"Silavadee Pool Villas Samui: An Honest Review 🇹🇭 Silavadee Pool Villas, Koh Samui My honest thoughts after staying at this popular cliffside villa. 🏝️ Location: Even closer to the sea than the neighboring Banyan Tree. The hotel is nestled on a cliffside promontory at Lamai Beach, right next to the Banyan Tree. However, Silavadee's overall terrain is more beachfront, directly facing the entire bay, giving it a naturally superior ocean view. Surrounding amenities aren't the most convenient: The nearest convenience stores and restaurants are at least a 15-minute walk away. If you don't want to walk, don't worry – the hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to Chaweng Beach and Lamai Town, making getting around quite hassle-free. 🏡 Room Types & Recommendations: Ocean View Villa The hotel primarily features detached Thai-style villas, categorized into first-row ocean view, partial ocean view, and garden view villas, along with basic standard rooms. My immediate impression was that the indoor room space wasn't as large as advertised. However, the private terrace and private pool with ocean views more than made up for it. On the first night, we were assigned Villa 28. There was an observation deck in front, obstructing the ocean view. Not only was the view incomplete, but the privacy of the terrace was very poor – you could see directly into the room from outside. I immediately contacted the front desk, and they kindly moved us to Villa 29 the next day, free of charge. This villa offered an unobstructed panoramic ocean view, and the terrace was completely private with a phenomenal view – a world of difference! 👉 Tip for your stay: Be sure to request a first-row ocean view villa, specifically number 29 or higher. Villas 26 and 27 also offer better ocean views. If you're only planning to stay in a basic room type, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. 🌊 Public Areas & Beach: Stunning pools, average beach The hotel's overall public area isn't particularly large, but it boasts two expansive infinity pools perched on the cliffside overlooking the ocean, perfect for photos. It also has a private beach at the foot of the hill, but it's quite rocky, and the sand is coarse, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot. It's fine for taking pictures, but not ideal for leisurely strolls or swimming. 🍴 Dining: The hotel's biggest highlight, breakfast is divine! The only absolutely flawless aspect of this hotel is its dining. It completely exceeded my expectations, comprehensively outshining the InterContinental I stayed at previously in terms of taste and ambiance! 1. Cliffside Breakfast Restaurant The breakfast restaurant is built on the cliff, offering a 180° unobstructed ocean view. It operates on a buffet-plus-à-la-carte model, and all the freshly prepared dishes are consistently excellent – you can't go wrong. Every dish has amazing flavor and seasoning, and enjoying breakfast with the sea breeze is an incredibly blissful experience. 2. MOON Restaurant (popular spot) Previously a dedicated breakfast spot, it's now exclusively for dinner. Located next to the second main pool, it offers a fantastic ambiance for a romantic dinner, enjoying Western cuisine and seafood with the sea breeze at dusk. ⚠️ Real Drawbacks: Consider carefully before booking It's a bit overpriced, heavily leans into its 'influencer hot spot' status, and attracts many Chinese tourists. During peak season, room rates are high, and considering the overall amenities, it's not particularly cost-effective. ✍️ Final Recommendation for Your Stay This is a cliffside 'influencer' hotel with very polarized pros and cons. Its advantages are the stunning cliffside ocean views, private pools in individual villas, and a top-tier cliffside breakfast. Its downsides include challenging uphill walks, many mosquitoes, average amenities, and a less-than-ideal value for money. If you decide to stay: I only recommend booking a first-row ocean view villa or higher. I absolutely do not recommend booking basic room types. Make sure to communicate in advance to avoid Villa 28, which has an obstructed view!"

