"A very comfortable stay! The standalone villa offers ample space, and all the in-room hardware and software facilities are comprehensive. My family particularly enjoyed the private hot spring tub and sauna room – everything is incredibly well-maintained and looks brand new. We brought six suitcases, and even with all of them open, there was still plenty of room to move around. Highly recommend this accommodation if you love spacious living. The day before check-in, the host emailed us the room number and access code. We were able to complete the online check-in using the link in the email and received a check-in QR code. Upon arrival, we simply scanned the code to complete the check-in process – super convenient! 👍 Even though it was a completely unstaffed property during our two-night stay, my family didn't feel any inconvenience at all."

"Location about 2 km from Yufuin town and the tourist attractions around Lake Kinrin. So if you come by public transport not driving, it is a bit far. But advantage is serenity. Breakfast is great and service friendly. Onsen in our room is lovely. Just not too used to 1] no phone in room to allow communication with hotel staff; 2] nowhere (such as hooks on the wall or behind doors) to hang clothing or towels - a couple of coat hangers in wardrobe are not enough and 3] no daily cleaning of room."

"It’s the third time we came to Yufuin. Previously, we stayed in onsen hotels with meals provided. This time we are staying for 2 months in Japan to experience the local life, and Yufuin was our third stop, where we stayed for 6 nights. The service is top notch. The host responded very quickly whenever I had queries, and very clear instructions for free pick-up were given days before check-in. As we stepped in the house, the air- conditioner had already been turned on there were 3 big bottles of water in the fridge which made us feel so welcome. They collected our trash every day and asked us what we needed. The guesthouse is an independent unit full of beautiful Japanese decorations. It was sparkling clean and thoughtfully furnished with everything you need. A first-aid box was provided. We were given 12 sets of clean towels and toilet amenities, including toothbrushes. We have stayed in different apartments before and have never experienced this. More importantly, the kitchen was well equipped with everything—many cutlery items of different sizes and even wine glasses. There were a hot pot and a frying pan, a toaster, rice cooker, coffee machine, and even a dishwasher. You can't imagine there is even a massage chair! The bathroom was designed like an onsen. You can simply add some onsen powder to enjoy a hot bath. You can easily access different attractions on foot. The location is about a 20-minute walk to the nearby supermarkets, 25 minutes to the main shopping streets, and 30 minutes to the JR station. If you drive, it is even easier. For us, we enjoyed walking and seeing the beautiful scenery, so it was not a problem for us even though we didn’t drive. Every day we walked to the supermarkets and bought fresh produce to cook. We had so much fun making different dishes and hot pot. When we asked for a whetstone, the host quickly gave us theirs, and the next day, they bought us a new one. They even gave us sake as a gift. On the day of check-out, the host drove us to the JR station and helped us store our luggage in the visitors’ centre. Next time when we come to Yufuin, we will definitely stay here again. It’s really great value for money."

"We fell in love with this villa on first sight! The pictures don’t do it justice at all. The surroundings and rooms are beautiful, and the entire property is newly renovated so it’s clean and modern. We appreciate how the host is generous to provide amenities and toiletries, which makes our stay even more memorable.  The bedding is comfortable, and the towels are also of good quality. Additionally, we also enjoyed the washer and dryer, so we can have fresh clean clothes daily! Very thoughtful indeed!  Overall, it’s an amazing stay at Sokaku Residence and we’ll highly recommend you to book a stay here!"

"The making in the accommodation is the best! The heat was also hard to escape and it was very warm! Only two points, I would say that it would be better if this happened! First of all, the first point is that I wish I had a TV somewhere! I wish I could see Netflix and Amapla! The second point is the sauna facility, but the heat is easy to escape It was a little disappointing because it was 40 〜 50 degrees from beginning to end ... I thought it was very good with aroma in the firewood sauna. If the temperature of the sauna is about 80 〜 100 degrees I thought I had nothing to say!"
