We stayed here because our flight arrived late night and shuttle bus came to the sofia airport after calling the hotel. We prefer to get the shuttle bus without calling (ex. it's better if we can call the bus by app or text etc). However, the driver and all staff were really nice and friendly.
Our train was very early morning so we asked the hotel to prepare our breakfast and it was really good! Thank you.
Our room didn't have bathroom rug.

As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by a uniformed man, who welcomed us to the hotel and took us to the reception desk, having looked after our bags, which were later taken to our room. The lady at reception treated us with great courtesy and efficiency, and therefore, from the outset, we realised we were in a well-run five star hotel with professional and helpful staff. Our bedroom was stylishly decorated in cool shades of grey, with two wide beds, a panoramic window with a view of Vitosha mountain, and the marble bathroom was of a good size, with modern fittings and a lovely walk-in shower. We had booked the Club Room and were not disappointed with the newly opened Club Lounge. They offer refreshments during the afternoon and then ‘happy hour’ from 6-8 pm. We found the service really excellent, with staff keen to help, and spent delightful early evenings having drinks and eating an enticing array of canapés. Breakfasts were also excellent in the Europa restaurant with a wide selection of cooked and cold options from the buffet, and dishes cooked to order such as omelettes and eggs benedict. One last point to mention - we found the Chief Concierge - Todor Goranchovski - most helpful in booking us restaurants and directing us to some notable attractions in Sofia: he was great. The Intercontinental is really a top class hotel and we would not hesitate to stay there again - thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable.

Clean, perfect location, free parking. The beds are a bit hard and it would be better of you guys check whether the bottles of water in the rooms are full; mines were empty.

Some rooms need renovation. Service was great. Breakfast delicious. The location is next to the airport, but getting there is hard, the street on the map which is going there is actually a offroad gravel road. Alternative way is to ho 2 km to sofia and then make a u,-turn. But I still recommended for one night stands close to airport.

It is a very beautiful hotel inside out. What does not make this hotel great is the poor service of at least two sections of the hotel from my personal experience. Number one disappointment is the Beauty Salon. I made an appointment for meniscus at 16:30 on September 22. I showed up on time only to be told by the receptionist that the appointment is at 16:45. I told her that is not true and in fact I confirmed it with her twice. It was apparent that someone cut into the line and from our conversation I know she knew it as well. Yet, she was lying through her teeth that is totally beyond me. The worst was yet to come, I was told when I came down again at 16:45, I had to wait for another 20 minutes. That is the end of the story. Second incident is at the “well known” restaurant Mediterra. To make a long story shot, the Greek style calamari I ordered looked as well as tasted like burned wood log. To the main course “beef cheeks” the only thing I could think about it is what I once tasted on a Lufthansa flight business class section is 10 times better.
Other than that I had a very pleasant stay and the receptionists are extremely friendly and helpful. I should also add the location of the hotel is very convenient and has easy access to all the main attractions.

I booked thinking it would have air conditioning, but it didn't. It was a summer night but luckily it was cool so no problem.
There was a post raising issues with the card for the room key and lights, so I resolved it by inserting another card.
Now you can escape the pain of locking from the inside in the dark.
There was a mysterious hole in the toilet. You can see the piping. I thought it would be better to be invisible here,

I'll start with the positive points first: - I'll start with the positive points first - The minibar and the drinks at the bar are cheap Now the negative points they are effecting mostly the rooms: - The carpet is dirty and the rooms stink. Most probably they never changed the carpet since the hotel was build - The air conditioning was installed later. The hose to dispose the water from the air conditioner goes through a hose into the bathroom and ends above the bathroom floor. this means that the bathroom is always flooded when the air conditioning is on. this is definitely not acceptable. - The room cannot be darkened because the fabric of the curtains is very very thin and translucent. As soon as the sun rises it is not possible to sleep. In my case it was around 05:30AM when the sun came up. This point bothered me the most because I didn't get enough sleep on my business trip. I have visited the hotel Hemus regularly since 2017 when I have not been able to get a room elsewhere. in 2019 they had done major renovations, but I still don't understand what exactly was improved. the points just mentioned above have not been resolved. only the tv was exchanged for a flat screen and the bracket for the old tube tv was removed. Maybe this was the reason of renovation. I hope that someone from the hotel will read this as a general overhaul is urgently needed. Especially with the carpet and the curtains. There's no point in choosing a hotel to relax after a long meeting day and can't even sleep because of the windows that can't be darkened or the smell of the carpet that has never been replaced.

