"It is close to Kamisawa Station. The hot springs aren't spacious, but they are nice. There isn't a convenience store right next door, but it is just a short walk away. All the staff are very friendly! I would like to thank the female staff member at the front desk who kindly assisted me in English. The lobby on the first floor is also really pretty. If you are visiting Suwa, I highly recommend this place."

The Kamisuwa Station Hotel is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Kamisuwa Station Hotel is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Suwa. The hotel is conveniently located just 800m from Kami-Suwa Station and 29km from Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport. Guests will find Suwa Catholic Church, 諏訪湖ふれあい渚 and Shimosuwa Onsen just a short distance from the hotel. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. This Suwa hotel features parking on site. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service.

"Location: A 10-minute walk from Kami-Suwa Station, which is acceptable. There are convenience stores a couple of blocks away, and a small shop inside the hotel. However, Kami-Suwa is very dark at night with few and dim streetlights, making it a little scary to walk alone. Cleanliness: Incredibly clean! Most hotels just change the beds, collect the trash, and wipe things down, which is why I always use disinfectant wipes to clean myself at every hotel. Usually, the wipes turn black after use, but this hotel is one of the few where the wipes didn't! I appreciate the cleaning staff's responsibility; the hotel should reward their excellent service. Service: Although you might not see anyone in the lobby, the staff are actually in their offices. Just walk to the lobby counter or the small shop, and a staff member will come to you shortly. Facilities: The hotel has onsen (hot springs), one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor temperature is a little higher, but still within acceptable limits. The outdoor temperature could actually be a bit higher. Also, the rooms have bathrooms, so you won't be pressured to use the onsen. The breakfast buffet was delicious, made with local ingredients. The oden was just as good as what you get elsewhere! The cheesecake for dessert was amazing; I ate three! After breakfast, you can even take away a cup of coffee or tea – fantastic! Highly recommend buying breakfast. Overall: Very satisfied. I highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Kamisuto. It's clean, has a nice onsen (hot spring) and a private bathroom, and the breakfast is superb. There are no downsides! It feels like a four-star hotel, not just a two-star one."

It's about a 5-minute walk from Kami-Suwa Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. It's about a 15-minute drive from Suwa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. From Okaya Interchange, take Route 20 towards Kofu and it's about a 20-minute drive. The shores of Lake Suwa can be enjoyed all year round. There is a large natural hot spring bath, making it ideal for hot spring trips and sightseeing. Single rooms are available, so you can also use it as a base for business.

"Positive aspects: The hotel is right next to Katakura-kan, about a 10-minute walk from Kami-Suwa Station, 8 minutes from Lake Suwa, and a FamilyMart convenience store is a 3-minute walk away. It's a Route Inn chain hotel, and has most of the basic amenities expected of a three-star hotel. Cleanliness and common facilities are adequate. Because it's a small town and the off-season, it's very quiet. A notable feature is its own free onsen (hot spring) public bath. The room was booked late, and the 350 yen room rate including a buffet breakfast was reasonable. Negative aspects: The hotel seems to have been operating for a long time and is somewhat outdated. Because it's a small town, there are no restaurants near the hotel; you need to go to the train station area to eat."

Hotel Saginoyu is a long established luxurious Japanese ryokan at Lake Suwa. Please enjoy the starry night sky of Nagano while relaxing at the open-air bath. Hotel is equipped with gallery of Japanese paintings. The latest dinner time is 19:30. Please note that dinner will not be served or refunded if you arrive after this time. We hope for your kind understanding and cooperation.

"It was the first night of my entire trip—and also the most expensive one. But it was absolutely worth it! Lake Suwa was right in front of the hotel. If you take the train, it might be a bit of a walk, but since I drove, the location was perfect. The hotel was incredibly spacious, and the onsen was lovely. Dinner (a full course meal) was exceptional, and breakfast was just as impressive—absolutely delicious! One thing I still wonder about: what were those insects outside the window at night? They clung to the glass, and I was afraid they might get inside. Thankfully, the window seals were excellent, so none of them made it indoors. Only the outdoor bath had a few, which was understandable. I truly hope I can go back again—with my mom next time!"

