"A heaven for car lovers, and I'm lucky to be able to visit this place, and also enjoy the drive experience with a top-up. Location is slightly away from everything so you are stranded unless driving (you should be), and you're just minutes from Gotemba with so much choice for food and drinks compared to the hotels choices that were in my opinion limited and costly. Lastly, as the hotel was a part of the museum, it was a bummer that we had to pay to enter the museum despite the high cost of the hotel."

"Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu is a truly comfortable and relaxing ryokan that made our stay very enjoyable. The staff were attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived by car, and they promptly helped unload our luggage and delivered it to the hotel. They also assisted with carrying our luggage back to the car during check-out. The room was well-equipped, clean, and very hygienic, and the high-floor view was wide and beautiful. Breakfast and dinner buffet were both satisfying, with delicious food and a good variety of choices. The onsen was also impressive, with two levels of outdoor baths that are alternated between men and women at different times, allowing guests to enjoy both. The water park-style onsen area was a bit less impressive, but overall, this ryokan deserves a very high rating. The official site highlights its open-air onsen, private baths in all rooms, and well-regarded dining, which matches the strong overall experience here"

"🏔️✨【Hakone Indigo Hotel: A Dreamlike Mountain Retreat】 This was my first stay at Hakone Gōra Indigo, and I was truly rejuvenated by the ambiance. The hotel is nestled in a hot spring resort surrounded by mountains; opening the window reveals layers of greenery and distant clouds and mist, as beautiful as a painting. The room design is modern yet elegantly Japanese, and the open-air onsen was fantastic. The spring water was smooth and comforting, instantly washing away a day's fatigue. Breakfast was also incredibly impressive, using fresh local ingredients; you could feel the attention to detail even in the bread and juice. The staff were friendly and attentive, with every greeting feeling warm, making you feel right at home. The overall experience exceeded expectations, and it's worth revisiting, whether you're a couple, a family, or a solo traveler. 💛 The only thing worth mentioning is that the in-room onsen water seemed to be completely diluted; you could even call it a 'fake' onsen. It lacked the typical onsen smell and was essentially just hot water."

The Hakone Kowakien Hotel was recently opened in 2023, making it a fantastic choice for those staying in Hakone. From the hotel, Kowakidani Station is just 1km away. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Hakonenomori Footbath, Taikoyu and Hakone Hot Spring Shrine all nearby. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. This Hakone hotel features parking on site. Our guests rate this hotel as one of the best hotels for cleanliness. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"I originally planned to stay one night in Hakone, but after checking some guides, I realized there were so many attractions. So, I decided to book an extra night. Apparently, booking two separate nights doesn't guarantee you the same room. The front desk lady spent quite a while checking her computer to arrange a single room for me. Next time, I'll remember to book both nights at once. It might have been because of the Chinese New Year period when there are lots of guests checking in. Hakone is perfect for a one-night, two-meal stay. Since the attractions in Hakone are spread out, it's best to spend the day fully immersing yourself in sightseeing. If you get hungry at lunchtime, just grab some snacks to save time, and then enjoy the hot springs and buffet at the hotel in the morning and evening. The rooftop hot spring might use regular hot water, but it wasn't too crowded, and they had some toiletries and skincare products, so I just decided to wash up there instead of in my room."

This was by far my favorite hotel on this trip to Japan! Huge thanks to the staff for such a fantastic experience. I highly recommend everyone give it a try; you definitely won't be disappointed!"

"The private onsen was lovely, and the hotel is located near Gora Station, though it's up a hill, so I wouldn't recommend heavy luggage. If you do have a lot, it's best to ask the hotel for a pick-up or take two more stops on the Hakone Tozan Railway. The room was very Japanese in style with classic decor. Both meals were also good, and the service was attentive."
