Some places are meant to be passed through. Others are meant for surrendering oneself to the valley. Hidden in Xinzhai Village, Lujiangba, Baoshan, Yunnan, Huke Coffee Estate Hotel rests at the foot of the Gaoligong Mountains, facing the Nujiang River Valley and gently embraced by 13,600 acres of contiguous coffee plantations. This is not just another countryside retreat beyond the city, but a place where one can truly slow down, quiet the mind, and rediscover the rhythm of breath and time. As the mountain road winds upward, the view gradually unfolds—mountain breeze, the aroma of coffee, drifting mist, and layers of green coming forward all at once. For first-time visitors, there is no need to worry about unfamiliar mountain roads; the estate can arrange pickup from the visitor reception center, making arrival feel more reassuring and allowing this journey to begin with less hesitation and more anticipation. Once here, many realize that this trip is not about getting somewhere quickly, but about moving a little farther from the noise and a little closer to oneself. The beauty of Huke is not loud or dramatic. It is the kind of beauty that naturally quiets the heart. Traditional all-wood Dai-style buildings are scattered across the mountainside, with timber roofs, wooden corridors, terrace views, and morning valley mist reflecting one another. The entire estate carries an understated sense of ease and restraint. Guest rooms are tucked among the trees, each one holding the landscape just outside the window. In the morning, distant mountains and rolling clouds slowly unfold before the eyes; by evening, the light softens and timber interiors blend gently into the valley scenery, making both movement and mood slow down almost without notice. The 270-degree mountain-view rooms, terraces, and soaking tubs are not simply beautiful design elements—they are invitations to pause, to look at the mountains, listen to the wind, do nothing for a while, and gradually empty a mind that has been overfilled for too long. It is, of course, a place that photographs beautifully. But more precious than that is the fact that every photograph taken here feels effortless, because the surroundings themselves are so open, breathable, and naturally composed. Standing on a terrace, sitting by the window, strolling along a wooden corridor, or quietly leaning by the infinity pool, one sees the Nujiang River Valley in the distance and vast coffee fields nearby. The layers are already there. What people tend to love is not the need to take many photos, but the instinct to preserve a moment because the valley, the light, the timber, the mist, and the self all feel exactly as they should. Coffee is another gentle form of healing here. Located in the core production area of Baoshan Small-Bean Coffee, Huke carries more than seventy years of cultivation heritage, giving this land a depth that feels both real and lasting. Staying here means truly enjoying coffee as part of estate life—the estate’s own high-altitude coffee is available complimentary throughout the stay, and a cup may even be taken along on the journey back, carrying that clarity and fragrance a little farther. Guests may also walk into the coffee groves, see bright red coffee cherries hanging from the branches, and step into the professional coffee workshop to slowly experience a hand-brewed cup from rising aroma to lingering finish. In the city, coffee is often for staying awake. Here, it becomes a way to unwind, a way to reconnect with the land, the valley, and oneself. Many people worry that visiting on a rainy day may not be worthwhile. But those who truly understand Huke know that rain can be one of its most moving moments. As rain falls into the coffee fields, mist rises gently along the hillsides. The layered outlines at the foot of the Gaoligong Mountains fade in and out, while the Nujiang River Valley slips softly behind veils of moisture, and the entire estate seems to dissolve into a living ink painting. Listening to rain in a wooden house, with the scent of coffee in the air, one can sit by the window or on the terrace with nothing planned at all—simply watching clouds drift and hearing the rain fall, until the heart quiets on its own. Huke on a sunny day is expansive and luminous; Huke in the rain is softer, calmer, and even more restorative. In many places, rain is merely weather. Here, rain is scenery, and an experience in itself. Beyond staying and looking, this is also a place to return time to nature. Guests may follow light hiking trails through vast coffee fields and the Gaoligong rainforest, observing plants and listening to birdsong as the body gradually releases its tension. One may wait for sunset at the viewing platform, or look up at the stars at night and reclaim a kind of stillness rarely found in the city. For couples, close friends, families, or anyone simply seeking a place to rest, this is more than a brief stop—it is a stretch of valley time in which emotions can be gently set down. The food continues this same rhythm of comfort. Fresh Dai cuisine, coffee-braised chicken, and other signature dishes bring together local flavor and estate life with ease. Breakfast, served with terrace views of the mountains, turns even a simple meal into something soft and unhurried. As for service, the estate does not seek to impress with exaggerated formality, but with attentiveness that feels just right—butler-style care, efficient check-in and check-out, luggage storage, and 24-hour security all make the stay feel both reassuring and effortless. Huke Coffee Estate Hotel has never been simply a place to spend the night. It is better understood as a restorative mountain-valley retreat worth making a special journey for: on sunny days, there are vast coffee fields, sunrise clouds, and sweeping mountain views; on rainy days, there is the sound of rain on wood, mist rolling through the valley, and a rare sense of quiet not easily found elsewhere; and in every kind of weather, it offers the chance to slow down, soften the mind, and return oneself to nature. For anyone seeking a place that is not merely beautiful, but truly calming, healing, and worth the journey, Huke would be an answer difficult to replace.

