According to our guests, the location of this hotel is one of the best around. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"Overall, we had a great stay at the Warwick Allerton and would definitely stay here again. For the price, the location and quality of the room were hard to beat. The location is excellent, right on the Magnificent Mile and about a 10-minute walk from both the Grand and Chicago Red Line stations. It made a great base for exploring the city, and it was easy to come back to the hotel whenever we wanted to rest during the day. We arrived around 11 AM, well before the 4 PM check-in time, hoping to store our luggage. There is a luggage storage area near the entrance for $2 per piece. Unfortunately, this was probably the most frustrating part of our stay. We waited about five minutes for an attendant, who then directed us upstairs to see if we could check in early. Early check-in was available for around $30 if a room was ready, but since we already had plans, we decided to just store our bags. We were sent back downstairs, where the attendant was gone again, and we waited about 15 minutes along with several other guests before someone returned. Given how many guests arrive before check-in, I wish the luggage storage process were a little more efficient. When we returned around 4:30 PM, however, check-in was quick and seamless. The employees were friendly and efficient, and retrieving our luggage was surprisingly fast as well. Our room was on the 22nd floor and was lovely—clean, bright and comfortable, with a great view of the surrounding city blocks. We booked a king room, and it was a genuinely large king-size bed, which was definitely worth the upgrade. The bedding was especially soft and luxurious. The pillows were decent, although a couple were slightly lumpy, and the bed frame was a little squeaky. There was plenty of lighting and conveniently placed power outlets throughout the room. The bathroom was small but stylish and made good use of the space. The shower had decent water pressure, and the water could get VERY hot, which I appreciated. There were a few minor downsides. Our room was directly across from the elevators, so we could sometimes hear them arriving and people getting on and off. There are five main elevators serving a large hotel, and we occasionally had to wait a few minutes for one, especially during busier times. Street noise could also be surprisingly noticeable from the 22nd floor when particularly loud motorcycles or cars went by. The AC worked well enough and kept the room comfortable, but it seemed to bottom out around 68°F. I personally like my hotel rooms absolutely freezing, so I supplemented it with a portable fan. Housekeeping was great throughout our stay. They made the bed, replaced towels daily and were always friendly. Despite those relatively minor complaints, this was a very comfortable and cozy stay. We actually ended up spending quite a bit of time relaxing in the room because it was such a pleasant place to come back to after exploring Chicago. Between the comfortable room, friendly staff, fantastic location and very reasonable price, I thought the Warwick Allerton offered excellent value. I would happily stay here again."

Hotel near Chicago Loop,Chicago
The HI Chicago Hostel provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The HI Chicago Hostel is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Chicago. The hotel is conveniently located just 400m from Van Buren Street Station and 16km from Chicago Midway International Airport. Just a short walk from Harrison Metro Station, traveling to most city destinations is a breeze. Famous local attractions The Chicago Theater, Willis Tower and CIBC Theatre, can all be reached with a short walk. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic.

"A classic Hi USA hostel. For 400 RMB, getting a bunk in the South Loop is something to be grateful for. The location is excellent: a bus stop is just across the street to the south, a metro station to the north, and Grant Park to the east. Most major attractions are even within a 20-minute walk. The water dispenser is only on the second floor, which is quite inconvenient. Having to go downstairs every time to get water is a bit of a hassle. The downsides are clear: the decor is a bit dated, and there are no bed curtains. Plus, it's right next to the elevated Loop 'L' train tracks, so the noise is noticeable. Those with poor sleep quality will have a tough time. Personally, I don't mind; it's part of Chicago's character. There are lockers in the room for your belongings, just remember to bring your own lock. Each room has a sink outside the door, with separate bathrooms and toilets. The bathrooms are equipped with shower gel and shampoo, and amenities are restocked promptly. However, the shower water pressure in the room is insufficient. I also tried the communal showers, and the water pressure there was much better than in the room, making for a much more comfortable wash. The cleaning staff are efficient, promptly removing dirty towels and emptying trash cans. The front desk staff are very friendly, and you can ask them for fresh towels even late at night. In summary: For 400 RMB, what more can you ask for from a bunk bed within the Loop?"

"The front desk staff were warm and friendly. They were very patient with me, even though my English isn't great, and used translation software to help. My room had a city view; while it wasn't a lake view, I could see the tall buildings outside. The room was spacious, and although the decor was a bit dated, it was exceptionally clean. You have to pick up bottled water yourself from the front desk. The location is superb, directly across from the lakeside and a park. It's within walking distance of Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. The Magnificent Mile and Chicago River are a bit further to walk, but the #3 bus right outside the hotel makes it very convenient to get there. It's close to the business district, near the subway, and there's a Macy's nearby. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and there's even a Starbucks on the first floor of the hotel, making it very easy to grab things. The hotel opened in 1920-something, so it's almost a century old and many historical figures have stayed here. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip."

Germaphobes can rest easy - the level of cleanliness is highly rated at this hotel. Perfect for those working on the move, this hotel caters to a large number of business guests.

"The hotel is clean with daily house keeping which is perfect. The room was facing the main road so even I’m not sensitive to sound still can hear it quite clearly. The hair dryer was missing and the house keeper aware of it when (s)he cleaned the room before we check-in. Kind of strange! 24 hours free shuttle bus to the airport is great. A 10-minute walk from the Blue Line Cumberland Station is quite convenient. It would be very helpful if the hotel could provide walking directions from the station to the hotel. We were lucky to meet two locals early in the morning who guided us safely to the metro station. However, we saw three tourists struggling to cross the busy road and jaywalking to reach the hotel. It’s quite dangerous without any clear signs or directions for guests walking from the metro station. There is no kettle in the room or hot flask on each floor so it’s troublesome to get hot water from the restaurant on ground floor."

"The hotel is quite close to the exhibition center, about a 30-minute walk. There's a park nearby, and it's not far from the lake either. However, the hotel staff had a poor attitude; they were unwilling to provide disposable toiletries, though the guy who helped with luggage storage was good. The room facilities are old, soundproofing is bad, and the bathroom has no extractor fan – the alarm even went off after a shower if the door wasn't closed. It's definitely not worth $350 a night."
