⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The BEST hostel experience I’ve ever had! I honestly cannot recommend Yellow Umbrella Hostels in Cebu City enough. From the moment I arrived until the moment I checked out, every single part of my stay exceeded my expectations. The first thing that stood out was how spotlessly clean everything was. The rooms, bathrooms, common areas, everywhere was exceptionally well maintained. You can really tell that the staff takes great pride in keeping the hostel comfortable, organized, and welcoming. What truly makes this place special, though, is the people. Manager Glen deserves special recognition. He goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome, valued, and at home. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for guests create such a positive atmosphere that you can feel it throughout the entire hostel. And honestly, the rest of the staff were just as incredible. I would write names but truly every staff was amazing because every single person I met was outstanding. They were always smiling, approachable, eager to help, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests’ experiences unforgettable. That level of hospitality is rare and deserves to be celebrated. The atmosphere is warm, safe, and incredibly comforting. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this hostel makes it easy to relax, meet amazing people, and truly enjoy your time in Cebu. The service was consistently exceptional, every request was handled quickly, every interaction was friendly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I’ve stayed in many accommodations while traveling, and Yellow Umbrella Hostels genuinely ranks among the very best. It’s not just a place to sleep, it’s a place that makes you feel at home. If you’re visiting Cebu City, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won’t regret it. Thank you to Glen and the entire team for making my trip so memorable. The Hotel and staff did really well during the Sinulog festival! They organised workshop and provided gifts and souvenirs. It is also very close to one of the main festival areas. The only disappointment was the kaldereta we ordered from the kitchen which was ridiculously small amount (1 piece of meat). However there are many restaurants nearby. Hairdryer needs extra payment of 100 peso per night.

Pretty old hotel.The lobby is clean and tidy overall,but the check in is slow.We arrived 5 mins early and it took 20 mins for the reception to check us in.On the other hand ,the room and the bathroom is not well furnished.Cracks,Stains and watermarks are conspicuous.Wouldn’t recommend anyone who has over 50usd budget to stay in here.I would recommend paying 20 dollars more to get better service ,as well as better room environments .

Staff: Everyone is nice, accommodating and easy to talk to.  Bed: Not sure if it’s only my bed, but near board area, it keeps on creating a creaking sound disturbing other guests.  -Clean and comfy Aircon: A bit hot, not sure if someone keeps changing the aircon temp, get sweaty sometimes.  Recommendation - noticed some guests doesn’t care about people sleeping in the area and just casually talking inside for a long time. 2 young foreign girls, having a love story during my sleep :D, anyway, please remind your guest to be quite at all times and have their chats and snacks outside or in the lobby.

We like the room it is so clean, water is good. The service is okay but at the pool area it says it will close at 9pm so we went there fast so that we can swim for a little bit of time but when we went there it was already close and the attendant was not so nice. The other staff told us it was still open but in our dismay it was not they should at least have the same information so that we will expect that we could swim so that we could really enjoy our stay. We just went to the gym and the attendant also did not inform that he is going to run of the light 😔. But overall it still okay. Thanks to the other staff attended our needs.

The lobby looked great at first glance, but it's an apartment hotel upstairs, and the elevator usually takes a while because people are constantly going in and out. There are many floors, and it's quite high up, making the elevator ride feel a bit scary. The room appeared clean at first glance, but you could tell from the corners that there was dust. A quick wipe of the tissue sofa revealed it was quite dirty. One side of the bed was sunken in from being sat on too much; I'd suggest rotating the mattress or flipping it over to extend its use. The toiletries containers were pretty useless. Although it felt like the location was near a lively area, it was actually quite a distance away. My heart sank when the taxi drove in; the vicinity was quite desolate, so you need to buy everything you need before arriving, as there are absolutely no convenience stores nearby.

Stayed before awhile ago reception staff good fast check in room spacious with Bench table And chairs to eat and drink Bed Big firm good to sleep TV No channels only Netflix and YouTube airconditioning very weak didnt get the room very cold tea and coffee making facilities And also a refrigerator which was good safe Not working. Bathroom small and musty main shower unit leaked And sprayed water All over just ended up using the hand held shower complementary Soap shampoo and tooth brush Not really very hot water the hotel is showing signs of ageing especially in the bathroom the breakfast was good and tasty but took a long time to receive it due to high room service orders staff very friendly and polite okay for a couple of nights room rate was good.

The staff were very kind, helping with luggage and showing me where to refill my water bottle. As for the bathroom, there's no shower curtain, but the water pressure isn't strong enough for water to splash everywhere. It was a bit of a shame to see some small rust spots, though.

I like that the location is close to the event I have attended. The staff are also friendly and approachable. It would have been better though if there were toiletries provided like may tissue. I like that there's available hot and cold water. I will still come back though. I still have plans of getting a room here on my next events.

Our stay in Richmond Plaza Hotel was excellent, i just want to suggest that we wish they would have hair blower, Kettle inside the room thats all. the staff are nice alsooooo kudos!
