"My stay at Nono Hotel Nara was excellent overall. The hotel is right next to JR Nara Station, making it super convenient for getting around. The lobby has an authentic Japanese style, where you need to take off your shoes and they provide clean socks, which adds a nice touch to the experience. Although the room wasn't huge, it was well-designed, clean, and tidy, with a comfortable bed. The biggest highlight was the natural hot spring on the first floor, featuring both indoor and outdoor pools. After a soak, you can even enjoy free ramen and ice cream! Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted great. The only minor downside is that being close to the station, you might hear some train noise early in the morning. All in all, it's great value for money and highly recommended for anyone visiting Nara."

"Good: Good cost performance, Good staff, great variety of food, convenient location - next to train station and convenience stores, signs are in english and Japanese. Staff have limited english skills which is ready good for simple requests I think.
Bad: room seems to have no air conditioning (cool cold air) - the ”air condition” dail only has fan speed not temperature and it blows warm air. The window gives cold air but can be noisy, especially at day time with construction work going on nearby unless window is left very slightly ajar.
Overall it's fine but not sure how good it is in the summer without air-conditioning."

"This is a great option if you want a budget option that is still reasonably comfortable and clean. You get a physical key as the room key and there and then you know that it is a dated hotel. And that also means anyone can access the hotel room floors, and thankfully, there was no security issues throughout our stay.
Besides that, the hotel room amenities are acceptable and we enjoyed using the bathroom supplies very much. We booked the Large Twin Room which also means our bath area and toilet are in separate rooms, which is great. The bathroom has the traditional bath house concept with the stool and low mirror, which made our bath time fun for the kids and interesting for adults.
We like that fresh towels were provided daily even if we put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door knob. Housekeeping would leave the items in a plastic bag outside your door, including bottles of mineral water. Yes, bottled water is provided for free here, which is perfect.
The hotel staff were very friendly. Lifts were spacious and worked perfectly. There were no bugs in the room. Our non-smoking room also smelled fine - no odd or bad smell/odour. The location is also easy for taxi drivers to find.
There's also a Family Mart and 7-11 less than 5 minutes away. While you're there, check out Yakinikukotora, just 5 minutes away - a great place to go for dinners and suppers; I believe they close at 3am.
All in all, it was a pleasant stay."

"This has to be my favourite hotel in Japan. Firstly, the hotel is close to Nara Station, about a 3 minutes walk away. Room is spacious, and plenty of free consumables provided in the lobby. Filtered water dispenser is also available at the lobby. I think there was some food or snacks provided at night, but I came back to the hotel too late, only to find an empty tray with crumbs only.
Breakfast is a mix of traditional Japanese cuisine and Western breakfast items, and I was super impressed with the Japanese style breakfast! Please, you have to try the breakfast if you’re staying here."

"The 12 tatami room was very spacious and clean, and the room smelled refreshing. Moreover, Japanese hospitality and their attention to detail made the whole stay very pleasant. Both breakfast and dinner were amazing. We also informed the Ryokan that this was our 6th anniversary trip and they gave us free photography, which was lovely! "Great location a couple of minutes walk from the Kintetsu line station and tons of restaurants. Check-in was a fun and unusual experience! The room was spotlessly clean, the King bed was huge and the room was super quiet. All the amenities you could need: shrink wrapping clothes, microwave, laundry machines…and best of all free luggage storage. Had we realised this we would have saved the 2700yen we spent on lockers at the station. Breakfast had a great selection. We loved it so much we booked the Kyoto branch for our next nights stay, where we have just checked in to today."

"Pleasant stay with my husband, mum and auntie. The place was clean and very near the the shopping street.
There is no lift, elderly might have trouble with their heavy luggage. The 2 private onsen bath has to be 'reserved' by taking the timing key chains at the counter."

"This hotel holds the high standard of their group as usual.
Firstly, I thought the service was not sincere as the front deck refused to reserve the restaurant for us (there were 2 other hotel's front desk rejected in this Dec 2025 trip too). But then they offered tremendous help when I encountered parcel problem and which is out of what they need to offer.
That's really helpful.
The superior twin room is good for family of 4 with children under 12 years old.
We put together the beds and there were spaces for4 big luggage to pack and tidy up things.
Thank you to the entire front desk for their help.
The downside was the breakfast really average and I only recommend to try once if you are staying long."