"We stayed there at the end of July. At first, the hotel grounds seemed a bit inconvenient, but we were sleepy at the time. The hotel is built on a hilly area, and the landscaping is wonderfully integrated. Between the staircases connecting the buildings, you can see boulders and trees, giving you the feeling of living in a jungle 😍 – even though it's actually right on the beachfront 😁. The steep incline doesn't really feel like an inconvenience. If you're at reception, you hop into a golf cart and they take you where you need to go. If you're on the beach and need to go up, you can call from the bar, and a golf cart will come. Same from your room. They drive around constantly anyway, but you can always call for one. We stayed in both a Grand Deluxe and a Premier room. Our Grand Deluxe was above a two-story room, so we were effectively on the 3rd floor, not far from the pool and restaurant. The room was decorated in light grey tones. It was bright, large, very large – you could easily fit a second bed in there 😁. **Pros:** a desk, plenty of chairs (useful for hanging clothes to dry indoors), a large mirror in the bathroom, and a spacious wardrobe that opens fully. **Cons:** The bed felt more like a standard double than a king-size. There were no closed shelves by the bed for small items. The air conditioner was aimed directly at the bed, and even on its lowest setting, it was still cold. There were tiny ants (even though there was no food, they still seemed happy to live there 😁). The showerhead wasn't detachable and was small, and the bathtub was inconvenient to use. There was no shower door. Upon check-in, there were no face towels, but a quick call to reception sorted everything out. In general, if you need anything – water, towels, soap, toilet paper, etc. – just call. Now, about the Premier room – it's in a different, more verdant building nearby. The natural surroundings here are different but just as lovely – palm trees and flowers. We stayed on the 3rd floor. **Pros:** The room had a Balinese style, with carved brown furniture, interesting bedside lamps, and emerald tiles in the bathroom, creating a very relaxing atmosphere 😻. The bed was a proper king-size (just what we needed here!). It had both a rain shower and a regular shower, a detachable large showerhead, a shower door, and shelves by the bed for small items. There was a window from the bathroom to the room, which was a cool design feature and made the room look visually a bit larger. The balcony had a drying rack, which the Grand Deluxe didn't have (though we always bring a rope for such cases). No ants here! 😀 **Cons:** No desk and only one chair. The balcony had a small table, but it was low. The room felt smaller compared to the Grand Deluxe, but it was fine for two people. Less lighting, and due to the dark furniture, it was dimmer than the Grand. This didn't bother us. The wardrobe was small, with sliding doors. **Regarding the beach:** Objectively, our hotel has the best beach on Chaweng Noi because it's wide. Other hotels have narrow beach areas due to their property lines. The entry into the water is gentle, and the water is clean. When there are no clouds, it's a beautiful blue. For a couple of days, we felt some kind of biting plankton, but there were no other pests. **Breakfast:** Fresh vegetables, various egg dishes, bacon, sausages, ham, rice, chicken with vegetables, pasta, rice porridge, potatoes, beans. French toast, pancakes, waffles. Croissants, muffins, occasionally profiteroles, bread. Jams, honey, butter, Nutella. Yogurt, watermelon daily, and bananas, melon, and pineapple rotated. Cereal, milk, juices, water. Coffee from a machine. No red fish or shrimp. But overall, the food was decent. Dishes rotated, and there was always enough to eat 👍. We bought one Piña Colada – didn't like it. The taste was all wrong. Much better in Cuba! 😀😀 The hotel offers bike and car rentals. The prices weren't too high, especially since they had the exact model we were looking for. The gentleman even let us test-drive it around the property before booking. There's a shuttle bus to Central shopping mall. For 4 people, it's 80 baht per person. If only 2 people, it's 300 baht for both. This is roughly the same as a taxi. You can check Grab for exact prices. Paid late check-out is available; inquire in advance. We needed it. ❤️ **Overall impression:** Despite the minor downsides, our experience was good. It was interesting to stay in both room types."

"What an incredible stay. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless. The location is perfect, right on the beach, with beautiful surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it very hard to leave. The service is truly five star. The staff are absolutely outstanding and go above and beyond in every way. Nothing is too much trouble, and they genuinely care about making your stay special. It is rare to experience hospitality at this level. The whole experience felt polished, professional, and luxurious. One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Yes, it is expensive, but in this case you genuinely get what you pay for. We did not mind paying for that level of service and quality. We would absolutely return."

"Good day! This is my fourth time staying at this hotel, and I love everything about it! It's not far from the city center, with cafes and shops within walking distance. You can also find fruit stands, massage parlors, and pharmacies nearby. The room is cleaned daily, and the linens are pristine white. They provide shower gel, shampoo, soap, and toothbrushes! They even warn guests about jellyfish in the water if there are any. The breakfasts are wonderful; you can take whatever you like!"

"Loved our stay, even enjoyed the airplanes flying low over the rooms. Only disadvantage is that the pool closes, we’re on holiday, I want to be able to swim even if it’s 11pm. We upgraded to a room with A/C and ironically the next day the power was out from 7am to 7pm. The side closest to the beach where the better rooms are, is very windy, I’m happy to have stayed on the other side."

"Comfortable, clean, and pleasantly surprised. This is my third time in Koh Samui, and I have stayed in several of the most popular hotels. This time I want to change to some new hotels. This time I booked a seaside homestay for the first three nights, and stayed here for the last night. Because there are three children in the family, we need two rooms, and this two-bedroom and one-living room is just right. The whole design of the room is very comfortable, the details are especially clean, and the living room and dining table facing the beautiful scenery are really pleasing to the eye. The key is that the price-performance ratio is super high at more than 2,000 a night👍👍👍"

"Excellent welcome and impeccable service throughout our stay. The hotel is beautiful, very well-maintained, and the breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of quality products. The establishment is located a bit away from the island's main attractions, but this allows for a particularly calm and relaxing environment. With a scooter, it's easy to reach the various attractions and explore the island freely. The hotel beach is pleasant and offers good opportunities for relaxation, even if some other beaches on the island are even more beautiful. We had an excellent stay and would gladly recommend this hotel."

"Service was excellent right from the start. We could have breakfast in room for one the mornings. Our “secret room” was exclusive and super private. Room service tasted awesome. The team initiated late check out at 3pm to accomodate our departure flight back. Super recommended if you are coming for your special occasion trips or just a restful getaway. Location is 3min from Central Samui where supermarkets and restaurants are just stone’s throw away."

"The sea here is objectively very dirty with a silty bottom, so murky you can't even see your feet if you wade in ankle-deep. The villas are in need of renovation; the bathroom walls look like they've been smeared, not painted. The towels, especially the beach ones, are in very poor condition, and the bed linen has holes. Breakfasts are decent with a wide buffet selection. You can also have lunch and dinner at the restaurant; prices are above average, but the food is tasty. The staff are smiling and attentive. There's a good gym with a great view of the pool. The pool water is very warm, so it doesn't offer much of a cool-down. There are enough sun loungers for everyone, and plenty of tables at breakfast. The location is convenient, right next to Big C and a 5-minute walk from 7-Eleven. It's also a 10-minute walk to the Fisherman's Village, which has a wide variety of restaurants and bars."
