I stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights and overall had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent, making it convenient to travel and access nearby attractions. The bed was very comfortable, allowing me to rest well throughout my stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the amenities provided were very good and met all my needs.

However, one downside was the breakfast. While the quality of the food was acceptable, the variety was quite limited. The breakfast menu was the same as the previous day, which felt repetitive during my stay. Overall, it is a nice hotel with great comfort and facilities, but the breakfast could be improved with more variety.

I booked the wrong hotel by mistake, but the location is just as convenient. It's an older five-star hotel, and the service is still up to par. They even thoughtfully gave us mooncakes since we checked in just before the Mid-Autumn Festival. The pool is very comfortable. However, the room decor really needs an upgrade; I'm looking forward to seeing a much-improved environment next time I stay. The dim sum at the 7th-floor restaurant is excellent.

Our stay in the Executive Suite was excellent. The room was spacious, with a separate living room and bedroom. The facilities were complete and very new, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation with quick hot water. The afternoon tea and evening snacks at the Executive Lounge were top-notch. It was amazing how you could see planes flying overhead just a few minutes walk from the hotel, yet hear absolutely nothing in the room – the soundproofing was superb. The room also offered expansive views, plenty of natural light throughout, and attention to detail was impeccable. Overall, it exceeded our expectations in terms of value for money.

The small garden behind the hotel was a delightful surprise; it was lush, tranquil, and elegant. It was perfect for a stroll in the morning, after meals, or in the evening. 

P.S. On our first morning, we chose to have breakfast on the first floor. The staff member who greeted us showed us to our table and asked what we'd like to drink, but no one ever brought it to us. If the staff are too busy, it's probably better not to ask guests what they want to drink out of courtesy!

This hotel is perfectly located in Yuexiu District, right next to a subway station. It's also conveniently situated next to Friendship Store, making shopping a breeze. Plus, getting to any attraction is super easy. Both the baggage service and the gentleman at the front desk were incredibly warm and helpful. They even upgraded my room! The hotel's night view is stunning, and there are many international guests here. I initially stayed for one night and then extended for two more. Very satisfied!

The hotel's location is right in the heart of Shamian, which is perfect for exploring the area. The service was also excellent, but the heating was a bit of an issue. It didn't seem to be adjusted adequately for the daily temperature changes. On the day we visited, it was quite cold, and there was no heating in the hotel, which definitely needs improvement.

I absolutely love this hotel! Turn left and then left again outside, and in no time at all, you're greeted by a breathtaking view of lush trees and vibrant flowers. The hotel's architecture and interior design also have so much character, truly living up to its century-old reputation. Not only are there four bottles of mineral water in the room, but there's also bottled drinking water available in the public areas on every floor, perfectly satisfying the needs of any 'water buffalo' (someone who drinks a lot of water). I especially loved how the room was bathed in sunlight all day long. The only minor downsides are the lack of a chaise longue or even just a simple single armchair, and the body lotion, which really needs an upgrade to match the beauty of this unforgettable hotel.

Hygiene: Surprisingly clean and tidy.
Facilities: I had seen some negative reviews mentioning outdated facilities, but my room was actually quite good. The hotel exterior looks old, but the interior must have been renovated.
Environment: You need to swipe your card to use the elevator, which adds to the security.
Service: The front desk staff was very nice and even allowed a late check-out.

The hotel is in a very convenient central location, surrounded by famous attractions like the Provincial People's Government, Yuexiu Park, and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. It's also incredibly close to the Memorial Hall metro station, just a few hundred meters away, making getting around super easy. All the staff, from top to bottom, are extremely polite and make you feel right at home. The rooms are also very comfortable, and the hotel even provides complimentary welcome fruit, which is a lovely touch. If needed, you can communicate with the hotel to extend your check-out until 2 PM, which is a fantastic and very thoughtful feature. Overall, for my next trip to Guangzhou, Guangdong Hotel will definitely be my top choice – it's excellent!

