"Fantastic location, very central to public transport (15min walk to Nice Ville station) and close to the beach/port. Breakfast is simple (cereal, yogurt, toast)and all you can eat, but for 9euro it is good value as surrounds are generally more expensive. There is no soap or shampoo in the showers, bring your own towel and locks as most hostels are. I did like first in first serve for the bedding. Bedding was basic, and comfortable. The social areas were great! Was nice to have access to a gym, fantastic addition to the place."

"The hotel has a rich cultural atmosphere, like a museum, but those who are particular about soundproofing should think twice before booking. Perhaps due to its age, the soundproofing is extremely poor; conversations downstairs at night are clearly audible. I changed rooms initially, but then encountered severe low-frequency noise from machinery overhead, so I changed to another room that was barely acceptable. However, during the day around 10 AM, there was a persistent hammering and knocking sound. Upon investigation, I discovered construction work was taking place in a room just 20 meters away, and the noise was still very noticeable…"
