This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was well-furnished, modern and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We like that there is a communal bath in the hotel. The room feels cozy and has a spacious bathroom which was a pleasant addition. We will be recommending this hotel and will make a return in future! (P.S. There’s a curry rice shop 1-2mins walk away from the hotel towards Kyoto station, that is absolutely delicious and affordable and is on our mind till this day!)

Location: Just a 2-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station Exit 6, super close! It's on a side street, so the area is very quiet and has a charming Kyoto vibe. There are plenty of izakayas nearby, and a 7-Eleven right next door!

It's normal for hotels in Japan to be small, and the room here was indeed a bit on the smaller side. You won't be able to fully open a large suitcase.

A thoughtful touch: the room has a makeup mirror, which is a huge plus for women!

If you're a woman, be prepared! Shijo Subway Station Exit 6 doesn't have an elevator, and the stairs are quite high. Carrying heavy luggage might be a bit of a struggle.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel in all aspects!

The room was small! But the lobby was incredibly grand, like a relic from the昭和 era, truly aristocratic! The check-in staff provided classic Japanese service – warm and polite!

It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but if you're taking the bus, it's super convenient because the bus stop is right in front of the hotel!

My favorite feature was the radio by the bed in the room. The night I checked in, I tuned into a random station that was playing old Japanese songs, and every single one was so good. Listening to those Japanese songs while showering and packing made me feel like I'd traveled back to the昭和 period.

The concierge gave me a bit of trouble during check-in regarding the bed size, but I assume that's not a common issue for most guests. The matter was handled by Trip.com customer service and the hotel manager, and everything was resolved smoothly—everyone was happy in the end. The hotel is visibly old, but it's clean and well-maintained. It's suitable for guests who drive, as it offers a relatively large car park.

The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to Shiba Park and incredibly close to Tokyo Tower – just a short walk away. The room, though small, was clean, comfortable, and very convenient for transport. The service was genuinely reliable, honest, and thoughtful. Especially impressive was how the hotel staff carefully kept and fully returned the three New Year's red envelopes I had left under the pillow. Even though it was only a few thousand RMB, it was a New Year's gift for my daughter and represented the ritual of the holiday, so losing it would have been incredibly upsetting. This level of reliability, honesty, and attentiveness is rarer and more valuable than any beautiful view. When I go to Tokyo again, this hotel will definitely be my first choice for peace of mind!

Spotless, Brand New, and Perfect for Shoppers!
ANCHORED by RIHGA is exceptionally clean, brand new, and features excellent overall amenities and top-notch toilet facilities. A massive, unexpected highlight is the professional vacuum-packing machine in the laundry area, which is an absolute lifesaver for flattening clothes and bulky purchases to save luggage space. The only minor drawback is that the elevators can be quite slow, but otherwise, it’s a fantastic, highly recommended place to stay near Ebisucho.

The location is excellent and very convenient, though the room is a bit small – a common characteristic of Japanese hotels. However, they offer two cleaning options: the 'simple' mode is indeed very basic. The toiletries provided are Kao, not Pola.
