GGuest UserThis hotel is located in a very friendly, small village. We stayed three nights and freely walked the village and the Tulous often being stopped by curious villagers to ask us where we are from. Itâs clear foreigners are few and far between in this village but everyone was very welcoming. We have no complaints about the cleanliness, location or breakfast. The rooms and hotel itself are beautiful. If you are a light sleeper (like my friend) the babies crying in the next room or the child and father laughing and chatting in the other room till gone midnight might bother you. If youâre a deep sleeper like me, youâll be fine! The hotel staff didnât really offer much information to us initially. Youâre kind of left to it. But when I added them to wechat they did answer questions we had and they cleaned the room when asked. For future reference hereâs some information for foreigners who make make the journey.
We found two good restaurants in the village and there are small shops with basic necessities. You can arrange a car to take you to different Tulous driving distance away or you could just walk through the village and into neighbouring villages exploring the more authentic Tulous. To be honest, the âtouristâ Tulous werenât of much interest and didnât take a single photo. The more authentic, natural, âleft to their own devicesâ ones were much more appealing to us. You canât get the typical shot from a hilltop of a small group of round Tulous here in this village but you can get so much more of an authentic small, relaxing, quiet village experience at your own pace. We had a driver from Xiamen airport - 3.5 hours there because he didnât take the highway but the provincial road. On the way back to the airport we came via the highway and it was 2 hours. Itâs quite far away but we think itâs very worth it if you go prepared. We would definitely stay in this hotel again. We booked this hotel, therefore the location based on the look of comfort and the fact we wanted traditional, with modern amenities so we could relax as well as explore. It ticked all those boxes.

YYouyayoumomoyuThe entire square Tulou building, Chaoyang Tower, has been transformed into a guesthouse. It retains many of its mottled walls, giving it a strong sense of history and rustic charm. The wooden stairs, hallway floorboards, and wooden doors all creak, which the kids found quite fun. It's truly pleasant to quietly listen to the birds, admire the distant mountains, and sip tea here.
We visited during Chinese New Year, and generally felt the festive cheer was a bit lacking. For example, the front desk didn't have any New Year's candies or similar treats (which, of course, isn't a requirement). The spring couplets by the entrance had also fallen off, and the ground floor was mostly deserted, feeling very quiet and lonely.
Breakfast was served at a different guesthouse, 'Duli', and it was absolutely delicious!
The room design had some inconveniences. The countertop next to the sink was quite low, making it uncomfortable to stoop down for makeup or other activities. Hanging space for clothes was limited, and the hanging rod felt a bit shaky, so we were hesitant to put too many items on it. In the duplex room, it got quite cold at night. While the upper level had air conditioning, the lower level did not, with only a heater in the bathroom. The shower water pressure was extremely low, and the storage water heater couldn't sustain hot water for long, leading to a very poor overall showering experience.
I'd recommend visiting on a weekday, as the prices are better value. It's acceptable for a short stay, but for a longer trip, I wouldn't advise it for anyone who enjoys taking proper showers.

CCindy501The room was large, very good, and the service was good. The experience of this stay was generally very pleasant. I must like the service at the front desk. The check-in speed was very fast and the attitude was very warm. The room was cleaned very clean, the bedding was comfortable, the sound insulation effect was better than I expected, and the night was very stable. The breakfast restaurant chef was best to wear a transparent mask to improve the food hygiene level. The elevator was labeled with a non-smoking label.

HHandsome zhuWhat an absolutely unforgettable trip! The centuries-old house itself is brimming with history and charm. The host family was incredibly warm and welcoming; their children even played happily with ours. The meals were delicious too. Whenever we fancied a cup of tea, the host couple, or even the patriarch himself, would personally brew it and share delightful conversation. They also proactively shared helpful tips and suggested itineraries for exploring the area. For anyone seeking a culturally and historically rich experience, staying here is absolutely the right choice. If I ever get the chance again, I'll definitely go back, not for anything else, but just to visit Ah Wen (the host) once more.

The overall value for money is good. However, the kettle is a bit dirty and the bed is too soft. I have a bad waist and cannot sleep on a soft bed, so I still give it 5 stars.

MM58414****This is a super warm homestay. It is newly opened, with new equipment, clean and hygienic environment, and spacious rooms. It is completely different from the concerns and pictures when booking. We checked in on New Year's Eve. The proprietress was very welcoming and cooked a New Year's Eve dinner for us. She charged a symbolic fee, which was very warm. This B&B is owned by Zhencheng. The proprietress also took us into the building for free to watch the show on New Year's Eve. She is especially good at taking photos. At the beginning of the year, she came to cook glutinous rice breakfast for us and I gave the boss lady a big hug right away!

LlycbYongding Tulou, a destination I've long dreamed of visiting, truly lives up to its charm. It was perfect timing â spring was in full bloom â for a spontaneous trip. The guesthouse is conveniently located right next to the scenic area, easily reachable on foot. It offers all the essential amenities, provides dining options, and is very affordable. I highly recommend catching the Tulou light show; it's absolutely breathtaking!

There is a supermarket downstairs. There is a pedestrian street opposite the hotel. There are all kinds of local snacks and specialties. There is ample underground parking space in front of the hotel. It is a newly opened hotel, so the rooms are neat and clean, and the facilities and supplies are very good. Recommended to stay

GGuest UserThere are many Tulous; I chose the Tulou King-Chengqi Building of the World. I feel that the building itself is more special, well maintained, and the rooms are clean and tidy. There is a bus directly from Xiamen's Yucun Bus Station. The homestay is on the highest floor in Chengqi Building and the view is great. There is no toilet in the Tulou, and I have no use for the portable toilet. I go directly to the public toilet in the building. The bathroom is on the first floor. Tickets are free for check-in after 8 pm. There is accommodation to go upstairs, which is a special experience.
