This hotel is incredibly convenient, with a convenience store on-site and plenty of local eateries and supermarkets nearby. The room was spacious and very clean, with an open view outside. Since it's a serviced apartment, it came equipped with a fridge, microwave, and cutlery, which was perfect for making a simple late-night snack with groceries bought from the supermarket. However, there were a couple of downsides: the water pressure was quite weak, and there was a strange drain smell coming from the bathroom, which definitely needs improvement. The gym and infinity pool are located on the 36th floor. The pool was super clean and the views were absolutely stunning! 👍

Hidden in George Town, Penang, is a century-old heritage hotel, which was the most pleasant surprise of my trip. The hotel is divided into the Heritage Wing and the Victory Annexe, both largely preserving their original historical charm. From the antique elevator to the brass key wall, every detail tells a story. Teak staircases are carved with Malaysian motifs, and the rooms feature hardwood furniture alongside Fujian blue and white tiles, creating a stylish blend of East and West. The infinity pool offers direct views of the strait, and at sunset, the orange glow reflects on the water, allowing you to fully soak in Penang's unique seaside Nanyang charm. The century-old corridors are steeped in history, having hosted notable figures like Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, and Sun Yat-sen.

Everything about this hotel was great. We booked a sea view room and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. Just cross the road downstairs and you're at the beach. There are also many snack bars downstairs. The staff were very warm and responsible, always diligently resolving any issues we had. When we checked out, we accidentally left something behind in the hotel and didn't realize it. The hotel even sent an email to inquire about it and safely kept our belongings. It was a fantastic experience overall!

The location is fantastic, right by two large shopping malls, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient—just a three to four-minute walk away. While you'll need a taxi to get to the old town attractions, it means the area is much quieter. There's a Hua Yang restaurant right under the nearby Gurney Plaza, and the wait times are much shorter than in Kuala Lumpur, so I finally got to eat there! The facilities are a bit lacking and can't compare to five-star hotels in China. However, the service is excellent, and they even offer a shuttle bus. Breakfast was a bit disappointing; they start clearing up right on time, and the variety isn't huge. Overall, the service was very good and proactive.

The sea view from the bedroom and bathroom was absolutely stunning and really captivated me. I also loved the apartment layout. The living room was spacious, and having a large fridge, washing machine, and kitchen was very convenient, even though we didn't use them. The hotel breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but the food was good, and the service was excellent. Right next door there's a mall with a 24-hour convenience store and two spa places. The night market and food stalls are within walking distance, and Gurney Plaza isn't too far either; we walked there both evenings for some shopping.

My stay here was excellent! The hotel's location is superb, with convenient transportation, being very close to the subway station and shopping center. The check-in process was quick, and the front desk staff were enthusiastic, professional, and friendly. The room was clean and hygienic, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, ensuring a high-quality sleep. The room facilities were complete, the internet speed was fast, and the shower water temperature was just right with strong pressure. There are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby, and it offers great value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time. Highly recommend everyone to stay here!

Everything was fine except the parking charges, which were completely mishandled. I was clearly told it would be RM9 per day with multiple entries and exits allowed. Yet on the second day, I was charged RM18 on my first exit. Naturally, I assumed it might include an advance charge for the third day.. but then on the third day, I was charged another RM9 anyway. That makes absolutely no sense. I raised this at reception during check-out, and I was told to text a provided number. I’ve sent multiple messages and no response whatsoever. Completely ignored. Yes, it’s “just” RM9 extra. But that’s not the point. If this is how casually you handle even small discrepancies, what does that say about your overall standards? And how many other guests are being overcharged without even realizing it? Frankly, this is unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

The Miren is another Marriott design hotel. It's a few hundred more expensive than the Marriott I stayed at before, but personally, I don't think the travel comfort was as good as the previous Marriott. The design is beautiful, but the sea view from the window felt a bit restricted, not wide enough. Although, you can watch the sunrise from the sea view room. Breakfast was an à la carte buffet, and the taste was just okay, nothing special, not as delicious as advertised. The pool is very beautiful, and the service was excellent. There's a lively night market downstairs where you can eat. They also offer turn-down service. However, the handheld showerhead had very low water pressure, in addition to the rain shower. There was an incident during check-in where there was a bloodstain on the duvet. We called to have the duvet cover changed, and they explained that the person making the bed had cut their finger. While we didn't want to make a fuss, the hotel only offered a fruit platter that wasn't very tasty. For a high-end hotel, this level of customer service awareness is disappointing. I probably won't choose this one again.

This was our过渡 hotel for the first night in Penang, and they offer 24-hour check-in. We arrived past midnight, but the Malay guy at the front desk was still very attentive. The room wasn't big but felt new with a modern design. Our room type faced the back street, so it was quiet, but it looked directly onto the building opposite, offering no view at all. If a view is important to you, I recommend booking a different room type. The hotel is very close to Toh Soon Cafe and the Peranakan Museum, both within a five-minute walk. The surrounding area is pretty quiet with not many shops.

