"What a pleasant surprise! This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at during our Chinese New Year trip to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. While it's not a Banyan Tree, the hotel's service, rooms, and food were all excellent. We had all our meals at the hotel, and even though it's halfway up a mountain, there's absolutely no need to bring your own food. The hotel restaurant serves delicious and affordable dishes; we paid less than 100 RMB per person. I highly recommend the Pad Thai – it's fantastic! Breakfast is à la carte, with tea, coffee, and eggs prepared in various ways. There are also poolside activities with an instructor leading aerobics. You can just lie on a beach chair and gaze at the sea, and our room balcony also faced the ocean. The spa was very reasonably priced. The room was huge; the tatami area in the living room could easily sleep three more people, haha. Besides needing a taxi to go anywhere, everything else was perfect. It's a great option if you're staying in Koh Samui for a longer period and want to pair it with a high-end hotel, or if it's your first time in Koh Samui and you plan on taking island excursions. During Chinese New Year, it felt like it was mostly foreigners, with very few Chinese guests. The front desk staff and servers were all very nice, always ready to pick us up with a buggy or help with luggage. We were even greeted with towels and tea upon arrival – the service was absolutely superb!"

"My daughter wanted to stay in a villa, so we chose this hotel, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The hotel was renovated in 2011, so it's a bit old, but it's very well-maintained overall. The lobby is grand and new, and the entire hotel feels like a miniature tropical jungle. Half of it is dedicated to various villas spread out, while the other half has pools connecting the rooms. Even though there are many trees, we didn't encounter any mosquitoes or insects, so the hotel must have treated the area. The hotel has its own beach with white sand and turquoise water. I woke up every day hoping to catch the sunrise, but unfortunately, it rained during my entire stay, so I only saw the morning glow. The hotel service is excellent; they promptly resolve any issues. We stayed in a Grand Bunch Garden Bungalow and added an extra bed. The room's amenities and details were well-maintained, and the shower was very comfortable. The only minor quirk was the traditional key and wooden bolt lock on the door. We didn't know how to lock it at first, so we called the front desk, and they patiently showed us how, haha. The hotel's location is its biggest highlight – right in the heart of Chaweng Beach's liveliest street in Koh Samui! ARK BAR is right next door. Their restaurant serves delicious food, and the beach bar at night is incredibly vibrant! There are fireworks and a fire show every night from 8 PM to 2 AM, allowing us to experience Koh Samui's nightlife up close. Plus, the hotel offers a quiet retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. While it's located on a street filled with bars, restaurants, and massage parlors, the bar noise can be loud at night, so it's a good idea to request a room away from the bar street when booking. There are many massage places and restaurants along the street outside the hotel, all similarly priced and of good quality with clear pricing, so you can choose based on your preference! My family was very satisfied this time, and I'm even writing a review for the first time, haha! 😃"

"The location is fantastic, right on a beautiful beach, with everything you need for a vacation and daily life nearby (massages, cafes, shops, laundromats). The breakfasts are good and tasty (buffet style), and rooms are cleaned daily."

"I had a great time staying here. I liked the breakfast; you could choose what you want to eat. I liked the swimming pool at the beach. Near beach, shops, pharmacy and restaurants. All staff is helpful and friendly."

"The bungalows are beautiful and the pool is also very nice. But the location is not great. The hotel is situated in front of the road on one side and on the other in front of the beach where there is construction so the sea is very dirty. If you don’t rent a scooter during your stay it’s very difficult to move around."

"The resort has a beautiful vibe and the views are stunning. It looks like it’s in need of some good cleaning and maintenance, apparently it’s an older resort that got taken over by a new company last year, so maybe they need some more time. Pros: - beautiful views - good breakfast, almond milk available for drinks at breakfast and you can even order matcha! Excellent service. Vegan options in terms of food are present but limited. - staff is very friendly Cons: - Room smelled humid/moldy. The bed felt damp. - when I asked the receptionist for a dehumidifier or if there was something to do about it I got looked at weird and just got air freshener offered, which is past the point. - Room didn’t look clean (see photos) - mold and chipped off paint everywhere in the room - no gym or fitness area, yoga classes for 300thb an hour instead Keep in mind that there are lots of stairs without railings, so not ideal for children or elderly people."

"Do not book the standard rooms the cleanliness of the bathrooms is terrible. I complained and a day later they moved me to a superior room which was much nicer. Book a superior room. Staff were friendly. Resort it self is lovely right on the beach. On the main strip of restaurants and bars. 3 min walk to lamai night market. Overall decent place to stay. beautiful beach. It is just. Watersports activities available."

"The hotel doesn't quite live up to a 5-star rating. However, it does have pleasant grounds, two pools, and a restaurant. The breakfasts are decent, with a good variety on offer, but they're rather uninspired and not particularly delicious. On the plus side, the coffee is good. The cocktails at the bar during the day were disappointing (we tried a Piña Colada once and weren't tempted to order another). A major highlight is the excellent direct beach access with sun loungers. The beach itself is fantastic. We were very pleased to see security on the beach who also helped set up umbrellas and arrange sun loungers. There's also a staff member with a first aid kit to treat cuts from corals – a very thoughtful touch (which we actually needed assistance with). Among the obvious drawbacks, the soundproofing in the rooms is extremely poor. We ended up with noisy neighbors who were also smoking ******** on their balcony (though it's legalized in Thailand). As a result, our room smelled terrible, and the noisy parties made it impossible for us to relax. On the bright side, when we reported this to reception, they immediately gave us a key to another room so we could get some much-needed sleep there, which we did. In terms of service, the hotel staff deserves a 5/5. Housekeeping and room comfort would get a 3/5 each, and breakfasts a 4/5. Overall, I'd give it a four out of five."

"Great place to stay if you want peace and away from the busy streets and nightlife! We extended our stay because we felt so relaxed here! Consider renting a bike or car to get around the island as it’s not close to anything by foot. Thank you for your excellent hospitality and service."
