Holiday Inn Express EDINBURGH - CITY WEST by IHG
"The hotel was clean and perfect for staying Staff was nice and helpful. Location is ok if you like distance a little from Princess St Overall was perfect"
Holiday Inn Express EDINBURGH - LEITH WATERFRONT by IHG
"Location: Very conveniently located right across a couple of bus stops and also a few steps away from Ocean Terminal tram stop. The Oean Terminal has a few well known brand outlets which we did not visit but if you have nothing else to do, it could be a nice way to spend your time. Also the Royal Britannia Yacht is right there. Cleanliness and facilities: just as expected from IHG, very clean and also the facilities that we wanted: luggage storage, a simple bar/ restaurant and hot breakfast. Nothing extraordinary but absolutely essential. Note: scrambled eggs could be better. Service: OK, as expected. We had already sent a note saying we were going to arrive between 1 AM and 1:30 AM, and when we came to the reception around 1:15 AM, they promptly delivered the keys and on the inside of the card was written "no show". Which means the reception doing the night shift never saw our note and had already marked us as possible "no show". It did not hurt us, but I did not like the fact they never read our note, it shows the impersonal nature of their service. Therefore I deducted one star. Note: The cranberry tea is a nice selection. It helped my headache. Thanks."
Destiny Student - Holyrood (Brae House)
"Hotel was university dorm rooms. Small but comfortable and had toilet and shower. There is a shared kitchen (shared between ~6 rooms). Walls were thin which is a problem if neighbours are noisy. Location is decent, plenty of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Overall it's an ok place to stay, not cheap but not bad value compared to other places in the city. Note that hotel charges £5 per bag if you want to leave things behind the counter until check in time."
Virgin Hotels Edinburgh
"Incredible location, great rooms and magnificent staff. Loved it!"

Holiday Inn EDINBURGH by IHG
"One of the worst experience ever! 09:30am house keeping knock despite the “Do not disturb” sign! Soft Pillows Alert! No support to your neck at all! The room was quite dirty, the toilet weren’t clean. The bed though is firm and good for my back. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless they just want a room next to the zoo. P.S. the chinese translation sign on just only one notice in the bathroom is weird. To look around the room, we could only find one sign with chinese translation, this maybe a potential discrimination case. Just a head up to anyone who may be offended before they book the stay."

"We had a great experience thanks to Yannick at reception. When we arrived, I felt that the room we were initially given was not quite what I expected based on the booking and photos. Yannick listened to our concerns professionally and kindly, and he quickly arranged an alternative room for us. The new room was even more spacious and made our stay much more enjoyable. His friendly attitude, excellent customer service, and willingness to help really stood out. Thank you, Yannick, for making us feel welcome and taking such good care of us."
