Chicago Hotels with Kitchens

"A classic Hi USA hostel. For 400 RMB, getting a bunk in the South Loop is something to be grateful for. The location is excellent: a bus stop is just across the street to the south, a metro station to the north, and Grant Park to the east. Most major attractions are even within a 20-minute walk. The water dispenser is only on the second floor, which is quite inconvenient. Having to go downstairs every time to get water is a bit of a hassle. The downsides are clear: the decor is a bit dated, and there are no bed curtains. Plus, it's right next to the elevated Loop 'L' train tracks, so the noise is noticeable. Those with poor sleep quality will have a tough time. Personally, I don't mind; it's part of Chicago's character. There are lockers in the room for your belongings, just remember to bring your own lock. Each room has a sink outside the door, with separate bathrooms and toilets. The bathrooms are equipped with shower gel and shampoo, and amenities are restocked promptly. However, the shower water pressure in the room is insufficient. I also tried the communal showers, and the water pressure there was much better than in the room, making for a much more comfortable wash. The cleaning staff are efficient, promptly removing dirty towels and emptying trash cans. The front desk staff are very friendly, and you can ask them for fresh towels even late at night. In summary: For 400 RMB, what more can you ask for from a bunk bed within the Loop?"

"lobby is on the 2nd floor, check in was a breeze, no need to see the passport .. just gave me the key and we were set to go we stayed for 4 nights, but there was no Cleaning done.. i have to request for an extra towel since we are 4 in a room and they only provided for 2. we run out of body soap in the next day and had to pick it up in the lobby , and no one came to install it .. so we just put it in the corner.. not on the wall location was good, easy to get into public transport , if not too sensitive its a walking distance to the magnificent mile.. gym was Ok , laundry service is 3$ each cycle.. and you need to install an app to pay... and you can't load exact amount so if you are going to do a single laundry just use the credit card you pay 3.25 though, but you only pay for what you use.. apple pay or tap to pay not working.. so bring your CC with you, another thing, if you use the app, it will let you know if the laundry is done.. but some people still don't come down to remove their clothes to need to ask the lobby to take it out and put in the rack provided breakfast was nothing special., if you wake up late many people already and hard to find a table, and the refill is not too fast.. only a handful of variety for the food. coffee and tea are available the whole day as long as its not yet depleted.."

"The service was very good. A Chinese male waiter at the front desk was very nice and helped us a lot. He arranged a very good lake view room for us. The location and environment are very good. Recommended."

"The room is very comfortable, with its own kitchen. There is a small supermarket and **Jiu next to it. It is very comfortable to eat or cook. The apartment is fully equipped with washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, laundry detergent, stoves, tableware, and even detergent and scouring pads. This price-performance ratio is unbeatable in Chicago. It is a bit regrettable that the bed is relatively small, and it is a bit crowded for two people to sleep. The air conditioner is very noisy."

"The facilities were good. The check in staff was excellant and very accommodating. Upon my return I discovered a 40.00 charge on my card. When I called to get a explanation of this I was placed on a lengthy hold then asked for my confirmation number which I had to look up as it was not readily available. When I returned to the call it was disconnected. Had to call back hold again then asked for last name not confirmation number. So a bit confused about that. Then told that the charge was 40.00 for parking, surprise surprise. I don't mind the fee, the surprise I do mind as well as the condescending, surly attitude from the person I spoke with. Think I'll choose some where else on my next trip to chicago."

"The room is very narrow and the hotel is a bit old. There is a public lounge area for coffee, tea and work. It is next to the Chicago River and is quite noisy. There are many tourist buses at the door."

One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming. The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly. Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises. I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again."

"The location is great, with a CVS and a Jewel Osco nearby, and it's within walking distance to the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park. The facilities are a bit old, especially the carpet which looked quite dirty. Housekeeping started knocking on our door at 8 AM every morning 😮💨, yet when we returned to the hotel in the evening, the room hadn't been cleaned. Upon check-in, I noticed the bottled water was priced at $3 a bottle, free for members. So I didn't drink any of the hotel's water. However, after checking out, my credit card was charged $6 for water. It's not a lot of money, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, Trip.com customer service was very helpful and negotiated with the hotel for a refund, which I'm still waiting to receive."

"The room was spacious and grand, about 50-60 square meters, and the bathroom was also quite large, around 10 square meters. My room on the 25th floor even had a kitchen, and the night view from the window was stunning, which was a pleasant surprise. The terrace of Terrace 16 Restaurant on the 16th floor offers the most beautiful views of the Chicago River, perfect for lunch or afternoon tea. The front desk staff who checked me in was excellent. They informed me about the Trump Spa on the 14M floor and that I could use its facilities. Later, on the day of my check-out, my friend booked a City Architecture Tour for me which ended at 12:30 PM. I asked if I could extend my check-out until 1:00 PM, and the foreign front desk staff member kindly offered me a 2:00 PM check-out. Overall, the front desk and restaurant staff provided great service, making me feel respected as a guest and not discriminated against. The hotel's facilities and atmosphere are wonderful, making for a very comfortable stay. It was a very pleasant check-in experience."
