"Yangshuo Sugarhouse has always been a hotel I've wanted to visit, and a serendipitous opportunity finally brought me here, marking my first trip to Yangshuo. True to its pictures, it's exactly as you've seen it. Admittedly, it's no longer a new hotel, and I had some reservations beforehand, as similar-priced hotels in the same category might offer larger, more luxurious options. However, for design enthusiasts, Sugarhouse is special; it's a destination in itself. My first impression was that the hotel is reasonably well-maintained, and the service is always pleasant and attentive. I always assumed these were standard expectations in such hotels, not worth mentioning. Yet, it wasn't until I truly experienced the various facets of Yangshuo that I realized Sugarhouse is an oasis in this bustling, chaotic, and often less-than-pleasant destination. Yangshuo is beautiful, but its natural charm isn't always enough to offset some disappointing tourist experiences. You might exert a lot of effort trying to soak in the legendary landscapes, only to be left unsatisfied, perhaps due to early mornings or overwhelming crowds. But at Sugarhouse, you can intimately connect with Yangshuo's mountains and rivers, as they are right outside your room, beyond the iconic pool view. During the day, you can fully immerse yourself in nature undisturbed, and as dusk falls, the lights of Impression Liu Sanjie illuminate them, making you a part of the landscape. Finding such tranquility in this destination is incredibly precious, a realization I only had after switching to other hotels. The service here carries a hint of genuine, endearing awkwardness, and you can sense that achieving this level of service isn't easy. The bartender at 1969 Bar recommended a special concoction when I was indecisive, allowing me to savor the last season's season of loquat gin, which was unforgettable. Lucy at the front desk was incredibly helpful in resolving my issues, and when I pointed out some minor flaws in the room, they were already being addressed – truly tiny details that not everyone would notice, demonstrating their genuine care for guests. I met a gentleman at breakfast who enthusiastically and meticulously introduced me to oil tea and proactively helped me carry it to my upstairs seat when my hands were full. On my departure day, I even saw him standing at the lobby entrance at 36 degrees Celsius, assisting guests. Later, I learned he was the hotel's general manager. The people here are sincere and responsible, and what initially felt like minor imperfections transformed into a stark difference after comparison. I can give the experience here full marks. Some friends might find it too boring, with too many cars on the highway outside the rooms. But if you've experienced the endless swarm of electric scooters, the ubiquitous paid parking lots, and the so-called villas that cost 3,000 yuan with no view whatsoever, you'll realize that not only is the pricing here quite fair, but it's also almost the only viable accommodation option in Yangshuo. Of course, this is just for reference if you don't plan on venturing out, but Sugarhouse still offers many interesting services that make it a highly recommendable choice."

"This is the best hotel in Yangshuo. Compared to The Sugarcane, VOCO, Hwa Peng, and Banyan Tree, it offers the best value for money. The staff are well-trained and provide genuine assistance. Even after checking out, they continued to answer all our questions about our itinerary. We stayed in the Jingxuan Villa, which was comfortably sized with excellent facilities. The nightly turndown gifts were a lovely touch. The travel photography service was also good, and the photographer had a great attitude. The entire garden landscape is beautifully maintained, and the various small animals like peacocks, geese, ducks, goldfish, and alpacas provided a wonderful and relaxing experience for guests. If you're driving, the hotel's location isn't remote at all. It's about a 20-minute drive to the Ten-Mile Gallery, and also 20 minutes to take a bamboo raft on the Yulong River. Xingping Ancient Town Pier is only half an hour away. Personally, I think it's far superior to the guesthouses near the Ten-Mile Gallery and Yulong River – there's simply no comparison. We had a wonderful two-night, three-day stay. It left a deep impression on our trip to Yangshuo."

"Hidden deep within the Ten-Mile Gallery, this hotel completely isolates itself from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The sense of escapism, in my opinion, is almost comparable to the Lux* Chongzuo, making for a truly satisfying vacation. As a well-established luxury brand originating from Indonesia, it's impressive how it has rooted itself amidst the natural beauty of Yangshuo while still deeply preserving its Indonesian heritage. For instance, the breakfast features an Indonesian-style set menu, all freshly prepared à la carte. The guest room walls are adorned with traditional Balinese Ubud Batik wax paintings. During turndown service at night, candles are lit to warm aromatic essential oils, replicating the local Balinese pre-sleep ritual. The pool is paved with unique Indonesian stone, appearing grey when dry but revealing a beautiful blue-green hue when submerged in water. The hotel's service and quality are exceptional: the butler's WhatsApp replies were prompt, and despite the high greenery coverage, I wasn't bitten by a single mosquito during my two-day stay, indicating excellent pest control. The 450 sqm single-bedroom standalone villa is spacious, and the private pool is ample in both size and depth. Amenities include Cha Ling toiletries, a brand under LV, and the rooms are equipped with Bose speakers and Laifen hair dryers, ensuring top-notch hardware. It's rare for a hotel to maintain its original quality and standards after many years of operation, unlike many domestic hotels that gradually cut costs and downgrade after just a year or two. If you're looking for an immersive escape into nature in Yangshuo, I truly believe this place is worth a special trip. At the very least, if I get another chance to visit Yangshuo, this will still be my go-to resort for a second stay."

