"I loved this hotel and wished I could have stayed longer! This time, I came from Tokyo on the Shinkansen and stayed in Sendai for three nights. The hotel's location is unbeatable – right above the Shinkansen exit. You step off the train and check in almost instantly. After breakfast, it's a quick 5-minute walk to the platform for trains heading north to Aomori and Ninohe on the third floor. It's incredibly convenient and perfect for anyone with a JR Pass traveling north. Plus, it's very quiet.
The room, by Japanese standards, was quite spacious, especially the bathroom, which had a separate shower and toilet, and the massage showerhead was a real treat. They provided a full range of samples: facial cleanser, makeup remover, toner/lotion, and hair oil – everything you could need, making it super convenient.
There's a dedicated smoking room on the third floor for guests, accessible with your room key. While there's a gym, it only has cardio equipment. On the fourth floor, there's a lounge with views and drinks, which I didn't get to experience due to my tight schedule.
Laundry facilities are on the 7th and 11th floors. Just bring 100-yen coins. However, there's only one top-loader washing machine and one dryer, so you might have to wait.
Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were very friendly.
The breakfast was Western-style but also included local specialties like beef tongue and fish cake, which were pretty good. There was a wide variety of vegetables, and I made sure to load up before heading out to fuel my day.
There are major department stores nearby for easy shopping. And don't miss the zunda shake (edamame milkshake) inside the JR station – it's delicious.
I love Sendai and will definitely be back!"
