"Among all the hotels in Zhangjiajie, only this one offers prices that are affordable for a typical family, yet it provides a luxurious experience with exceptional value. We were proactively given two key cards for the elevator. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, even featuring dumplings. Although the room didn't have a mini-fridge, it did offer complimentary iced tea and coke, which we didn't end up drinking. There's both ground and underground parking available with unlimited access. Best of all, it's directly opposite the Tianmen Mountain Cableway station, just across the road. There are also several great restaurants nearby. The bathroom is well-equipped with lotion and laundry detergent, and they even have robot delivery for meals. Aside from not having smart home features, it's virtually perfect. It truly feels like this hotel genuinely wants guests to stay."

"The room facilities are new and fully smart-controlled. You can use voice commands for the curtains, TV, and lights. The toilet is also a smart one. The breakfast is abundant and delicious, available from 6:30 AM. The restaurant is clean, hygienic, and spacious. The staff are very enthusiastic and patient. "We stayed 2 nights. The hosts are very friendly. The location of the hotel is convenient, and the style is traditional. I really like the decoration of the room with traditional charm. It was walking distance from the cable car station to go to Tianmen Mountain 天门山. Many good restaurants are also around by walking distance. What i didn't like was the noise in the morning on the street and the plane as the airport is not far."

"The hotel is clean and in a very strategic location, you can easily find food just by walking outside. Early check-in was allowed, and the staff were all very friendly. You can also buy tickets to Tianmen Gate and Zhangjiajie directly there. We arrived without tickets at 10 a.m., were able to check into our room right away, and by 2 p.m. we were already heading to Tianmen. I booked separate rooms, but they gave us rooms close to each other and we didn’t have to move rooms. Extremely helpful!"

"Stayed 1 night while visiting Tianmen mountain. Lovely, old Tujian style hotel. Very relaxed vibe. Clean room, friendly staff. The hotel is on the 10th floor so we were slightly lost at first trying to locate it. But the people at the front of the building quickly spotted our confused looks and pointed us in the right direction. (Just take the lift to the 10th floor) The only slightly negative thing I could say is that the signage at the building entrance could be better."

"Hotel was perfect we took the largest bed, it was 270 cm wide wow. Reception stuff actually speak some english so thats very rare and its areally helpfull. I didn’t like the breakfast but thats ok, since the food is so cheap. If i ever come again i would book it again."

"This was my first time choosing Wyndham, and I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel's location is excellent; it's a 10-minute walk to the A-line entrance of Tianmen Mountain. It's also convenient for dining and strolling around right outside. The lovely front desk staff even upgraded me to a mountain view room for free. The room had very new tech features, and the shower pressure was fantastic. The breakfast was quite rich. The front desk staff also helped explain the scenic area's tour routes and purchased tickets for me, which even saved me a bit of money! 😁😁"

"Facilities: We specifically chose this 2024-built hotel, and the facilities are very new with no strange smells. Hygiene: Cleaning was very prompt. We usually came down the mountain quite early each day, but by the time we returned, the room was already tidied up. Environment: The surrounding area is very quiet. It's a 10-minute drive to the East Gate and about 20-25 minutes to the South Gate. The hotel has a swimming pool, a children's playground, and a gym, but I guess most guests are here for hiking, so they're not heavily used. Service: The breakfast is considered quite rich for a scenic area. However, because there are many Korean tour groups, it can get really crowded during breakfast, and sometimes there are no seats! ★They offer butler service, and Lucky thoughtfully helped prepare pillows and coordinated an AC issue. Super grateful! Suggestions: It would be great if they could add lunch and dinner dining services. After hiking, sometimes you're really too tired to go out to eat, and the food outside is often too spicy, haha. Also, please make sure to close the door when cleaning the room, otherwise, small insects might get in through the open-air corridor."

Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer. As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently. 2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery. A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions. 3. Generosity & Personal Care I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated. When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving. To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity. 4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience. Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns. For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring. 5. Community Feel The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home. 6. Final Thoughts Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. We were met at the airport and taken to the train station on a free comfortable transfer. 2. There is a free transfer to the National Park there and back. 3. Delicious breakfast: steamed buns, jiaozi, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables - and all this with a stunning view of the mountains! 4. The territory of a hotel is much larger than it looks on the photo, very well-groomed and interesting. I recommend to plan 1 day to just relax at the hotel! 5. The hotel has a small cute pool with a view of the mountains. 6. The hotel staff confidently speaks English and helped us with literally every little thing! They bought tickets, planned every day of our stay, helped with routes and gave their recommendations. They answered in the chat literally instantly on any question! They were worried and wrote to us if we stayed somewhere late. 7. Free tea tasting of local tea in English was very interesting! You can buy local tea and pottery in the store. 8. During our stay, we counted 3 dogs, 7 cats, 3 kittens and 2 puppies that live on the territory of the hotel. All animals are very friendly and gave this place an incredibly warm and homely atmosphere. 9. Laundry is free, we used it several times, everything is great! 10. You can order dinner at any time. All the food is delicious, home-cooked and made with love! 11. The room was wonderful and very spacious with a large bed, great pillows and very soft linens. 12. We left the hotel very early, so the staff brought us breakfast to go. It was very nice! Thank u so much!!! I’ll really miss this place!