Renovated in 2025, the Suhaku is a great choice for accommodation in Suwa. The hotel is only 600m from Kami-Suwa Station and 29km from Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. Keeping busy is easy, with Suwako Hanabi, Statue of Princess Yaegaki and Katakurakan all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Suwa hotel offers parking on site. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards.

"This was the hotel I enjoyed most during my trip to Japan (the other two were also very good). It's a newly renovated hot spring hotel right on the shores of Lake Suwa. Facilities: The hotel offers a one-night stay with two meals, with breakfast and dinner included in the room rate. There's an indoor onsen on the 6th floor and another terrace onsen with a lake view. They have red and white baths, hence the name ”Red and White.” The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, where we serve breakfast and dinner. The first floor is also spacious and clean, with a welcome glass of sparkling water. Cleanliness: Every room was spotless, especially the onsen area. Ambience: Because it's located on the lake, most rooms offer a lake view. Our room was the smallest in the hotel, but it was spacious enough for two people (it could sleep up to four). The lake view is a bit off-center, but you can still see a bit. Just across the street from the hotel is the lake, and hotel guests can take a free boat ride. The boats are rarely crowded, and the scenery is truly beautiful. In August, in addition to the famous Lake Suwa Fireworks Festival, there's also a 10-minute fireworks display every evening, visible from the lakeside. Service: The service was excellent. Mr. Lee (or Li), a Chinese-speaking staff member in the restaurant on the second floor, was truly wonderful. His detailed explanation of the dinner provided a deeper understanding of the ingredients and cooking methods for each dish. After dinner, we headed up the mountain to watch the sunset (the setting for Lake Itomori in ”Your Name”), and since it wasn't easy to get a taxi down, the hotel provided flashlights for us. They also helped us get a taxi the next morning. Overall, this is a hot spring hotel with excellent service. Highly recommended!"

"Extremely satisfying hotel. In the area of Shanghai, this hot spring hotel is considered one of the highest. First of all, the environment of the independent small courtyard is very elegant, and all 8 rooms are facing the beautiful lake view, especially the beautiful scenery under the sunset, which is really pleasing to the eye. Secondly, the room is not only large, but also has a separate hot spring pool. Everything in the room is fine, and it is no problem to come here empty-handed. Toiletries, razors, various skin care and hair products, all have. You can also go to the mixed bath hot springs on the top floor of the 6th floor. The idea here is very chic, when entering the hot spring, men and women must wear a special clothes, similar to swimsuits. Again, each room has a separate dining room, and walk past it for three seconds. Then there is a local bar on the ground floor that offers locally produced sake. Finally, walking across the small road is to visit the lake, and you can walk to the station in 8 minutes, which is really convenient. There are many restaurants around, no need to worry."

"I booked the hotel last minute, the night before. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Kami-Suwa. Two things to note: First, you need to book in advance. I filled out a reservation form on their website the night before, and confirmed it was available by phone the next day. You can also book directly by phone. Second, I didn't notice when booking that the shuttle doesn't pick you up from the taxi stand or parking lot in front of Kami-Suwa. You have to cross a pedestrian bridge to reach the stop (on the west side). Lake Suwa is in front of the hotel, and you can see Mount Fuji to the south. The onsen (hot spring) is nice, with several baths, including an open-air one. The hotel has its own Chinese restaurant. We came back late from Tateishi Park and ordered Mapo Tofu noodles and Hot and Sour Soup noodles. Yes, noodles! To be honest, these are dishes I'm quite picky about. The Mapo Tofu used minced beef and Chinese seasonings, and the Hot and Sour Soup used bamboo shoots and seafood broth. If it weren't for the fact that it was too sweet according to Japanese tastes and served with noodles, I would have given it full marks. Anyway, we finished it all. The hotel room is Japanese-style, and they made up the beds for us at dinner. We went to soak in the hot springs, one indoor and one outdoor, both were very nice. The hotel was a pleasant surprise, a completely unexpected find."

"The room I booked was a regular tatami room, but the lake view was great. The hotel service was really considerate and thoughtful. I arrived early and was told during check-in that there was a free bus tour of the four major shrines of Suwa, including a driver's explanation throughout the trip. Due to my poor Japanese, I only understood the general idea and didn't understand any of the details. The four shrines of Suwa Taisha were originally quite scattered, but now it's easy to take them all. The breakfast was made with local specialties and was very healthy."
