice. Aslo have stayed a number of times in Surabaya both are dated but beautiful service & facilities

Conveniently located in the heart of the CBD, near Circular Quay, it was easy to access the key attractions like the Sydney Opera House. The rooftop bar, Aster, also provided fantastic views of the Harbour Bridge. The main draw of this hotel for us was its own indoor carpark as we were renting a car. Valet parking is $89 AUD a night (as of Aug 2025) and there is no option to self-park, but you can enter and exit the carpark as many times as you want. Pricey but generally consistent with the other carpark options in this area. Our room size was pretty big for 2 persons and the room was generally well maintained. We encountered some issues with inconsistent housekeeping e.g. used cups not being replaced, towels not being replaced, but they were generally minor and often quickly rectified after a call to reception. Would recommend if you would like to stay in this part of Sydney.

The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily. For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful. Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too. The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. And this was the only down side I can think of, other than that, I had a perfect stay!

The hotel is nicely situated and near to 2 supermarkets (Coles, Aldi) which is helpful for long term stayers like me. The indoor pool, sauna and also the gym was properly maintained and has good amount of equipment within. Housekeeping was frequent and standards of cleaning is good. A familiar place that I have spent more than 3 months staying over different time periods.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and the Royal Botanic Garden. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the room view was disappointing. We booked a 'Skyline King Room,' but there was no skyline visible at all; we just looked out onto old, dilapidated rooftops. The room also felt quite small.
JJulesTI’ve stayed in many hostels before and understand you sometimes get what you pay for, but my stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central was disappointing.
We booked a private room for three with a shared bathroom. The room had a strong “slept-in” smell which seemed to come from the actual pillows and bedding rather than the sheets. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty, and during our five-day stay I only saw them cleaned once.
The kitchen on the first floor is far too small for the number of guests. Fridges and cupboards were completely full, and with only a few cooktops, sinks and microwaves it’s very difficult to cook or find a place to eat.
The hostel is very focused on partying, with events like pizza nights and free drinks in the kitchen area. It’s also quite noisy, with partying and heavy doors slamming day and night, so don’t expect much sleep.
Considering how expensive Sydney is, this place still felt overpriced. The building is run down (cracked sinks), beds have thin mattresses, and we even saw a large cockroach one day. Staff simply said, “this is Australia.”
There’s also no ramp at the entrance, so heavy luggage has to be carried up the stairs.
The only real positive is the great location.
GGuest UserThis area near the airport has become much more developed since I was here eight years ago. This hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it even had a simple kitchen for preparing basic meals. The only downside was that after I checked in, I got some bites on my face.
NNaiyougegewuSydney Central YHA is the best-equipped and most pleasant hostel I've ever stayed in! I was in a 4-bed female dorm. There are power outlets right by the bed, facing downwards, so if your adapter isn't tight, it might fall out. However, there are USB and USB-C ports directly, which is super convenient. Each bed also has a reading light and a blackout curtain, offering great privacy.
The kitchen and dining area are huge, with a complete array of cooking utensils that are very practical and exceptionally clean; everyone is very considerate. There's a large supermarket, Coles, right near the hostel, making it easy to buy groceries. During my stay, I cooked for myself every day – it was delicious, hygienic, and affordable.
The best part is its location right by Central Station. Trains, buses, and all kinds of transport converge here, offering excellent connectivity and making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere.
Accessing the lifts, rooms, and communal bathrooms all require card access, ensuring top-notch security.
PPengtaaleinasiThe Crown Tower in Sydney was an absolutely perfect experience! Unobstructed panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge perfectly framed. The high-altitude infinity pool was stunning, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and equipped with top-notch facilities. The service was efficient and incredibly attentive. The dining was excellent and getting around was a breeze. It truly boasts the city's best viewpoints, offering an unparalleled sense of luxury. Without a doubt, it's Sydney's premier hotel – a definite must-book!
GGuest UserWe booked W sydney months in advance with breakfast included and is worth it . Food choices are plenty during breakfast and can order different eggs style and cooking preparation during breakfast and can order different hot or cooled selection of drinks as well. Hotel is clean and location is near china town ,paddys market , and harbour easily accessible to townhall in a walkable distance of 7-10 mins away. There is a fireworks show on saturday night that lasted 5-7minutes.. There are lots of restaurants around the area and ice cream shops as well . There is even a park at the back of the hotel and a playground for kids. I highly recommend this hotel. There is 2 pool in the hotel at 22nd floor and 29th floor . The hotel is beside Imax cinema .
YYujideyuCleanliness: So-so, lacking in detail. There was still dust on the hairdryer cover.
Facilities: The bedding was way too soft, not ideal for Chinese people. When one person lies on it, it just sags.
GGuest UserGreat location, breakfast could have better selection and pastries could be more fresh. Other than that room was great, gym was nice, lobby was cozy
Ggu****The hotel's location is excellent. Within a 5 to 10-minute walk, you can reach Chinatown, Paddy's Market, Darling Square, Darling Harbour, and Central Station. The room size was adequate, and it was clean and tidy upon arrival, with daily housekeeping being prompt and thorough. The front desk service was also on point.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks:
1. The lighting in the lobby area isn't great; it's generally too dim and looks like it needs a refurbishment. Hopefully, they'll update it soon.
2. We believe our room was in the newer extension of the hotel. There's a noticeable difference in floor levels between the two buildings, and the connection between them is entirely stairs, which is really inconvenient when you have luggage. This also needs an update.
3. The flooring under the carpet in our room was bulging in places and requires maintenance.
3300343****The front desk service was excellent, and the Singaporean staff at the bar and the Hong Kong staff at the concierge were incredibly helpful! The local concierge also assisted with restaurant reservations! It was a wonderful experience! The Korean staff at the front desk were also very helpful!