If you could, I would give 0 - because of the hotel, because of the total lack of responsibility from the management, customer experience and customer satisfaction are certainly words that will remain misunderstood by the entire staff of the hotel chain! In short, I booked 3 rooms for foreigners who come on business trip The guests arrived at different times late Sunday night and next morning they all wanted to move out and change hotels due to several issues with the rooms they had. The complaints of all guests from all rooms on two different floors were the same: 1. Problems with hot water - the water in the bathrooms is sometimes hot and sometimes cold and it is difficult to take a bath, constant change between cold and hot water and the inability to adjust it. It was confirmed as a problem by the front desk person. 2. High temperature in the rooms - all guests complained that the rooms were very hot and it was not possible to adjust the temperature. This was also confirmed as an issue that was known to the hotel staff. 3. Poor internet connection - the guests were foreigners and relied on the internet at the hotel but unfortunately it was almost impossible to use. The guests were so disappointed that even after the few hours spent in the hotel (literally under 12 hours) they were unwilling to look at other options that were offered by the front desk and wanted to move out immediately and move to another hotel. The most interesting thing is that for two months now there has been absolutely no feedback from the hotel, no matter how many times I have tried to contact them. In this way, customers are definitely not won.

GGuest UserWe stayed with two young children for 4 nights whilst we attended a wedding in Sofia. The hotel is in a quiet location with parking. The staff on arrival are friendly especially George he made us feel very welcome and helped with our luggage. We stayed in the family room. The room was nice big and spacious. It is in need of a few repairs and upgrades. The sofa is dipped in the middle, the corners of the bathroom are grubby, the bath has jets that need gutting and the door to the balcony is hanging off and doesn’t close properly which is a safety concern. Breakfast is simple and not a lot was out although hot food is made at your request and room service is available. The breakfast staff were lovely. A young man called Alex was very impressive, polite and diligent. Such an asset to the company to have staff like Alex. An incident with the cleaner ruined our time here. We returned to our room to get ready for the wedding that we went to Sofia for to find the cleaners had turned the room upside down. They had pulled the sofa out and the larger lady with short hair yelled at us because there were crumbs from our children eating biscuits. She was very rude and refused to leave so that we could get ready. This made us late for the wedding. And it left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. My husband complained. And it was explained to us that they just want us to keep the room tidy. It was tidy there were just a few biscuit crumbs on the sofa and floor. We paid for house keeping and it was unreasonable of the cleaners to expect to clean already clean rooms. The fact that we were shouted out by the cleaner is outrageous. The lady with the short hair is a liability. You cannot shout and be rude to guests over crumbs on the floor and sofa. I don’t want to penalise the rest of the team for one hostile cleaner. The rest of the staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The outside area is beautiful especially at night. Lots of fairy lights. The staff are easy going and there is a play area in the gardens including a huge trampoline. There is a well which is covered so just beware to watch young children. The pool looks nice but is deep and cold. It would have been nice if it was heated but in September it was too cold to enjoy. Food is good and room service was great. Overall it was a comfortable experience and cost effective.
GGuest UserPros: The hotel design is very modern and clean. The staff are nice and friendly and do everything they can to help you. This hotel is big on sustainability. They don't leave plastic bottles in your room. Instead, you have glass bottles that you can fill up everywhere in the hotel. Every floor has a drinking fountain where you can fill up your bottle.
The food was absolutely amazing. Breakfast is not a buffet. On weekdays, you have to choose between a Bulgarian or a French breakfast. At first, I was disappointed that they didn't have a simple option like an omelet; I went with the Bulgarian option. It was fantastic. Everything was fresh. On weekends, you only have an omelet option, which was also great. For dinner, I got Sea Bass and it was also great! I am fully satisfied with the food served at this hotel. The only criticism I can give is that the breakfast serving window is very small and late (8:30 am to 10:30 am if I remember correctly) and you have to wait for more than usual to get your food.
Cons: The rooms have tile floors, which look cold but are not since I believe they use floor heating. The problem is that they don't offer slippers, which I don't like, since the same tiles continue into the toilet. It doesn't feel clean.
They also don't offer toothbrushes which I would have really appreciated.
I had to unplug the fridge since the compressor made a lot of noise when turning off and on, and I'm a light sleeper.
Overall I would recommend this place if the location suits you, just bring your own slippers and enjoy the food!
My friend and I stayed here for the majority of our stay in Sofia. It was a great location. The hotel is across the street from a beautiful park, it's about a 7 minute walk to a promenade filled with shops and restaurants. It's also very close to public transportation. There is a metro stop across the street, buses, whatever public transportation you need is right outside the door. The room was super quiet. I know there were other people on our floor, but I never heard anyone. It was one of the quietest hotels I've been to, which was awesome since I'm a light sleeper. The water pressure in the shower was good, the drainage was good, and there was room by the sink to place your toiletries. The staff were all nice and helpful. The only negative was that the air conditioner seemed to be central by the hotel. Even if I lowered it, the temperature didn't seem to change. That being said, I would definitely stay there again if I went to Sofia.