"The views are great, and the staff are all very enthusiastic. The owner clearly puts a lot of effort into running the place. The food and coffee were very satisfying. However, the soundproofing in the Dai-style rooms is terrible. If someone stays on the second floor, the first floor is completely unusable for rest. The staff could only apologize and say that's just how Dai buildings are. I think the owner should really figure out a way to soundproof the floors. Even though it's a Dai building, for the price they're charging, guests should at least be able to get some rest. My upstairs neighbors checked in around 7 or 8 PM, then went out, came back at 10 PM, and it was noisy until after 11 PM. Then they got up three times in the night to use the restroom, and were up again at 5:30 AM, with constant thumping footsteps. I almost went crazy! Luckily, no one was staying upstairs on the second night."

Before visiting Tengchong, I had high expectations and dreams of the beautiful scenery of Huaxi. When I actually arrived at the courtyard of Huaxi, I was even more amazed. The blue pool in the square courtyard and the green patches amidst the colorful fragrance made the courtyard feel warm and inviting. Our biggest expectation for every trip is the guesthouse, and Huaxi truly made the trip worthwhile. We booked the Jiuxixi Guesthouse, and the room was on the first floor with a courtyard and a hot spring pool. The owner draws hot spring water and fills it up for us to soak in every day. ♨️ The bed in the room was super comfortable, and with one adult and one child, it was perfect for families. The owners of Huaxi, along with the housekeeper and auntie, were incredibly attentive. Every morning they asked if we wanted breakfast, cleaned the room, checked the routes and parking, brought umbrellas in case of rain, and even delivered fruit—they were incredibly considerate! When we went for a walk and it rained, they even offered to pick us up, making us feel right at home. The owners were very talkative and easy to get along with—very nice! The guesthouse's coffee shop is a popular spot; you must try it! My daughter stayed for two days and didn't want to leave at all. Looking forward to seeing Huaxi again! 🌸

I just want to say this hotel is amazing! 👍 The house is decorated in a rustic style, with lots of flowers and plants in the courtyard, and fish kept there. Many details were carefully considered. The rooms are decorated with many vintage items, including some of the owner's personal collections, exuding charm and culture. It's clear the owner is a discerning and cultured person. The rooms have underfloor heating, and each room has a private hot spring bath, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing soak right in your room – convenient and hygienic. Zhu Zhu, who greeted us, provided exceptional service. From the moment we booked, she proactively contacted me, introducing attractions, recommending itineraries, and arranging transportation. The room was thoughtfully furnished with tea, fruit, and eye masks – so warm and welcoming. She even got up early to prepare breakfast for us, showing her kindness and attentiveness. There are so many details worth praising. I really wish I could stay here longer; it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in, both in terms of environment and service. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Tengchong.

Centrally located in Tengchong, this hotel offers convenient access to all attractions. Parking is free, with both above-ground and underground spaces available. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, though I do wish they had a mini-fridge, even a small tabletop one. It would be very helpful for guests with medical needs, such as diabetics who require medication to be refrigerated. If you plan to use the hotel's hot spring, remember to bring your own swimsuit. If you forget, you can purchase one through their 'flash delivery' service, which gets it to you in 20 minutes. The breakfast selection and taste are noticeably superior to many 4-star hotels like Holiday Inn, almost reaching a 5-star standard. Be sure to try the rose handmade rolls from the steamed dim sum section.

