Find 4-Star Hotels in Nice

I was so surprised to find a hotel in France that offers free tissues, disposable slippers, unlimited bottled water, and hot coffee! It's super close to the train station, just around the corner, which is perfect if you're planning to visit Monaco or other nearby places. The hotel breakfast was also delicious; every little pastry was perfectly crispy, and the yogurt was great. The only downside is that it can get noisy at night if your room faces the street, so it's not ideal if you're an early sleeper. Also, be aware that they require a deposit upon check-in, and you can only pay by credit card – no cash or Apple Pay. Finally, Trip.com customer service was excellent 👍

The facilities and services were good, and the rooms were quite large for their European scale. However, the service was extremely poor, bordering on discriminatory. We booked the same room type for three nights, but on the first night, the front desk only issued a room key for one night and required us to come downstairs the next morning to check in again. They said we could only extend our stay in the same room if there were vacancies (we showed them our booking confirmation, but they insisted that we had booked different room types for the three nights and had to check out and change rooms every morning?). We then contacted Ctrip customer service to communicate with the hotel. The hotel claimed that the front desk staff were new and unfamiliar with the procedures, and that this wouldn't normally happen (even if they were unfamiliar with the procedures, their service attitude should have been better). Ctrip's customer service responded very quickly and helped resolve the issue, allowing us to extend our stay for three more nights. However, we strongly advise against staying at this hotel.

The hotel is literally 5 mins walk from the Nice airport Terminal 1, and there's free train outside of the hotel to take me back and forth to the terminal. That's super convenient for getting ready to fly. The room are big and new, the staff are friendly, and the gym is small but have most that I need, plus a sauna that I can use anytime after workout. It's a perfect layover stop.

The biggest pros are its great location and the fact that the hotel provides coffee capsules from Nice every day – they're really good, and you can only buy them in Nice throughout France. As for the lobby, there's hardly one, but they do offer luggage storage for guests. I originally booked because I thought the rooms would be great after the 2025 renovation, but honestly, they're pretty much a domestic three-star standard. If the price of this hotel is on par with the average in Nice, it's worth considering. But if it's too expensive, then it's not good value for money.

This hotel is located near the airport, so you might hear a bit of noise, but the soundproofing in the rooms is pretty decent. Right across the street, there's a bus stop that can get you to Nice Old Town in about half an hour, which is quite convenient. The check-in process at the front desk was incredibly slow; I'm not sure if it was a system issue, but I often saw a long queue of people waiting. The room itself was equipped with new and complete facilities, making for a comfortable stay. There's a rooftop pool and bar with a rather chic vibe, but the hotel rooms offer almost no sea view. If you're looking for a sea view, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

The hotel elevator is very vintage; it was my first time riding such an old-fashioned lift. The hotel is located in an alley, making it not particularly easy to find late at night. Once we finally found it, our family was the only one checking in, yet we waited for about 20 minutes just to get our room cards. I'm not sure why we were left hanging there waiting for a room at 9 PM... Also, the pillows and bed were uncomfortable; the pillows felt all lumpy.

I visited the South of France during the hottest period, but the room's air conditioning could only cool it down by a maximum of 7 degrees Celsius below the outside temperature. On the plus side, the hotel offers complimentary umbrellas and mats to take to the beach, and it's incredibly close to the train station. The brunch spot downstairs serves generous portions and delicious food, definitely worth trying. Upon check-in, I received a perfume wipe as a gift, which was a nice touch and introduced me to a new product.

First off, the location is absolutely unbeatable, making it super convenient to explore Nice's Old Town and surrounding attractions. I made sure to book ahead this time, and the room was spacious and bright, exuding a luxurious French charm. During the day, I loved sitting on the balcony, basking in the sun while gazing at the sparkling Côte d'Azur. In the evenings, a drink accompanied by the sea breeze was pure bliss! The hotel's service also deserves a huge shout-out; the staff were warm, professional, and even thoughtfully arranged a room with a fantastic view during check-in. The in-room amenities were excellent – the bedding was soft and comfortable, the bathroom clean and tidy, and they even had thoughtful touches like an electric clothes drying rack. If you don't feel like venturing far, the hotel's own restaurant and poolside offer a wonderful ambiance. Plus, there are tons of dining options nearby; whether you're craving authentic Niçoise cuisine, exquisite French dishes, or just a simple burger or pizza, you'll find something within a few minutes' walk. Overall, while it wasn't the cheapest, it was definitely worth every penny. If you're looking for a romantic getaway in Nice, choosing this place is a no-brainer – you won't be disappointed!

The hotel's location is truly excellent, just a 10-minute walk from the airport. It's also only a 10-minute walk from Augustin train station, and there's no issue with airplane noise from takeoffs or landings. The front desk offers amenities like iced lemon water. My only complaint is that I arrived around 1:30 PM, and check-in should have been available by 2:00 PM at the latest, but I wasn't able to check in until 3:00 PM, and only after I pressed them. The front desk explained that all rooms were full, but is that really my problem? By that logic, shouldn't I be able to check out an hour late? I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The room has a refrigerator but no microwave, and this Novotel isn't as large as the one in Marseille.
