Shanghai Airport Code
There’re two main airports in Shanghai. Each has its code (letters as an identifier): Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) & Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA).
“PVG” combines “P” for Pudong and “VG” as a unique identifier. PVG is Shanghai’s primary international hub, which handles about 70% foreign flights (including long-haul routes to Europe/Americas).
“SHA” is the earliest & original airport in Shanghai, opened in 1907. It mainly serves domestic flights and short-haul international flights (like East Asia).

What US Cities Fly Direct to Shanghai?
Several US cities offer non-stop flights to Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). You can fly from the top departure cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Airlines like China Eastern, United, and Air China are recommended, which offer frequent routes.
Other cities like Dallas and Chicago offer seasonal or less frequent direct flights to Shanghai. Most routes require connections. Note that Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) rarely serves flights from the U.S. – only a few routes (like Los Angeles – Shanghai) with a higher cost.

The Bund
4.8/5
6482 reviewsIt was quite enjoyable, amazing views, plenty of seating at the 18:15 slot as long as you're there a little early. The boat was so smooth. A must do 😁

Oriental Pearl Radio & Television Tower
4.7/5
12020 reviewsWe visited the tower together with the 17-19 restaurant, and after dinner, we went on a tour of the tower. This is probably the best way to visit. Watching the city take on color from the revolving restaurant is simply incredible. The food in the restaurant is average; despite the abundance of delicacies (snails, crabs, various types of fish), everything tasted bland. After the restaurant, we walked around the main observation decks.

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park
4.6/5
15115 reviewsIt's a great place to spend quality time with the family. Great shows with the killer whales and mermaids. The cable car is so-so, a one-time experience. The only thing I felt sorry for was the animals in the enclosures along the way to the killer whales (where you can feed them for a fee—alpacas, deer, rabbits). They were very dirty, unkempt, and mangy... it's obvious they're having a very hard time there.

People's Square
4.7/5
288 reviewsIt's good place with good views. There are really beautiful buildings near here. But this park wasn't lit at all

Shanghai Astronomy Museum
4.9/5
2214 reviewsMy girlfriend really loves space, so I brought her along, and she's satisfied. (Girlfriend = Quark inside a black hole)
