Cheap Hotels in Kaohsiung

"The combined toilet and shower was a bit inconvenient, but for this area, I think it's a reasonably priced place to stay. It was relatively clean, but the changing room for the public bath had quite a bit of hair accumulated. Compared to Japanese bath facilities, it might feel a bit lacking (no mirrors, no conditioner, high step to enter the bath), but I was grateful to have a public bath. Since there were no mirrors, I tried to look at my reflection in a magic mirror and almost tripped over a step. There are steps in odd places, and the bath entrance is also high; if you trip and hit it, it would hurt. You need to change into slippers when you exit the elevator. The stairs seem to be for staff only. It might be better not to put things on the stairs. Isn't that regulated by fire safety laws?"

"The accommodation is conveniently located near several convenience stores, including 7-11, as well as other shops and restaurants. The train station is also within walking distance, making it easy to get around. One nice feature of the property is the complimentary snacks, drinking water, tea, and coffee available 24 hours a day on the ground floor for guests. The room itself was not very large, but the twin beds were comfortable and adequately sized. The bathroom was also a reasonable size — neither too small nor too large — and the soap and shampoo provided smelled very nice. Breakfast requires guests to reserve a time slot in advance so the dining area can be managed comfortably for all guests. There was a good variety of food available, and guests could enjoy the breakfast freely during their reserved time period. Check-out time was relatively early at 11:00 AM, but guests are able to leave their luggage at the property afterward if needed. Overall, the price felt somewhat high compared to the room quality and facilities provided. However, considering the convenient location, it was still reasonably acceptable to some extent."

"The hotel smelled awful because the ground floor is full of dried seafood vendors selling things like dried fish and squid jerky. The fishy smell wafting up the elevator shaft was unbearable. The rooms and facilities are really old and in dire need of a complete renovation."

"The place was very clean and the staff were kind, polite, and spoke English well. They explained everything clearly from the beginning and gave me a full tour of the property. There is a dining area, and before taking the elevator, you need to change your shoes. Each guest has a room number and should place their shoes in the matching shoe rack. I recommend adding the hotel’s Line account — they will send all the details there. No key is needed to access the room; everything is done using codes. The room is spacious and has a large locker for storage. The shared bathroom was clean and fully equipped with essentials like a toothbrush and towels (including small ones). There is also a modern laundry area that connects two parts of the building through the same door — it feels like one place, not two. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the BTS station, which is very convenient. The only downside is that the entrance was confusing when I first arrived. The map pin showed a laundromat, but the actual entrance is on the back side of the building. Overall, a great stay. I recommend it."

"The room was bigger than I expected. You'll need to bring your own toiletries like toothbrushes. When checking in, remember to confirm your details with the staff and also register for breakfast the next day. The breakfast had a great selection and generous portions! 👌🏻"

"The building itself seems a bit old, so it feels somewhere between a guesthouse and a hotel. It's perfectly adequate if you just need a place to sleep. (If you're out sightseeing, eating, and drinking until late, and just come back to shower and sleep, you probably won't have any complaints.) There are coin laundries on both sides, and even a minor convenience store, so it's not inconvenient at all. You can also walk to areas with many restaurants in just a few minutes, so you won't have trouble finding food. It's a very quiet area, so you can enjoy a peaceful night. From my room, I could see the Love River, which offered a nice view. Self check-in and check-out were hassle-free, and the staff's service was excellent. (They were very helpful with my inquiries during my stay.) I think it offers good value for money, so I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind if the room or facilities are a bit old and not very stylish. (My room even had air conditioning, a TV, a refrigerator, and a fan, which I actually appreciated!)"

"A very convenient location which is just right by the airport and SMK Outlet, the front desk service is superb being that they remembered that I need taxi services in early mornings for both days while we are staying in. I will definitely stay in the same hotel when I come to Kaohsiung again, thanks!"

"The location is very convenient; there's a PX Mart supermarket less than a minute away, plenty of restaurants nearby, and it's close to Chengcing Lake, just a bus ride away. Unfortunately, themed rooms need to be booked in advance. The hotel thoughtfully provides instant noodles, and the Chinese breakfast is plentiful. Nearby restaurants like Kueh Ri Tei, Oyster Vermicelli, and Live Shrimp Dishes are delicious."

"The room was very clean, and it even came with an iPad sound system for music. The large bed was super comfortable, though a bit firm. The only slight downside was that the air conditioning was quite loud and affected my sleep a bit. On the bright side, the shower had great water pressure, which was really nice, and the hairdryer was powerful enough. The breakfast the next day was surprisingly amazing! For the price, it's incredibly good value for money. I used to stay at Delicacy Hotel, but after staying here, I'd definitely choose this one for the same price point. The Penghu restaurant next door is also delicious – highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kaohsiung!"

"Staying at the King's Town Hotel for my trip to Kaohsiung was an excellent choice; it's a fantastic older four-star hotel, and I was very satisfied! Hope to see you again next time! Service: The front desk service was excellent. They offer free luggage storage both before check-in if you arrive early and after check-out. The service was very enthusiastic, and the room was cleaned daily. The breakfast was also very good and delicious. Cleanliness: The hotel was clean and tidy. They provide room tidying service, which is very thoughtful. It was very clean. Environment: The hotel's location is great, directly opposite Kaohsiung Station, just a five-minute walk away. There are also many delicious food spots nearby worth checking out. It's very convenient for taking the train and MRT. Facilities: The facilities are classic but very comprehensive. The bed was extremely comfortable. The older rooms have traditional keys for entry, which is quite unique. The elevator was under maintenance when I arrived, but it was already fixed by the time I checked in after dinner."
