GGuest UserMy first review on Trip and I don't usually bother to write reviews - shows you how much the hotel impressed me. We stayed for 1 night in Capella Sydney as a family of 3.
The hotel facilities were absolutely amazing, decor was gorgeous and food options at Aperture and Brasserie were awesome. However, I won't dwell on these too much as I'm sure when you booked into a Capella brand hotel, you will already assume this as a given right? One highlight in terms of facilities though, was The Living Room, which is assessible to all guests staying in the hotel. It had beverages, snacks, comfy sofas and 6 star service. We spent so much time there chilling with our son and in the end it really became ”our living room”.
Enough of that, let me move on to the service which blew our minds. I'll give you a few examples and hopefully you can see why I feel it would be criminal for me not to write a review.
1. On arrival when we got out of our car and the porters were helping us with our luggage, somehow they addressed me by name. Maybe it's because they saw I had a 2 year old and I was the only guest checking in that day with a small child. Still, I was super impressed. I've only experienced this previously at Aman hotels.
2. Upon checking in, Sophie (I hope I got your name right!) was super helpful and cheerful. When she saw my young son, she also proactively asked if we needed a later check out and if our son needed to nap. She immediately offered to give us 2pm late check out. However, having told her our son actually takes his nap at 2pm, she told us to come back and check with the front desk the next day and they can extend it till 4pm. Remember, I didn't request this, she did this completely out of her own initiative.
3. We didn't book dinner and Sophie referred us to Madiha of the Cultural team. Madiha took note of all our requirements, including the need for the restaurant to be 2 year old friendly, and within 15 mins emailed me a full list of restaurants and their menus for me to choose from while she also served us drinks and snacks at the living room. We eventually picked an Italian restaurant and she made the reservation for us. Fyi, it was scrumptious.
4. After breakfast, we were walking around the lobby and my son walked past the cakeshop and saw a raspberry tart. He really wanted it but I told him we just had breakfast. Ton (?)(I hope I got your name right, the Thai gentleman with a love for cars), the manager came up and said ”you can have the tart for free! It's on the house!”. I was stunned. He also spent so much time talking to my son and showing him pictures of cars, unbelievable.
Shout out also to Matthew (uncle Hao Jun) for being so warm and hospitable to us. Honestly we were feeling so sad leaving the hotel as everyone felt like friends and family to us. One thing is for sure though, we will be back. Absolutely flawless service, kudos to the Capella Sydney team!

The bathrooms are shared, and they offer luggage storage. The management is strict, ensuring a clean and safe environment. Overall, a great experience, and its proximity to the Central Station makes getting around very convenient.

NNuannuandexiatiantianThe corner room was very spacious and comfortable for a family stay. There's also a small balcony. The kitchen is well-equipped with coffee and tea provided. The minibar is chargeable, and there are no toothbrushes or slippers. The only 'bug' was that the third bed in the triple room was in the living room and had a glass door that let in all the light, so we were woken up by the brightness early in the morning.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, the housekeeping staff were very kind, and the breakfast servers were also wonderfully friendly, truly making me feel right at home. I really enjoyed the traditional Western breakfast. The location is also super convenient, just a short walk to the train station. Plus, there's a large shopping mall nearby with a supermarket on its B1 level, perfect for all your daily needs.

CchenqiThe hotel is an established five-star property with an excellent location, and the front desk staff were very friendly. However, the elevators were a major issue. One of the three was out of service for maintenance, and the remaining two were incredibly slow, especially during the day. Waiting for an elevator often took around 15 minutes, which is a significant waste of valuable time. For this reason, I cannot recommend it.

AAnonymous UserVery nice view from our room widows. There are full of different types restaurants on the ground floor. But If you close the window, the sound proof is excellent which I typically want to recommend.
Stuffs are friendly and helpful, willing to give you recommendations if you are first-time visitors. They even wrote a welcome card.
They have a ballroom here just opposite the reception, holding different personal events every night. I like the vibe which means it's popular place and safe.
The hotel is friendly to those who travel with dogs. They have special bed and food for dogs. But we didn't need it and the dog net door barked very early in the morning. We were OK with it.
At the other aspect, the hotel goes too much.
The breakfast is allllll for vegetarians.
Yes, all.
As a guest, you are left with no choice.
This is the only point that I particularly hate. Be whatever you like, just don't push others to do the something, especially when you are running a business.

LlihuarI booked two hotels in the city, both of which were tiny, incredibly small. Perhaps that's just how old buildings are. The facilities were outdated, but I just needed a place to sleep, so I didn't dwell on it. Again, no slippers were provided. In Melbourne and Canberra, at least you could ask the front desk and they'd give you some. Sydney, however, simply doesn't have them. The transportation is incredibly convenient; QVB is right next door and it's a major station.

GGuest UserWe booked this accommodation due to its proximity to a nearby stadium venue, where we were going to in the evening. We were advised by ”in the know friend” that the overall area is not the kind you want to be out socially alone in after dark hours. This was evident, as 2 Police officers were in the sporting club venue, as we arrived back around midnight, looking for a person of interest. This was of no concern to us, we were not asked questions by the police, It's just that the police had the only staff working that night, attending to their needs. As part of the accommodation offer, we were generously offered a free drink of wine or beer. We were looking to have a drink before retiring to our rooms, so the staff were caught up with the police officers. My group did to other things, like checked out the TAB and seating in the bar area while waited. ( all very clean & tidy btw) We were eventually attended to and we move on, No worries there, my comments are just to highlight the overall societal concerns of Greenacres area after dark, as we could briefly hear the conversations and requests between the police and staff.
Nevertheless. just speaking about the accomodation, my room was very clean & tidy, I appreciated the air conditioner being on already, as I entered the room. I had all the basic necessities that I needed: towel, fridge, kettle etc. The bathroom & toilets were shared, it was disappointing to see one that in one of the two toilets available, had broken seat that wasn't hinged to the toilet (it looked untidy and it was unknown for how long the seat has been broken). Overall I was very comfortable, i felt safe, I had a great sleep. The next morning, I took advantage of the 2 minute walk to the nearby supermarket for some groceries, the Sunday morning staff all greeted me with a ”good morning,” which was pleasant to hear and made me smile. Returning items to the fridge in my room, I then went back out for a walk lovely walk in the sunshine along the shopping strip, for fresh coffee & food from one of the many family run bakeries just 1 minute down the street from the accommodation. Overall i had a nice pleasant experience!
