Our Holiday Inn - the niu, Loco Munich North in Munich's Domagkpark district is inspired by the history of steam engines. The name is reminiscent of the former Hirschau ironworks near the English Garden, which produced locomotives more than 175 years ago. The elegant travel of that time picks up the design in pastel colors and elements such as gold-colored connecting rods, railroad wheels, or rails.
The nearby English Garden is ideal for jogging, and the U6 subway takes you to the center in ten minutes from the "Studentenstadt" station. You can leave your car in the underground garage for a fee.
In our Holiday Inn - the niu, Loco Munich North, the Living Lobby invites you to relax with comfortable seating, free high-speed WiFi and books. You can also work here in a relaxed co-working space. The reception desk is staffed around the clock. If you're feeling hungry, you can always turn to the 24-hour bar. We offer a rich breakfast buffet every morning for the perfect start to the day.
In our 191 air-conditioned double rooms with soundproof windows that can be opened, you can expect the latest standards: 40-inch flat screen with satellite TV, invisible sound system, Chromecast, and screen mirroring. WiFi is included. On request, we also provide a complimentary water kettle and tea station for you. If you like it particularly quiet, we can reserve a room facing the inner courtyard for you. For children we'll gladly set up an extra bed or a crib.
"I understand that accommodation during Oktoberfest can be very expensive. I booked my room three months in advance because I needed to apply for a visa, and I didn't notice that the cancellation period was until August 30th. My check-in dates were September 28th-30th. To my surprise, the price dropped by almost 500 RMB when I checked in. I ended up complaining to Ctrip, and thankfully, they compensated me. This is why I've trusted Ctrip for 20 years.
The hotel's location is quite remote, situated in a transportation dead end. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the nearest supermarket or subway station. Parking is also difficult, though you might find free parking spots at the intersection 20-30 meters before the hotel, if you're lucky.
The breakfast at the niu hotels is generally good, better than Holiday Inn Express, both in terms of variety and quality.
It's best to avoid rooms on the top floor of this hotel. Since it's a converted building, the air conditioning units are on the roof, and the noise is very bothersome."
