Context: The 'Prestige Corner Room' windows face a construction site with accompanying noise, which unfortunately detracts from the overall ambiance. This deduction only applies to my specific room type.

Ambiance: The hotel's back entrance opens directly onto Tanukikoji shopping street, and it's a mere 10 meters from Hokkaido's largest Don Quijote. The location is unbeatable, though the construction across the road from the main entrance does have a negative impact.

Facilities: The hotel facilities are on par with a 3-star rating, so you don't need to worry too much about amenities. There's no bottled water in the room, but there's a public water dispenser by the elevator.

Service: Full housekeeping service is only available on the third day for guests staying four days or more. This is quite inconvenient for longer stays, as trash can quickly pile up.

Hygiene: Overall, the environment is very clean and tidy. Even with smoking rooms, there's no smoke smell in the elevators. The laundry room has two washer-dryer combos, which are very busy. The inside of the machines is quite dirty, so I'd recommend only washing outer garments and not underwear.

I had a very pleasant stay at Richmond Hotel Sapporo Ekimae. The room was clean and well maintained, with housekeeping done every day. Towels were changed daily, which I really appreciated. Even the bathroom was spotless and well kept throughout my stay.

The staff were friendly, polite, and very welcoming, which made the experience even better. One highlight was the breakfast service — it was excellent and is a full meal course. You can choose from six different set options, all of which were satisfying and well prepared.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is convenient, about a 15–20 minute walk to Sapporo Station. Getting around is easy as Sapporo has many interconnected underground walkways, which is especially helpful during cold or snowy days.

The room is compact but has enough space to open luggage comfortably. The location is convenient, within walking distance to the JR station and Kyoto Railway Museum.




The bathroom is well-designed with a separate wet and dry area. The shower area feels like an onsen-style setup, with a space for washing before soaking in the tub — my son and I enjoyed a bath there both nights.




Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The hotel also provides complimentary items like bath salts and lotions, which was a nice touch.




The Kyoto-style atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. There’s also a popular ramen shop downstairs, perfect for a late-night meal.

📍 **Location**: Convenient, with two supermarkets nearby (Life and Fresco), making it easy to grab food and essentials.
🚌 **Getting around**: Kyoto mainly relies on buses, so the location works well if you’re traveling light.
🧳 **From Kyoto Station**: If you have big luggage, taking the metro can be inconvenient as it involves about a 1 km walk. I took an Uber instead, which cost around ¥2,000 — much more comfortable after a long trip.
💧 **Amenities**: Drinking water is provided near the lift, but you’ll need to collect it yourself daily.
🧺 **Laundry**: There’s a washing machine with washer + dryer available for about ¥800 per use. Payment can be made by IC card (like ICOCA) or cash.
🍱 **Breakfast**: Mostly local Japanese options. It’s good to try, but you may not need to take it every day unless you really enjoy local cuisine 😅
🛗 **Lift access**: The lift doesn’t go directly from the ground floor to your room. You’ll first go up to the hotel lobby on the 3rd floor, then change to another lift to access your room.
💡 **Tip**: Consider taking a taxi/Uber on arrival if you have heavy luggage, then use buses for daily travel.
Overall, a comfortable stay with a practical location!

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. 

They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient.

It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking.

Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

The staff were friendly and nice! I asked for their names, but they forgot them again ㅠㅠ When I did my laundry, I accidentally put it in the dryer, so I asked the reception for help, and they were quick and friendly. Thank you!💓
The breakfast was also delicious. They even had local Kagoshima cuisine, so I was satisfied every morning.
