I initially booked a basic room, but the owner unexpectedly upgraded me to a suite. Getting a loft suite for half the price was incredible! I loved the skylight, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the outdoor infinity pool—they're so photogenic! The location is fantastic, even on cloudy days, it's still beautiful. The Water Curtain Garden Restaurant for dinner was beautiful, and the seafood was all sourced freshly, so the mussels and fish were incredibly tender! The owner was also enjoying a glass of wine during the evening, so we went downstairs to toast and even had a cocktail he made himself, haha 🍹. Shengshan Island boasts the bluest waters and most beautiful scenery in Shengsi. Dongya Cliff is Shengshan Island's most beautiful attraction, and Waiting for the Wind is Dongya Cliff's most beautiful B&B!

The hotel is very close to the pier and has its own parking lot. The Putuoshan Zhenting Hotel was a fantastic choice! 👍 The hotel is right next to Wugongzhi Pier, making travel very convenient. Newly renovated in 2025, the rooms are spacious. The front desk service was warm and welcoming, the breakfast was plentiful, and the noodles were delicious. Although the elevator was a bit small and the bedding was a little firm, overall it's great value for money.

To be quite honest when we booked this hotel for one night only we didn’t have very high hopes for it. However, the contrary happened. Hilton Zhoushan turned out to be amazing; literally from the first minute that we stepped in we were greeted warmly by front desk staff. They speak very good English and the GM was very nice; once he realised that it’s our little daughter’s first birthday they offered cake and candles. They also brought a nice crib for the baby. Every single staff member’s behaviour was professional and friendly and respectful. On the 19th floor we had an amazing view of the lake and the surrounding landscape. We had a great time and will definitely come back.

Service by the guy who picked us up from the airport is excellent. 10/10!!! Our luggage was damaged during the flight, he called someone to help us repair it. We were short on time for the ferry sailing to Mt Putuo due the weather conditions, that day sailings will be cancelled, (we got to chat in the van when he picked us up from the airport), he said we can just leave the luggages at the front desk and then hurriedly sent us to the port, good thing we made it. That's superb customer service!!! He didn't even want to get a tip, eventually we gave him some dried mango packs from the Philippines. The front desk guy though is a different story, he was super slow, did not know how to handle checking in of foreign passport holders I think. He has our passports and had to ask us our birthdays!! It was also difficult for him to understand the visa dates (expiry and issue dates), and he kept on asking when we arrived, it is just there stamped opposite the visa page, we just actually arrived that day, this is our first hotel. Anyway, free pick up from the airport is best and free sending to the port and then lastly also to the bus station. Great service.

Even though this resort can be a bit dated, it’s still the best international hotel brand that Zhoushan can offer and has maintained certain level of quality that other local hotel brands can’t offer. Our suite rooms are huge with a separate living and dining room, and the Westin brand mattress beddings were simply unbeatable, they’re so plush and soft like heaven. Other resort amenities are also plentiful such as their indoor and outdoor pools but once again they’re a bit dated and extremely crowded from time to time. buffet Breakfast and buffet dinner were great with both local and western options. Overall a nice stay in the Zhoushan area.

The hotel was booked on a last-minute trip. It looked newly opened. The hotel is accessible by car. There are security guards to guide the hotel reception. It feels very good to enter the room. It is very new. There is also Xiaodu, which can control the switches in the room by voice. It is very convenient. You can see the sea while lying on the bed in the room. It is also very convenient to go to the beach. You can walk directly to the beach in 3 minutes. However, the beach is a national scenic spot and is charged. It costs 35 per time, or 50 for a 3-day ticket, which is also very convenient. There are many restaurants opposite the hotel. You can walk there and feel very satisfied.

I stayed here from Dec 24–26, 2025. Overall the hotel was comfortable and clean. I gave it high marks for cleanliness and a good score for service and facilities, which reflects my experience. The room was tidy and the free hot breakfast was a nice touch, making mornings easier. The staff were generally friendly and helpful when asked questions. However, one downside was the location felt a bit spread out from the main shopping and eating streets. I found myself walking quite a long way to get to stores, restaurants, and local sights, which was tiring, even though there are places nearby, they’re not always as close as I expected.

The room lighting is very good, the shower is very comfortable, the water temperature can be controlled and can be adjusted according to your needs; the pillows are one soft and one hard, the duvet is thick and a little hot when covered, the hotel is in a good location, very close to the beach, and it takes about 10 minutes to drive from the pier. In short, this hotel is not bad, worthy of the name of Kaiyuan... The following pictures are around the hotel

Situated just off the beach area of DaDaShuan (sp?) this hotel is perfectly placed to access surfing, water bikes, and other beach activities. It also has a wonderfully clean (heated!) swimming pool. Our room itself was excellent for our little family including baby, but the only gripe I would have is the entertainment options on the TV was severely limited to a few select videos and local channels. So if you want to watch your own films and shows, bring a device as you can use the HDMI on the TV. Also, they’re quietly dog friendly.
