LXLHTThis hotel is super close to Oxford Station, just right next door. From the pictures, I thought it might be a bit old-fashioned, but it seems to have been renovated. The room was relatively spacious and quiet, clean with no strange odors. There are only two floors and it's all stairs, but the staff were very helpful and carried our large luggage upstairs. We were able to store our luggage before check-in, and the front desk even provided a small map with suggested sightseeing routes, which was much appreciated. There's a small supermarket right next door downstairs, which was convenient for picking up supplies. It's also just a 10-minute walk to High Street and plenty of dining and shopping options. Oxford itself is quite small, so getting around is very easy from here.

applepie722We booked a suite, and the size was decent. However, the room was really hard to find; thankfully, a cleaning staff member led us there. There was a section of stairs without an elevator. The hotel service was okay – nothing special. The complimentary dinner was served very slowly, but maybe that's just because we Chinese are used to a quicker pace, as the foreigners didn't seem to mind. There's a horse ranch right outside the hotel where you can take a walk. If you go further out, it's just a main road with no supermarkets or anything like that.

Guest Userlove this Hotel stayed many times .
just a few issues on this visit that didn’t quite get the excellent for me
The aircon on the room wasn’t working I phoned the desk and was told it’s on Heating mode only turn it off and start it again we did but the guy on the desk was unhelpful.
also the breakfast was a little lacking this visit we went down at 9.20 and most of the rolls muffins and pastries had gone no bagels and the eggs fried were hard normally there is a menu where you can choose fresh eggs etc but as they had a corporate event on that was not operating so despite a heft y price for the breakfast we didn’t get a very good one .
Other than that the service from all staff i. bar ,Reception especially Telma and Phil was excellent

The hotel is located at the city centre, just 3-5 minute walk from Westgate: can't be better: 5 stars
The room is clean and daily house keeping did a good job: 5 stars
Facilities are not perfect but understandable in limited space in an expensive city: 4 stars
Service: Staff in general is professional and up to Courtyard standard ... EXCEPT the night shift assistant manager who made the check-in experience terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t call the night shift assistant manager’s attitude merely disappointing — it was astonishing. We arrived to check in around midnight, and it seemed we might have disturbed his sleep. He reacted with rudeness, even slamming the desk as he handed me the check‑in sheet, and curtly instructed me to sign it. It was already late at night, and after a long day of traveling I chose not to voice my disappointment at that time. However, I did not encounter him again in the following days during my stay.
Indeed I sent a couple of messages through the booking agent to the hotel informing my late arrival, but none of them got a reply. Is it a normal practice (no response) of Courtyard?

very nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service.

We were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked. It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend.. Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk. Buses went to the city centre and railway station. The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff. Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

We loved staying at the Mad hatter. The location is only 10-15 mins from the city centre, staff was ever so helpful, and the room is very atmospheric, it felt incredibly lush without being over the top and tacky. The room was very clean and felt brand new. Only downside is the karaoke bar downstairs, but they kindly provide earplugs and anyway it stops early. We would definitely book it again.

The talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.

Everything was okay with the facilities. The terrible downside was the disgusting view outside the window. When I went back to the front desk to ask for a room change, without even looking at the computer screen, they immediately told me they were fully fully booked. When brushing my teeth and washing my face, looking at such a scene, I got the illusion that I was getting dirtier and dirtier. Totally unacceptable. There was also liquid left in the kettle, clearly not cleaned.

LigangI came to the UK for 12 days this time. This is my first time writing a review because I want to tell everyone not to step on the pit. 1. The hotel is newly opened and the location is very convenient. It is next to Trinity College and the commercial street. It is convenient for eating and playing.
2. The hotel room is large in this location because all the facilities are new and relatively complete. The corridor is a bit like a maze, and there are four doors to the room.
3. I want to complain that parking is inconvenient. You have to go to the parking lot of the nearby shopping mall. The navigation basically can't get downstairs, so you need to find it slowly by yourself.
4. Check in on August 1, 2024. The hotel is newly renovated. The smell is very strong and choking. The window of the room cannot be opened, and the smell cannot be released. It feels like a human filter for a night. The smell is so strong that you can't open your eyes🥵
5. Be sure to pay attention to the toilet button in the hotel bathroom. It is easy to get your hand pinched when you press it. I was pinched. Due to language problems, I did not negotiate with the hotel. If I were in China, I should have stayed for free.