It’s very relaxing. Love the room and the views from the balcony. The in house Italian restaurant offers set lunch and dinner which was a good alternative to the buffet spread at the main dining hall. Breakfast spreads has a good variety of Asian local delights, but a lack in fruits and vegetables options. There is a little play zone with arcade game and a pool table, but some buttons on the machine malfunction and missing balls from the pool set.

GGuest UserTHE MOST AMAZING HOTE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN 10/10 1. Hotel Locaiton: Perfect as its not in the city and by the beach, amazing for relaxation. Hotel is surrounded by souvenir shops and street food. 10miute walk from Ferringhi Walk where there is a nice selection of street food but my favourite of all is that its just a 2 minute walk from my favorite restaurant in Malaysia, Ferringhi Garden. Penang trip isnt complete without going to Ferringhi Garden. Its an amazing restaurant with the most beautiful collection of plants, there is no other place like it in Malaysia. 2. The Hotel: Nothing bad to say about it. The design, the decor, everything about this hotel makes me want to stay there even longer. Its such a nice feeling being there. Facilities are clean and complete. 3. The Room: CLEAN. NICE. SPACIOUS. BEAUTIFUL. Every inch of the room is to my liking, i could not have asked for more. Mattress is thick and oh so comfortable. Aircond was cold. Room was very spacious. 4.The Buffet: The room came with breakfast for 2 and it was the perfect buffet to start each day with. Selection was incredible even better than a lot of buffet Ramadan Ive been to. They had everything from selections of breads, to nasi lemak with 12 different sambals, 5 different meat dishes to eat it with, assorted fruits, assorted cheeses, 2 types of porridge with the FULL suites of condiments, salads, pastries, roti canai with all the curries you will ever need, to your above average selection of continental breakfast menus like, beef bacon, beef and chicken sausages, hash browns, deli meats, smoked fish. And there is more! there is a made-to-order menu which many patrons are not aware of. I tried the minute steak and it was good!(pictured below) PS: Hakimi from breakfast service was spectacular, I requested strawberries for my picky 2 year old and he delivered. On the other hand, ANIS FROM THE OMELETTE STATION WAS RUDE TO MY WIFE, SHE NEEDS TO IMPROVE HER SOCIAL SKILLS(this is my one and only complain) Overall my stay was 10/10 and this will be the ONLY hotel i will be staying at if when im at Batu Ferringhi. I plan to go to Park Royal Batu Ferringhi Annually, its just that good!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.

GGuest UserThis five-star hotel, priced at a little over 400 [currency unit, e.g., MYR], offers incredible value for money, not just in Malaysia but anywhere. The breakfast is great, and kids eat free. On our departure day, after a quick chat, we were able to check out at 2 PM. They provide unlimited bottled water for the room, which saved us quite a bit. The water park next door is perfect for kids around ten years old, though it gets too sunny in the afternoon to really enjoy for long. The only downside is that the hotel feels like an island; you can't walk to grab a meal or visit a convenience store. The road outside has no sidewalks, so you're constantly relying on taxis. Taxis, taxis, taxis! That was a real pain. On a final note, the hotel pool is fantastic – hardly anyone there and super clean.

LLixiaotuThe hotel's location is pretty good, with plenty of popular 'influencer' spots nearby. The front desk service was also great, especially a slim guy who was incredibly warm and helpful. Everyone at the front desk was Chinese. My biggest regret, though, is that the hotel actually has a thief, and they operate like a professional! $200 was missing from the $1700 I had stored in the safe. I wouldn't have even noticed, but when I went to open the safe, my self-set password suddenly came up as incorrect, and I couldn't open it at all. I had to call hotel staff to open it for me. Afterward, I suspected money might be missing and specifically counted it – sure enough, two bills were gone! My password was 6 digits, but the safe's password suddenly became 3 digits. The initialization password is 3 digits, so it was clearly initialized and opened! Later, when I reported the situation to the front desk, I saw that the person in charge of this safe system was Indian, and the housekeeping staff were also Indian. At that point, I knew something shady was definitely going on. ☠️☠️☠️

HHeihemaThe hotel is right by the sea, with the beach just beyond the lawn and outdoor pool. The staff provided excellent service, and check-in was very quick. I loved the lawn and big trees outside my window, especially when they were lit up at night – it looked beautiful. You can watch the sunset directly from your room or balcony, though many people go down to the beach to see it up close by the water. A short walk from there is the beach fire show. Turn right outside the hotel's main entrance, and you'll find a bustling night market in the evenings, with lots of traffic and activity. During the day, it's much quieter. It feels like a small town here, with many houses and even an amusement park, plus a surprisingly large Starbucks. As a Marriott resort, the hotel's facilities and services are top-notch. I especially have to mention the live cooking station at breakfast; both the freshly cooked noodles and vermicelli were delicious, but you absolutely cannot miss the soup – it was amazing! 👍

LLee Ah JiaGreat hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. Wishing the entire team continued success and all the very best. Thank you once again for going above and beyond. Peharps this able to fully credit to the team.