LLyndsey99Our stay here was perfect, what an amazing place! The staff are exceptional, and really care about guest experience. They provide transport to and from the east gate of the national park, and will help you plan your day. The service was perfect even down to the small details, like putting mosquito repellent out on the table we liked to play cards at, and providing us with a printed photo of our favourite memory there to take away with us. The room was great, the views were breathtaking. After a long day at the park, we really appreciated having a small swimming pool there for a dip. Food options were good - we enjoyed our dinners and the breakfast buffet. Orders can be placed in advance on WeChat when you are on your way back from a day at the park. There was a decent range of both soft and alcoholic drinks available. What we loved the most is that they have struck the perfect balance between luxury and a kind of homely comfort. We felt so relaxed here. An added bonus for us was their friendly dogs and cat, as we were starting to miss our own dogs at home by this point of our trip. The location was fantastic. It is close to the national park, but the views are so good that if you choose to relax at the hotel you won’t miss anything. If our room wasn’t booked for the following days, we would have extended our stay. One of our favourite places we have ever stayed, not just in China. AAnonymous UserWhen checking in, I requested a room with a mountain view. The front desk staff were very helpful and gave me a room I was really happy with. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is located in the commercial center, with supermarkets and many restaurants nearby, making shopping and dining very convenient. They also offer free laundry service. It's about a 10-yuan taxi ride to the Tianmen Mountain cable car. The rice noodles and the glutinous rice wine with egg and fermented rice for breakfast were delicious. The front desk also promptly answered all my questions via WeChat.

Unfortunately the hotel is very far away from everything else and you don’t have any restaurants nearby except for the hotel restaurant. When we booked this hotel we got an offer to get: 1 craftsman beer 100 yuan in didi tickets 2 tickets to an exhibition. Even these we never received, the 100 yuan in didi (taxi) tickets we got when we asked for them and showed them the booking information and even though they saw the booking information in Chinese the didn’t get us the offer that we had paid for. When we arrived at the hotel which is very grand and look very nice upon arrival they greeted us at the car which is expected for a hotel that grand but that was only the first day they did that. All other times when we got to the hotel no one greeted us, they were all busy talking to each other instead. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 kids and even though we booked a family room where they know 4 people was staying they gave us only amenities such as towels etc for 2 people so every day we needed to wait and ask for 2 more towels before we took a shower. We also booked excursions through the hotel to visit Grand Canyon and also Tiamen mountain and paid over 1600 yuan for the whole family with everything included. When we came to Grand Canyon we couldn’t experience what we were there for (the zipline) because it had weight restrictions and when we contacted the sales person from the hotel she didn’t take any responsibility and just blamed everything else instead of saying that she was sorry. The day after we visited Tiamen mountain and here we had also booked a ticket that should have included everything and when we came there it was hidden fees that the sales person from the hotel hadn’t told us. When we contacted her again it was the same response that she blamed everything else instead of taking responsibility for that she hadn’t told us everything that she needed to tell us. No compensation was given by the hotel and no excuse. When we checked ut the staff said that they would be happy if we could give them a 5 star review and my response was that I will give you a review but it’s not going to be 5 star. When they asked us explain why we did and they blamed it on the language barrier which I don’t buy since all the messages and sales were done through translation app and also through WeChat were you can translate into your own language. It would have been so easy for the hotel to say I’m sorry and for example as a compensation from us you can go down to the buffé restaurant to eat dinner but instead they blamed everything else! We are world travelers and have been to different cities both in China and also in different country’s around the world and this is one of the hotel were we feel that they had the worst service we have experienced. When we’re coming back we will not stay here again! A fancy hotel that can not live up to the expectations.

XXYHJNThe room was spotless. The location is excellent, just a short taxi ride from the scenic area entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A charming little stream runs right by the entrance, offering beautiful scenery, and you can even go down for a paddle. The owner was incredibly kind and went out of their way to thoroughly explain tips for exploring the scenic area. There's also a third-floor terrace, perfect for drying clothes, which offers fantastic views. This is a truly honest review – we had an absolutely wonderful time!

She also gave me a ride to the bus station on her electric scooter and let me do laundry. Her service was above and beyond! The location is great and very cute, the room was clean and very cozy! I definitely recommend staying here!

MM845801****Staying at Yujie was an absolute delight! The high-end amenities were a huge plus, especially the smart speaker 'Xiaodu' which was super responsive. The toilet felt luxurious, and the room itself was spacious and bright with clean, comfortable bedding. We loved taking strolls in the sky garden, hitting the gym, and even found the laundry room convenient for those lazy days. Breakfast offered a great variety and was delicious. Plus, its proximity to the Wulingyuan National Forest Park's iconic entrance gate made exploring the scenic area a breeze.

The host is exceptionally helpful, and helped us book discounted tickets to the National Park as well as guiding us through what routes to take based on the amount of time we had available. He is an extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful man, and we are very grateful for the fantastic service he offered. If I could give more than 10/10, I would. Even gave us a free room upgrade upon arrival. The hotel itself is only a 15-20 minute walk from the East Gate of the park too, and is well positioned within Wulingyuan, being less than a 10 minute walk from the bus station and located on the Main Street, close to all the food options (we recommend Bailu Road for cheap, good local food). The hotel was clean, and free bottled water is offered. Comfortable beds, nice shower and facilities. Overall, a brilliant stay - highly recommended.

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.
