This stay at Asante Inn in Hakone was full of surprises! The Japanese-style garden is full of Japanese Zen, and it is super beautiful to take pictures. The owner is enthusiastic and fluent in English. The African artworks in the store are unique and come from his African experience. The stories are super interesting.
Staying in dorm, you will meet travelers from all over the world. The atmosphere is good, and the price is 1200 yen per night, which is very cost-effective. Breakfast and dinner are about 1200 yen, and they are delicious and authentic. You can also make an appointment for private time to soak in the hot springs, which is private and comfortable. There is also a luggage transportation service at Yumoto Station, which is super considerate. I sincerely recommend coming here to experience a different Hakone trip!

SSnowMonkeyWe stayed in the traditional private room which was large and comfortable. The onsen was lovely and very clean. The kitchen is open for guests to use and well equipped. The hotel is located in quite a secluded area with limited amenities/dining options. There’s a 7-11 and Lawson if you really can’t find a restaurant that’s opened. There’s also a lot of stairs which might be challenging if you have heavy luggages.

The B&B is at Sengoroumae Station of the bus, and it is very convenient to go to Togendai Station to take the cable car and the pirate ship. GGuest UserVery satisfied. I booked a hotel with three friends because it was difficult to return to Hakone. I didn't expect it to be so good. There was an English native speaker at the front desk. The room was spacious and clean with a bathroom. There was no problem putting four beds. The hotel also has its own hot spring, and each room can be reserved for half an hour. The boss lady saw that my friend and I were staying in a room and offered to make an appointment for an hour. In short, it was a very happy experience!
But it should be noted that the hotel has no restaurant and is a certain distance from the convenience store. It is best to bring some food with you. The hotel's own store will be closed, and you can only buy some water and instant noodles.

GGuest UserIt feels like a B&B hotel~ One-on-one communication and service~ After receiving one group of guests, they go to the next~ They are really attentive~ And because they are receiving a group~ So going to the hot spring becomes a private reservation~~ The quality of the hot spring is very good. It's effective even if it's too hot~ It's very effective in eliminating fatigue~ I feel like sleeping after soaking~ The supplies are also clean~ The room is spotless! The hospitality is attentive ~ the facilities look very new and not dilapidated ~ the food will be made with local specialty products ~ you can see many collections of the proprietress in the public area. A small surprise is that there is a massage chair that is really comfortable ~ there is a CD player next to it Listening to music while having a massage is really great!