GGuest UserGreat one night stay. Me and my mate wanted somewhere to bed down before hiking up Vitosha and this place was perfect. Krasimir was fantastic. We arrived late after a 3 hour journey from Kazanlak and hadn’t eaten so Krasimir asked the restaurant next door if they could cook us some food even though they stopped serving at 9:30pm. Service and food at the restaurant was excellent. We also had breakfast there the next morning. Although we were due to check out at 12 we were able to leave our bags at reception for the day whilst we hiked up to Boyana waterfall. On our return, Krasimir kindly booked us a taxi to head back into the central part of town. Really helpful with it being our first time in Sofia and our Bulgarian being very limited. Thankyou Krasimir & Villa Boyana for your excellent hospitality.
GGuest UserWe were here as part of a group tour in September 2022. Check in was swift from the hotel staff and we were given a room on the second floor. As we were part of a Travel Talk Tour, some of the rooms were twins and some were triples. I was in a triple room for the one night we spent here - for three lads with suitcases, the room was a bit on the small side, but we made it work. The beds were comfortable enough, the bedding and the room were clean and the fixtures were in good condition. As well as the three beds, there was a desk, TV, wardrobe with safe and hanging space. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, large sink and vanity unit and toilet. The towels were clean and there were no issues with water pressure or temperature. The hotel wifi was good - good range and speed. We headed into one of the conference rooms for a briefing before our tour and it was a good size. There was a wedding party next door in one of the other conference rooms. Breakfast was good, with a good selection of food and drink. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. Location-wise, you've got a big supermarket next door, so if you need anything, including anything from a pharmacy like we did, then you're in luck. Overall a good short stay here - recommended.
The hotel is almost 3 km from the center of Sofia in a neighborhood with very little lighting and transportation does not help. Then come the rooms. The room very small and the bathroom too. It smells terrible in both rooms, especially in the bathroom. It has a single plug for all the rooms, that is, a plug for the bathroom and the bedroom. The mattresses sink when you lie down and look how little I weigh (47kg). The hotel staff is correct and the only positive is that it has a supermarket next door.
GGuest UserAdrien was very helpful for dinner and at the bar. It is a shame to report that at the bar, on another quiet day, a young lady was too busy giggling with another lady staff & could not be bothered to help me & lied about not speaking English & pointed to the reception when I knew what I needed was at the bar. Very bad attitude!! I found this out as I reported this to the very helpful receptionist who helped me a few times. - Another tip: 2 French couples stayed there & were appalled with the room cleaning service. Maybe French quick translation for the hotel amenities could be useful?? On a happier note, you have a great choice for your breakfast buffets. This was matched with very efficient, helpful lovely smiling waitresses Maria & Evelyn, who I came across before starting my day.
KklemensHotel location is very good, next to the subway, the decor is very modern There are a lot of bar activities in the evening, and the Japanese garden is very tasteful. The price is very economical in Sofia.
GGuest UserGood location not far from all the activities and to the public transport. Walking distance to Nevresky Cathedral and St Andrew Russian Style Church with onion domes. Friendly staff probably family owned but housekeepers do not communicate in English. Good breakfast and varied. Big room with terrace but could not manage to operate the AC .
