AAnonymous UserThe flat white was delicious! The room was cozy, and the hotel's lobby decor was very classy. It's located right on Lanzhou Old Street, so the hotel's location is super easy to find. The breakfast selection was also rich and tasty. The ladies at the front desk were all incredibly warm and friendly! 👍

NNikoas4Some people in the stuff speak english. The name of the hotel is Madison Hotel, not the one that trip says (but the photos on Trip show it). It's a 20min walk from the train station but that's because next to the train station there's nothing. In front of the hotel there's a bus stop for many bus lines. Unfortunately lanzhou (at the time of my review) only has 2 subway lines and it's easier to move by bus even though the traffic in the city is maddening. The hotel is extremly luxurious and there are also washing machines and dryers. This is the birthplace of Jiafei make sure to visit all the places she has been to during your stay.

MMichael PuService: Absolutely fantastic. They provided shuttle service to and from West Station, and when I arrived after my run, they even had a hotel-branded race pack waiting for me.
Ambiance: The environment is also superb.
Free shuttle service from the hotel to Lanzhou West Railway Station: This was incredibly thoughtful. For the marathon, they even had three cars rotating to shuttle guests to and from the subway station. Simply excellent!

GGuest UserThe location is absolutely amazing! It's the ultimate spot for exploring and dining in the city center. Right in the heart of Zhangye Road Pedestrian Street, just a few steps from the Provincial Government subway station. You're right in the commercial hub the moment you step out, and it's a short walk to Zhongshan Bridge. The service is thoughtful and professional, really warming your heart. The front desk staff are enthusiastic and efficient, making check-in super fast. They answer all your questions and even proactively offer tips for Lanzhou's best food and attractions. The robot delivery service is incredibly quick. Upon check-out, they even provide wet wipes and local tea bags – constant little surprises! Breakfast is fantastic, with freshly made Lanzhou beef noodles, tofu pudding, and other local snacks, offering both Chinese and Western options.

GGuest UserTraveling to Lanzhou from Dunhuang, I chose this Atour hotel at Xiguan Shizi.
Location: The main reason I picked this Atour was its great location. It's very close to Metro Line 1, just around the corner, and there are tons of restaurants nearby. It's only a 7-8 minute walk to Muta Lane and Dazhong Lane, and within walking distance to Zhangye Road Pedestrian Street, Zhongshan Bridge, and the Yellow River where you can enjoy some tea. Zhengnin Road Night Market is a bit further, about a 15-20 minute walk. Overall, the location is impeccable.
Environment: The environment is also good. The lobby offers tea and coffee. Daily cleaning was prompt and thorough. The room had a humidifier and an air purifier, and the hairdryer was a Dyson. The mini-bar included Coke and Sprite. All in all, the facilities were quite good.
Breakfast: The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, and the uncle working there was always on his phone, so it took me two days to realize they offered freshly cooked noodles and fermented rice soup. However, getting a full meal was definitely not a problem. There's a laundry room and a gym, but they are a bit small, with only one washing machine and one treadmill.
Downsides: 1. When I booked on Trip.com, it mentioned a free room upgrade, but upon arrival, I was told all three upgradeable rooms were booked, so they switched it to free breakfast instead. 2. The soundproofing in the room wasn't great; I could hear conversations and TV from next door. Luckily, no one was loud late at night during my stay. 3. During peak hours, the water pressure wasn't strong enough and it wasn't hot enough, and the elevator wait time was long. I've stayed at a few Atour hotels, and the soundproofing and hot water issues seem to be common, making me wonder if it's a design standard problem.
