"Beautiful hotel with wonderful service. The onsens were well cared for and we had them to ourselves. The views of the mountains and river from the onsen were spectacular. The food was great and transitional to Japan. We loved our the stay in the traditional Ryokan. Probably our best stay of the trip."

"The owner seemed a bit overwhelmed handling everything alone. It was great to experience a Japanese-style accommodation that felt straight out of 'Detective Conan.' The hot spring was also lovely. Although it's an old place, so a slight drain smell is unavoidable, it was still quite clean. It was also very convenient for visiting Kagami-koji the next day."

"This has to be highlight of my Japan trip. The location is exactly where you wish to be if you’re looking to be surrounded by mountains and the outdoor onsen sitting inside in it just make its worthwhile. Also I have to give shout out to Tangerina (I think thats her name) she was just lovely to talk and randomly asked her the fastest way to reach Fujikawaguchiko the next day as it was my next stop and she was giving her 100% to get me detailed information which really helped me in my journey. So yeah if you’re looking this post you’re me and my wife star. Arigato 💙"

"The best hot spring ''hotel'' on the way to Shin-Hotaka that was recommended on Xiaohongshu! It only takes about ten minutes by bus to reach the Shinhotaka Cable Car. After taking the cable car, it is so nice to have dinner and soak in the hot springs. I also experienced the super traditional Japanese duplex! And because there weren't many people when I went, it was very comfortable to soak in the private hot spring! The staff inside are all smiling and the service is super good~! It doesn’t matter if you don’t speak Japanese, they can communicate in English! I can also speak a few words of Chinese haha! ! If I booked breakfast and dinner, I would be asked to go downstairs for dinner/breakfast, which was very delicious traditional Japanese food! I ordered the beef set, and it was indeed Hida beef, a must-try when visiting Takayama. . Highly recommended! The room is large and well-equipped, very suitable for a vacation~! I was very reluctant to leave TvT"

"We enjoyed the peaceful stay at the Ryokan and the liked the quiet surroundings. The private open air onsen was fabulous. The morning walks in the woods behind the Ryokan was great. This was followed by the sumptuous breakfast provided by the Ryokan to start our day of walking the trails which are nearby."

"The best onsen ryokan I’ve ever been to. If I could gatekeep this place, I would! Love every part of it, so zen so clean and quiet. The food is amazing especially the beef. The onsen is amazing, they have public and private indoor and outdoor onsens, you don’t even have to worry about not getting the private onsen slots. They are always available. Love the outdoor onsen the most! I will be back next year :)"

"The dinner was super delicious. The chef has won many awards. The hot spring is like a clear spring in a secret garden. It feels like a paradise. The room is a little simple but very warm. It is very comfortable to stay. Highly recommended!"

"I enjoyed my stay in this hotel . The room is a traditional Japanese tatami room, very spacious for 2 persons with a balcony facing the river and the mountain. Room is just as shown in the photos. The front office staff are very helpful and friendly. They do speak abit of English. Breakfast and dinner were included . Dinner was multi course Japanese meal using seasonal produce . Do advise the hotel a few days in advance if you have any food preferences as they will try to accommodate. Meals very lovely presented . I stayed here 2 nights and dinner menu was different for each night . Hotel is about 20 to 25 min walk from the bus terminal. Best to pack a hand carry bag instead of a trolley bag as certain part of the trail to the hotel is unpaved and muddy after rain . Or check with the hotel for luggage delivery service Hotel also has a 24 hrs indoor and outdoor onsen ! Spacious and well maintained."