Very close to the south gate of the Heshun Scenic Area, high above the town, the room had a west-facing terrace for watching the sunset. Breakfast was also very generous, with rice noodles, rice vermicelli, bean flour, millet porridge, and white rice porridge varying daily. The owner also arranged a shuttle service to the bus station. The room was spacious, with a shower and a large bathtub for soaking in the hot springs. The hot springs can be used after 7 PM daily, but the round tub is a bit slippery, so be careful. The hotel also has a public infinity pool, but we didn't use it. Those with children would probably enjoy it. Highly recommended. Welcome fruit on the first night: bananas and sunflower roses

Facilities: Extremely smart and modern, with excellent and new hardware and software. It has its own parking lot, which is very convenient. It's likely the largest and best-located property in the area. Hygiene: Excellent. The room has a huge balcony perfect for lounging all day, and a large natural spring water pool, allowing you to enjoy a hot spring bath right in your room. It's fantastic! Very satisfied. Environment: The location is superb, much better than many other hotels in the same area. One could say its location is uniquely advantageous. Service: Exceptional service. From check-in to dinner and breakfast, everything was handled perfectly. The staff provided excellent service, and the hotel's dining, accommodation, and service level are all well worth the price. In-room complimentary minibar: The drinks provided are also very characteristic of the local area, along with snacks. Overall, I've stayed in many hotels at similar price points, but this one is truly my top recommendation in Tengchong. It's a resort hotel with stunning views, perfect for spending an entire day, and I would definitely choose to stay here again.

This hotel was a great choice for my Tengchong trip! The service is genuinely excellent; the front desk staff are super friendly and resolve issues very quickly. The rooftop hot spring, open every afternoon, is surrounded by beautifully maintained greenery and flowers, showing a real dedication to detail. These small touches really highlight how wonderful this hotel is. Plus, the rooms are clean, spacious, and offer great value for money. Highly recommend!

The scenery of Chayun Park in front of the hotel is so beautiful! It's blue sky and white clouds in winter. It's so comfortable to sit in the park and bask in the sun! The hotel is very affordable among five-star hotels. You can stay for about 200 yuan. You can't stay in such a good hotel outside! The breakfast is rich! Overall, I am quite satisfied!

While the hotel's facilities and ambiance are undeniably impressive, the pricing and family-friendly amenities leave much to be desired, resulting in poor value for money. Here's an objective review for your reference: **Pros first:** The hotel boasts spacious and grand gardens, a diverse range of public hot spring pools, and staff who are consistently warm and polite. The natural hot spring water is smooth, making for a pleasant soaking experience. The grounds are picturesque for photos, and the decor is undeniably upscale. **However, the pricing and family amenities are major drawbacks, significantly detracting from the overall experience:** 1. **Unreasonable Room Type Price Differences:** A basic room without a private hot spring costs around 800 yuan, but a room with a balcony and private hot spring adds almost 500 yuan, bringing the total for one night to nearly 1300 yuan. This markup is excessive, and the actual utility of the private hot spring doesn't justify such a significant price difference. 2. **Not Family-Friendly:** For a trip that's clearly a family outing with children, breakfast for kids requires separate payment. There's no standard policy for free or half-price children's meals, which is a common offering at similar hot spring hotels. This was very disappointing. 3. **Overall High Cost:** All things considered, the total expense is on the high side. For the same price point in Tengchong, one could find hot spring guesthouses or resorts that include children's breakfast and have much smaller price differences for private hot springs. The premium charged by this hotel simply doesn't align with the amenities and services provided. **In summary:** This hotel is suitable for adult travelers seeking extensive gardens, multiple public hot spring pools, and who are not concerned about their budget. It is **not recommended** for families traveling with children or those looking for good value for money.

The elevator goes directly, swipes the card to enter the door, and at first glance I almost thought I walked into the model room: Living room: L-shaped sofa + 65-inch TV, a welcome fruit plate on the coffee table, all kinds of seasonal fruits have been washed, and you can lie on the sofa and eat fruit in the sun. Bedroom: 1.8 The rice bed is facing the external window. The bed accessories are very carefully arranged and look good, covered with flowers and petals. Balcony private soup: 2㎡ Volcano stone bubble pool, insert the card to put water for 10 minutes, 42℃ pure natural hot spring water, the water depth is just to the chest 🛁. Stepping on the cold stone slab into the pool, ”scream” one second into winter, another second into spring. Sink the body to the neck, the day to go to Gaoligong Mountain to hike the tired sore instantly.