This is my top choice for business trips. The hotel is state-owned and has a long history. Check-in and check-out are efficient, the room is quiet ensuring a good night's sleep, and the lighting is suitable for working. The bedding is comfortable and helps alleviate travel fatigue, perfect for those who prefer a firm mattress. There's plenty of hot water for showering. The front desk and housekeeping staff provide thoughtful service. Parking is very convenient, and the laundry room is a great amenity. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Yuexiu District, just a 3-minute walk from Exit D12 of Metro Line 1. It has its own courtyard, and the rooms are very clean and spacious, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. When I mentioned to the front desk that my room was cold, the staff quickly brought me a heater, demonstrating outstanding service. The food at the Hongmian Restaurant on the first floor of Baiyun Tower is also delicious. Highly recommended.

September 2024
We traveled to Meizhou from Shezhen.
Being from Australia with limited communication we struggled to get a DiDi not realising we were in the wrong town wanting a long trip.

We contacted White Swan hoping they could help us get transport. The lovely ladies Alice and Anna made every attempt to get us a DiDi so late at night and they had a friend who was able to get us from the train station.
Once he was at Meizhou train station and couldn’t locate us. Alice suggested we share location on WeChat. it was then that we all realised we were in the wrong town.

We had accidentally got off the train at the station before Meizhou, Xingningcun

Alice & Anna were so kind and offered to help find us accommodation for the night as it was already midnight.
We didn’t really want to because it will interfere with our schedule but there were no more trains.  The ladies understood and 
said they could ask her DiDi driver friend but no guarantee as he had finished work for the night.
She asked if he would be willing to travel the 1.5 hours to Xingning South Railway station at 1am to come get us.
Which would actually have him driving for 3 hours for us.
It was a late night but we are so grateful that they tried so hard to communicate with us and make us feel safe and cared for. He was wonderful and because of his kindness we reached out to him many times during our stay. The staff especially Anna and Alice were amazing. Thank you for making our first visit to China a memorable experience.

Because of the 2024 experience, we have chosen to stay at White Swan Guest House. They continue to go above and beyond, and it was great to reconnect with Alice again.

The hotel is located in Songkou Ancient Town, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. The location is excellent. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The hotel's exterior is beautiful, and even more picturesque on rainy days. 😍😍
The hotel is a renovated historic building, and some of the design elements (such as the windows) retain their nostalgic character. 🏠🏠 The rooms are bright, clean, and very comfortable.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, sharing detailed information about nearby attractions. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It was pouring rain when we checked out, but the front desk staff not only reminded us to drive to the hotel's location, but also held an umbrella for us and helped us load our luggage into the car. Very thoughtful. 🥰🥰🥰

I was so pleased with my stay at the Yuyu Hotel during my trip to Chaozhou! The room was simple yet cozy, and the bedding was clean and soft, making for a wonderfully restful night's sleep. The hotel also had comprehensive amenities, including a laundry room and a gym. The breakfast was plentiful, offering authentic local cuisine. The front desk service was friendly, and the trip was incredibly hassle-free. I'll definitely be back!

Hygiene: Spotlessly clean.

Facilities: The smart home features were a bit finicky. At night, the toilet would often auto-flush and open its lid even when no one was around. The lights also had a sound sensor, turning on with any noise when I was trying to sleep. Furthermore, the shampoo and shower gel bottles were constantly knocked off by the shower hose and were difficult to dispense. These are areas that definitely need improvement.

Facilities (positive aspects): On the positive side, the bathtub was excellent, complete with disposable bath liners and bath salts. Disposable toilet seat covers and other small amenities showed great attention to detail.

Environment (positive aspects): It was also lovely to enjoy a drink and moonlight on the rooftop in the evening. Both the room and balcony were very spacious, as was the bathroom. The toilet was pristine, with no odd stains, which speaks volumes about their hygiene standards.

Environment (location): The hotel's location within a pedestrian street was perfect for shopping and sightseeing. However, parking outside the hotel proved to be a major inconvenience.

Service (overall impression): I specifically chose this hotel because of the White Swan brand, and overall, I had a very positive experience. 👍
