Dorsett rooms are a great value for the money!! They are nicely appointed, very clean and comfy beds. I give a 5/5 for the rooms. Check-in was welcoming. The only downside of this place is the location. There is not much nearby for restaurants or stores. Only a 7-11 at ground level. BUT MTR station and the busy parts of Tauen Wan are only 10-20 min walk. And a bus stop a 5 minute walk. Because of the rooms I’ve chosen this hotel over ones more convenient in Tsuen wan.

Great Hotel & Delicious Food in Kwun Tong

Stayed at Dorsett Kwun Tong and really enjoyed it! 

Spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds and excellent location near Kwun Tong MTR and APM mall. Staff were friendly and service was efficient.

The highlight was the food — the breakfast buffet had good variety (loved the noodles and local options), and the on-site Chinese restaurant delivered tasty authentic dishes. We also had amazing Hong Kong street food and nearby eateries every day. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying.

Would definitely recommend this hotel for its comfort, convenience, and great dining experience!

Room Environment: My 'premium room' with frosted, non-opening windows turned out to be a 'cemetery view room' or 'mountain view room,' right next to the Hong Kong Cemetery. It was surprisingly quiet though. I imagine a city view room might be a bit noisy since it's by an elevated highway.

Cleanliness: Not great. I felt like the countertops weren't wiped down, there were water stains everywhere, and I even found a long hair from a previous guest on the wall.

Facilities: Besides the disposable toiletries, they provide basic amenities like a fridge, hairdryer, makeup mirror, kettle, and even hand soap and body lotion. However, everything is quite old; even the plastic cups had scratches on the inside. On the bright side, there's a free pinball machine downstairs which was pretty fun.

Service: The front desk staff were okay, and they spoke Mandarin which was helpful. You have to buy toiletries yourself from a vending machine downstairs, and there's no water dispenser in the room; you have to get water from one in the hallway. If your room is near the dispenser, you'll definitely hear people filling their bottles.

Value for Money: If it were around 500 RMB, a cemetery view room would be great value. But I booked three weeks in advance for over 700 RMB, and it was non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and I couldn't even change the guest name. Then, closer to the May Day holiday, the price was practically cut in half! So, keep an eye on the pricing when you book.

The renovation is very new, but the room lighting is too dim, likely to create a 'luxurious' atmosphere. It's so dark I couldn't even see my beard when shaving... This really misses the point.

Furthermore, for a seemingly 'boutique' hotel, it's unacceptable that there are no bathrobes in the room. I assume the hotel management made a conscious decision here, but this is a service that absolutely shouldn't be cut.

Although the breakfast selection is limited, the taste is good. Aside from the salad and fruit, everything else was well-made. The scrambled eggs could rival those at a five-star hotel (though without the condiment bar present). The coffee quality is among the best I've had at countless hotel breakfasts, and the chef in the Chinese food section must be very professional.

The bus service is a nice touch. It would be even better if checkout could be extended to 12:00 PM.

Oh, and the gym equipment is excellent. The Guinness stout at the rooftop bar was good, but another local Hong Kong draft beer tasted distinctly off and sour, possibly due to low consumption and deteriorated pipes. If the bar insists the beer wasn't spoiled, then its sour taste matches the bartender's subpar skills.

Also, I often work late. Despite having the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on, why did the cleaning lady keep knocking and waking me up? I was furious at the time; she kept knocking until I opened the door.

I honestly think this hotel offers incredible value for its price.

~Service: The front desk staff were warm, patient, and clearly thought about the guests' needs; there was even someone on duty late at night. The luggage storage attendant was also incredibly kind. I just asked about the hotel shuttle, and he took me out in the pouring rain to catch it.

~Amenities: Some floors have free water dispensers, and on the first floor, there's a complimentary tea room, as well as coin-operated washing machines and dryers. They offer a free hotel shuttle from 10 AM to 6 PM, and umbrellas are available in the lobby – all very convenient.

~Location: The hotel is located at an intersection, just a few steps away from McDonald's, ParknShop supermarket, and 7-Eleven. Across the street, there are various restaurants serving Korean, *********, Chaoshan, Vietnamese, and Singaporean cuisine, all at reasonable prices, usually under 100 HKD.

~Transportation: The hotel shuttle stops at Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Elements Mall at Kowloon Station. The bus has automatic doors, and you just wave to get on at designated spots. The Olympic and Nam Cheong MTR stations are about a ten-minute walk away. There are also bus and mini-bus stops near the hotel, which are very convenient if you know how to use them. For a concert I attended, I took a special bus from Kai Tak to Prince Edward after the show, then transferred to a mini-bus, arriving at the hotel in just 20 minutes.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel Hong Kong boasts an excellent location, within walking distance to the Causeway Bay shopping district and MTR station, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The rooms are clean and tidy, well-equipped, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. It offers great value for money and is a top-notch accommodation choice for your trip to Hong Kong.

We stayed at the Hotel Dorsett, and overall it was a pretty positive experience, with a few small things to note.

The best parts: The room is very spacious, and the bathroom is super large, with both a bathtub and a shower. The bed is comfortable – though a little firm, and you can feel movement when the other person moves. The curtains, lights, and USB chargers are a great, convenient touch. Breakfast is good, especially for Asian tastes – Western options are limited, but what they have is tasty. The location is fantastic: the metro is just 50 meters away, right at the doorstep. The area is nice and recommended. There was some construction nearby, but it didn't bother us at all.

Could be improved: The only real negative point is the elevator – it takes quite a while.

Bottom line: Highly recommended for the space, cleanliness, and location. If you don't mind waiting a bit for the elevator or a slightly firm bed, everything else more than makes up for it.

The location is great. It is right next to the line 2 of Shanghai Metro.  There is a public park - Century Park - right cross the street.  The hotel staff was helpful, the room was clean, though the amenities were aged.   One thing that made us uncomfortable is the tub/shower in the bathroom.   It is a very odd configuration with an old plastic tub that flexes when step in, the tub has a relatively high “wall” to hop cross that definitely the point of hazardness.  Also, there are spots of black mold in the seams of the tiles that were kind of gross!      The bathroom definitely need to be reconfigured.   See photos attached.
