The Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda proved to be an excellent choice for my latest trip to Japan. After arriving it was super convenient to just walk over from Terminal 3 and check in. There were some issues retrieving my booking with the terminals but the staff were quick to sort it out. Travelling to and fro was easy too thanks to the airport connections.

The room itself was excellent - roomier than many Tokyo hotels, with a great view of the river, and all the expected amenities. The best part was the quietness. Despite being next to the airport I couldn't hear the planes at all or any noise from the hall or adjoining rooms. I stayed in a Japan Airlines themed room which was amusing for an aviation nerd like me.

The hotel onsen was also excellent and worth the extra fee. The baths were very relaxing but the advertised view couldn't be appreciated from the windows being fogged up by the steam. That was more than offset though by the excellent restaurant that had great service and delicious food for a very reasonable price. I opted to eat there rather than the very crowded breakfast buffet in the mornings. It was great for dinner too especially after a relaxing bath.

One thing I didn't care for was the extra fee for the fitness room, unlike most hotels I've stayed at. There was a free area with just weight machines but if you wanted to use the treadmills there was an additional fee.

Regardless of that, I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The room was very clean and even had a small sofa. There's a supermarket downstairs, though it closes a bit early. A Lawson convenience store is just a five-minute walk away, and the subway station isn't far either, making it very convenient for getting around. The only downside was that the air conditioner was leaking, right at the end of the building. Since there was a language barrier, I just put a plastic bag under it. Overall, it was still very good.

The location is great if you're going to Odaiba or the exhibition center, but not very convenient for much else. Even the convenience store is a long walk, and there's nothing else around. It's located in an office building. The worst part was: we arrived at noon to check in and leave our luggage, then came back around 4 or 5 PM to get our room key. I don't understand what makes the 'premium king room' premium, especially since I requested a high floor. Instead, we were put on the 2nd floor in room 43, which is the furthest room possible – you have to walk a long way around after exiting the elevator. The lighting was terrible, facing the atrium of the office building/hotel lobby. I don't know if it's because it was an agency booking or something else, but it felt unfriendly. While Japanese hotel facilities are usually well-maintained, you can tell the rooms here are quite old. There was even a smell of sweat coming out of the elevator on the second floor. I'm usually pretty easygoing, but this room felt like a complete rip-off.

This is a continuation of my previous review. I had to book an extra night because I'd initially booked one day less. The hotel was able to merge both bookings when I checked in. Also, some guides mentioned that additional fees might be charged during check-in, but that wasn't the case. I only paid the amount shown on Trip.com, and didn't have to pay anything else upon arrival at the hotel.

The hotel room is large enough to open large suitcases and put down things you’ve shopped. It’s been renovated so the room facilities are modern. Personally the bed is large for 1 person and the pillows provided were soft firm comfortable. The TV has Netflix,Youtube and other Japanese platform apps available alongside with cable tv. Besides the bed there’s a charging plug to insert the adaptor too. There’s also a large table and chair with a built in mini fridge to chill your food/drinks. A standard hotel tea/coffee/water boiler pot is also provided with cups. The entrance rack has a shoehorn which is very useful when wearing shoes, a foldable chair, slippers and etc provided just by the door.

There’s also a humidifier provided for dry winters, and the ac has a dehumidifier mode for humid summers. Washing machines are on the 4th & 7th floor. You can use SUICA card to pay or just use 100 yen coins. You can also use laundry service the hotel provides it if you ask. There’s a laundry list slip form by the hotel lobby along with other hotel amenities + a postal service luggage form to fill and arrange by the hotel staff if you need it.

The hotel location is great when traveling around Tokyo central and surprisingly the nights are peaceful and quiet. I don’t hear other tourists except when I open my hotel door room then there’s other tourists speaking loudly in the hallway and other floors. Most of the floors are accessible without needing to scan your hotel room keycard, so security is a bit of a concern. Hopefully the hotel improves on that.

I did not get breakfast but the breakfast hallway tends to get crowded when I passed by but luckily searching for food isn’t difficult. There’s cafes and restaurants around the area along with several convenience stores (7-Eleven, Family Mart, Lawson and etc). There’s also some drug stores/pharmacy nearby the hotel.

When searching for this hotel and navigating Tokyo Metro, I highly suggest to look for Exit 4, not Exit 3. Then there’s signs for Exit 4b, behind Exit 4b is an elevator. It will be easier for people with large heavy luggages/baby stroller/wheelchair users to use this route. Exit the elevator, walk straight, there should be a Family Mart on your left and across the road would be the hotel entrance.

The room is a bit small but I guess it is common in Japan, especially in Tokyo town. Location wise, it’s a short walk to kanda station and also a walkable distance to Tokyo station. Kanda JR station basically is good enough. Access to chuo line and Yamanote line. These 2 lines are good enough to go ueno, akihabara, shibuya, shinjuku, ikebukuro. And this station also hold the ginza metro line.
And nearby otemachi station who has access to most of the subway lines.
There are convenience stores nearby, 7-11 just next to it.

A very convenient and reliable stay for solo travellers. The biggest advantage is its direct connection to TCAT (Tokyo City Air Terminal)—you can get from the airport bus straight into the building without stepping outside, which makes arrivals and departures incredibly smooth. The hotel is also close to multiple train lines, so getting around Tokyo is effortless.
Rooms are compact but well‑designed, clean, and quiet, offering everything needed for a comfortable, fuss‑free stay. Staff are polite, efficient, and helpful in the classic Tokyo style. It’s not a luxury property, but the combination of safety, convenience, and strong value makes it an excellent base for solo travel.

This hotel offers excellent value for money. Although it is a little bit far from the station, everything else makes up for it. The room is quite small, but it is very well designed, clean, and thoughtfully equipped.

I was pleasantly surprised that the room even includes a hair dryer, hair styling tools (such as a hair straightener/curling iron), and various toiletries. Despite the compact size, everything you need is provided and arranged nicely.

Overall, it is a small but refined place to stay. For the price, I think it is definitely worth it, and I am very satisfied with my stay.

I arrived quite late due to a night flight, but the front desk staff was still available to check me in. The night view was absolutely stunning; the garden on the 14th floor, combined with the misty rain, made for incredibly picturesque photos (I'm terrible at photography, so I couldn't do it justice!). The front desk provided a full array of toiletries and towels, and the bed was very comfortable, though the room was a bit small. I thought all restaurants in the Minato area would be closed after midnight, but I found a small eatery just a 10-minute walk away. The food was delicious and quite affordable!

Before check in time I left our luggage there and came back at 10pm, I was pleasantly surprised when they kept our luggage in our room.On rainy days they place some umbrellas at the entrance for guests to use. Reception staffs were all very pleasant and very helpful. Thank you for your hospitality 🥰. Laundry machine only 2 available and we had to check every night to see if it was available.Managed to use it on our last day.Walkable distance to few metro station.I did enjoy my stay here

The hotel was clean and tidy, and the breakfast was quite substantial, even offering grilled fish. The only downside was the limited variety of hot dishes. The complimentary hot springs and sauna were impressive, with both large and small pools, all very clean, and free juice available. The front desk service was top-notch; they were very welcoming and helpful, and English communication was seamless.

This is my second time staying here. It's really convenient, quite close to both JR Sannomiya and Hankyu Sannomiya stations. Right next to the hotel there's a really well-stocked Hankyu OASIS supermarket, which is super handy for groceries. The hotel rooms are clean, and they offer complimentary tea and drinks from afternoon till evening, plus there's a happy hour.
