Although the hotel opened in 2014, the rooms' facilities and cleanliness are still very well-maintained. The shower has great water pressure, making for a very comfortable bathing experience. The pillows in the room were a bit uncomfortable for me – too high and too springy. The bed was large and the mattress was very comfortable. My room didn't come with bathrobes. It was quiet at night, and the air conditioning in the room was strong. Directly opposite the hotel is a large shopping mall, and a big supermarket is not far away. It's also within walking distance to various attractions. The infinity pool is excellent, with a good long lane for swimming. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10 AM, and the food selection is substantial and fitting for a 4-star hotel, offering everything you'd expect.
This is my second time staying here. As always every thing is perfect. They allowed us to have an early check in since the room was ready early. From check in to check out time everything was smooth. Luckily we were able to see again our favourite staff Ady but this time we saw many new faces. Thank you Ady for wonderful service again. Not forgetting Joshua as the Front Office Ambassador and the Duty Manager i forgot his name though. The housekeeping also maintained their good service to ensure our room condition was perfect. Kudos to Harun for the great work! And also thank you for the maintenance staff Rahim for assisting me to get better wifi connection. Please maintain what you all doing!
Good stay at Jazz Hotel Penang 👍
Really satisfied with my trip here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub and even a complimentary bath bomb which made the stay extra relaxing. Love the rooftop pool and the overall modern vibe.
Location is convenient — walking distance to Straits Quay and easy access to Gurney area for food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely come back again!
I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area .
The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this .
Now , I wait for my toe to heal .
This hotel is, without a doubt, the best in Penang for service and cleanliness. It's quite luxurious for the city, but the price is surprisingly reasonable. The front desk staff, in particular, were outstanding. There were two people, RASHVEEN and FAKHRUL, and I believe a manager too, who gave us a sea-view room and agreed to a late checkout until 2 PM. They even provided us with drinks when we went to Penang Hill. The service was superb from start to finish. The hotel breakfast also offered a great variety of options. If I ever visit Penang again, I'll definitely be staying here.
The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning worked efficiently and cooled the room quickly, which was especially appreciated in Penang’s warm weather. The towels were also of good quality with strong absorption.
Parking was slightly unusual in layout, but still manageable. Even during the festive season, there were plenty of parking lots available, which was a big plus.
The location is convenient. Northam Beach Cafe is within a 10-minute walking distance, and there is a traffic light for pedestrians to safely cross the road.
There is also a Starbucks just 5 minutes behind the hotel, making it easy to grab coffee.
However, the major downside was the poor soundproofing. I could clearly hear the next door guests talking loudly, laughing, and even closing their doors. Unfortunately, this affected my sleep quality and was quite disappointing.
Overall, it was a good stay with very friendly and helpful concierge service. If the soundproofing can be improved, the experience would be much better.
The hotel staff were all very polite, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. They even noted my request and gave me a quiet room with no noise. The breakfast was decent, and the coffee was strong and really woke me up.
There's a mall right to the left when you exit, and a supermarket downstairs. Across the street, there's a 7-Eleven, and GAMA also has a supermarket downstairs. It's a moderate distance to tourist attractions, about a 20-minute walk, and about a 30-minute drive to the airport if there's no traffic. Little India is nearby, so there are quite a few Indian people around. I'm not used to it since I don't know much about the culture, but we mostly kept to ourselves. However, after each room cleaning, we'd find a few long hairs that weren't ours, which I hope they can improve upon.
We were treated to warm, delicious cookies upon arrival and were allowed to check in at 11am, which was a pleasant surprise to us. Everything is within walking distance and located right next to the night market, you'd be in for a treat for local delights, such as the famoua char kway teow and lor bak stalls.
The room is clean with a good view of the city. The gym is small, but is well-maintained and equipped with a variety of equipment. Quite a lovely hotel.
I was assigned a Level 25 Deluxe Triple Room during my stay. The room was very nice, clean, spacious, and comfortable. One of the highlights was the beautiful Penang view from the room, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The room was well-equipped with essential amenities such as a hair dryer and water heater. The kitchen was also fully furnished with an induction cooker, pan, kettle, plates, cups, and pots, which was very convenient for longer stays.
The only downside was the parking arrangement. Every time I wanted to drive out, I had to inform the front desk via WhatsApp to release the parking barrier. This process was slightly inconvenient, especially if you are in a hurry.
Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay with great facilities and an excellent view.
This hotel is considered an older, established 4-star property in the old town, and some of the facilities are a bit dated; I hope they can be updated. The hotel breakfast is excellent, with a good variety and local specialties, though I wish they'd improve the drink quality. My room was old, the AC was leaking, and the ceiling was visibly peeling. Lin at the front desk, who speaks Chinese, provided exceptional service, while others were just average. We arrived on New Year's Eve without a reservation for the buffet dinner, but Lin communicated with the restaurant and managed to get us an extra table so we could enjoy our New Year's Eve meal. However, the 188 MYR price didn't match the quality; if this were in China, it probably wouldn't last a month. The salmon was cut into small strips, and the plate was empty quickly—looks like it's the same everywhere, haha. Ninety percent of the diners were local Chinese. The hotel is located in the old town, about a 15-minute walk to the mural street, and not far from Little India and the Peranakan Museum. There's a hawker center downstairs, but it was closed for the New Year. Overall, the hotel is good, and the location is quiet yet central.

Ssj91this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

SSylvia Wan 2908I booked a king-size bed for me and my daughter. The room was very big (huge huge size) and had two large air conditioners. There was also a big sofa, a table, and chairs in the room, which made it very comfortable.
The bathroom was very clean, and I really liked the shower because it had different water settings you could change.
Every day they give two welcome drinks, and you can choose alcohol, tea, coffee, or juice.
The hotel also has a kids’ play area, a gym, and a yoga room. They provide filtered water, so you can refill your bottle anytime.
We ordered the smoked duck pasta and nasi lemak. The nasi lemak was really delicious.
This hotel is so closed to the airport.
I really loved this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

BBabylindPlace is super clean. Location is just next to city centre (5 minutes drive). Sofa bed is comfy and we selected the unit with Cinema theme (projector). We all enjoyed our relaxing movie time at late evening. Check in procedures is clear and easy too.
Overall, we are satisfied with the place.
GGuest UserThe rooms are new and well-equipped, with a pool and gym. The breakfast is more Western-style, with not a huge selection, but it's enough. The dining environment is excellent with beautiful sea views! On the downside, none of the front desk or service staff speak Chinese, and communication can be an issue if your English isn't great. For example, when we asked for more water, their 'Indian English' was completely incomprehensible! It's also about 8km from George Town, so transportation isn't very convenient. You'll also need a taxi to get to the best sunset beach.
GGuest UserThe gardens and beach were beautiful, and I spent most of my time swimming and lounging outdoors, which was very comfortable and pleasant. I even saw some large monitor lizards. The gardens at the Rasa Sayang were even prettier.
The room itself was very old, as it's a hotel from 1995. There were large cockroaches in the bathroom. I hope they can renovate and improve it.
During my Easter stay, it wasn't too crowded, and I didn't experience the noise from the mosque or children that some online reviews mentioned. However, I was assigned a room on the second floor, and the activity room on the first floor had singing and performances all day, which was quite noisy. I recommend requesting a higher floor.
The restaurants at both Golden Sands and Rasa Sayang were very bad; I don't recommend trying them.
It's an hour's drive from George Town and Penang Hill, but closer to the Spice Garden (which is quite small) and the National Park. It's suitable for a two-day stay to relax at the hotel before moving on to George Town.