"Stayed for two days and really didn't want to leave 😭 📍 The location is absolutely amazing, and the entire hotel is simple yet clean, with great aesthetics! 👏 The service deserves high praise – the butler group chat is truly not just for show. Any request we mentioned casually was answered and handled instantly. It felt so good to be valued. 🍽️ The food was also excellent, and the best part is that there's afternoon tea every day from 2 PM to 4 PM! Sitting by the pool, holding a cup of tea and gazing at the mountains – who can understand that feeling... Thank you for the warm hospitality these past two days, I'll definitely be back!"

"The hotel is newly renovated, offering an elegant and comfortable atmosphere with stunning, expansive views that truly uplift your spirit. It's also very kid-friendly, featuring a dedicated children's play area where little ones can have a blast. The outdoor area is absolutely incredible, with a pool right next to a large lawn and continuous mountain ranges in the distance, providing uninterrupted natural beauty. The room's soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet night and a very peaceful sleep. Plus, the oversized bathtub in the room is perfect for a truly relaxing soak."

"Right on Yangshuo West Street, it's incredibly convenient for shopping and getting around. The room is very spacious and considered quite high-end for Yangshuo. There's a balcony with a stunning mountain view right outside the door, which is so refreshing for the mind and body. The third-floor platform is great for photos, and the environment is truly lovely. Plus, there's a kids' play area on the first floor, which is perfect for my sister with her little one! We really didn't want to check out."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Tui Blue. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of West street, but only a 12yen didi there. The views are stunning, including of the romance park across the street. Front desk staff were so kind. Breakfast every morning had both Chinese and western options, including fresh noodles being made to order. This hotel takes great pride in their cleanliness and design. Room was amazing. Great views. Great air conditioning. Very comfortable bed. Great water pressure from the shower. Free mini fridge for the first round of drinks, and tea and coffee in the room. Our few things where we would recommend improvements to the hotel: - There was no working AC in the gym. - Gym should have some lighter weights too. - Gym needs a mirror. - Pool towels should be available by the pool. (Unsure if they normally are.. we went out in the rain so possibly during sun they have these readily available). - some small things need to be maintained. (Gym wall leak with mold present, painting around windows peeling off, outdoor plant maintenance, pool tidy of chairs and ensure pool inflatables are actually blown up.These small things aren’t really noticed by everybody, however as a travel agent myself it is what sets luxury hotels apart from others). Overall a really great stay. Would definitely stay again."

"The floor-to-ceiling window in the room offered an absolutely stunning view. Opening the window revealed the green mountains and the Yulong River, making for incredible photos. I specifically chose this hotel for the window view and the swimming pool, and my child absolutely loved it upon arrival. **Environment:** A thousand square meters of lawn plus an infinity pool. The mountain-and-water themed blue pool was perfect for amazing pictures. **Activities:** Free-roaming deer, daily cormorant fishing performances, lacquer fan making, and petting zoo feeding. **Food & Stay:** With its own restaurant, we spent the whole day at the hotel and didn't bother eating out. The hotel food was also excellent, and they even offered free sweet soup in the evening. It was a welcome escape from the noise of crowded guesthouses. The hotel buildings were well-equipped, and the soft furnishings, with their wooden and Instagrammable style, were top-notch. There was no need to rush. We spent the whole day leisurely, relaxing on the lawn, playing in the pool, and feeding the deer. It felt like many hotels and cafes in Yangshuo have great aesthetics, and the scenery is beautiful, but the street aesthetics are truly dismal. This was my child's first travel photoshoot. Usually, they refuse to be photographed, but the Miao ethnic costumes for the photoshoot at the hotel were beautiful and relatively clean, so we were able to get some great shots right there. Thumbs up! The shoot was quick, which was great since it was hot, allowing us to quickly get our photos and head back to the hotel for coffee."

"Traveling to Yangshuo with the kids, we chose the Julong Xiaozhen Mountain & River Resort this time. Opening the window, we were greeted by continuous karst peaks, as if living inside an ink wash landscape painting. Standing on the balcony, we could gaze out at the fields, unique peaks, and a sea of clouds, all filled with fresh greenery. The city's hustle and bustle instantly melted away. The spacious lawn in the yard also had playground facilities that the kids loved. We experienced making intangible cultural heritage lacquer fans, immersing ourselves in the mountain and river culture amidst nature. In the afternoon, we enjoyed afternoon tea by the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking up at the picturesque scenery. This place is truly perfect for a slow-paced family trip, allowing us to quietly enjoy a relaxing vacation surrounded by mountains and rivers without having to rush to crowded scenic spots."

"The hotel is right next to the Yulong River, and opening the window reveals stunning karst peaks. You can watch bamboo rafts drift by from the riverside swing, creating an immersive natural ambiance. The rooms are simple yet refined, equipped with a lighted makeup mirror and a mini-fridge. The spacious balcony with a hanging chair allows you to take in the beautiful mountain scenery without leaving your room. The surrounding amenities are excellent, with an outdoor pool, a large lawn, and sports facilities. The Guilin rice noodles for breakfast have a rich variety of toppings and an authentic taste. The overall environment is clean and tidy, and the service is attentive. Lying here, you can fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Yangshuo, relax, and rejuvenate. It’s perfect for a vacation, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Yangshuo!"
