Stayed at HOMES Stay Myeongdong during my recent Seoul trip and found it to be a very practical base for exploring the city.

The biggest advantage is definitely the location. The airport limousine bus stop is directly opposite the building, making airport transfers extremely convenient. The property is also connected to Chungmuro Station via B1/Exit 5, making it easy to travel to places such as Myeongdong, Anguk, and Seongsu.

As this is an apartment-style accommodation, having a washing machine and dryer in the room was a huge plus. It allowed me to pack lighter, do laundry during the trip, and save luggage space for shopping.

There are plenty of convenience stores and food options nearby, and the room was comfortable enough for a multi-day stay.

The lifts can be a little slow during peak hours, and while the room was generally clean, the cleanliness and service were more functional than exceptional. Don’t expect the level of attentiveness or thoughtful touches you might find in a full-service hotel.

That said, the convenience, transport connectivity, and in-room laundry facilities more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a practical and well-located place to stay in Seoul, especially for a shopping trip, HOMES Stay Myeongdong is a solid choice.

1. The room was clean and tidy, and all the toiletries were provided (except for toothpaste and toothbrushes).
2. The room's location is excellent and feels very cozy.
3. Basic facilities are complete, including a refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, and so on.
4. No need for trash sorting.
5. Great for introverts, as you can check in yourself.

I also have to praise the hotel staff 🥹. On my first day of arrival, I lost my iPhone 7 Plus, which I believe I left on the airport shuttle. We realized it quickly and went to look for it, but it was in vain.

We didn't have local SIM cards and weren't very fluent in Korean, so we hoped the front desk staff could help us communicate. The male staff member efficiently helped us contact the airport bus management center, but we were told it hadn't been found. He seemed even more upset than me when he heard it wasn't found 😢, and kept comforting me 🥹. Although it wasn't a very valuable phone, it held some sentimental value, so I was a bit heartbroken.

The female staff member spoke very fluent Chinese and also helped us deal with the communication issues with the airport bus station. On the second day after losing it, I suddenly received an iCloud location update showing it was at the airport. Although I felt a bit embarrassed, I asked the female staff member to help contact the airport again. Knowing we would return to the hotel late, she left us a note.

After returning to my home country, I immediately left a review on Google Maps, hoping to convey my gratitude to both of them.

I found another hotel that doesn't seem to be widely shared on Xiaohongshu! The location is super convenient, really close to Sinsa-dong, Hannam-dong, and you can even walk to Myeong-dong. There's a GS25 right downstairs. The airport bus goes directly here, both ways, and I've included the timetable in the last picture. The rooftop offers direct views of N Seoul Tower, and sometimes there's live band music in the evenings. Finding the hotel is easy too, it's bright red and stands out. As for the room, the space is pretty decent, but the lighting isn't great, and there's nothing particularly special about it. However, one floor offers an instant noodle experience, so if you want to try Han River instant noodles but don't have time to go, you can experience it on the second floor. This trip, I learned how to use the subway; using the Hanchao app and checking the line numbers to determine direction was much easier than constantly looking at navigation. I took the subway and bus a lot this time, and it's actually quite simple. Snagging it for 400 a night was really good value for money. Hotels seem pretty expensive lately, but for business travel, my favorite is still RYSE Hotel, Mapo; it's relatively clean and less crowded around. Both these hotels offer self check-in and self check-out, which is a godsend for introverts. #hotel #SeoulHotel #Korea #Chungmuro

The hotel is surrounded by plenty of dining options, which is incredibly convenient. The area really comes alive at night. While the room size is a bit on the smaller side, the facilities are brand new and everything is spotless. Plus, on the second floor, you can do some light cooking, and there are small meeting rooms, a gym, and a laundry room available. I'd definitely recommend staying here for business trips.
