Arrived at the hotel at 11 AM and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, helping us check in early and even upgrading us to a business room. The room wasn't huge, but the layout was very efficient, with distinct areas for the bathroom, sleeping, and a small living space. Everything was spotless and comfortable. The hotel's location is super convenient for transport. It's right next to the Sands Hotel, and just a short walk to catch a bus from Sands directly to The Venetian, The Londoner, and The Parisian. Lotus Square is right next to the hotel, and behind it is Macau Polytechnic University. If you want to visit the Ruins of St. Paul's, it's about a twenty-minute walk. Fisherman's Wharf is directly opposite the hotel, and there's a bus stop right on the side of the hotel, making getting around incredibly easy. For this price, given the location and the hotel's quality, I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Macau.
We stayed 1 night and it was an absolute surprise — a true hidden gem that far exceeded expectations for a 2-star property.
The room was elegant and well designed, with a beautiful view of the Grand Lisboa. It felt like a nostalgic and classic Macau experience, almost like stepping back into a more refined era.
Cleanliness was excellent throughout, and the amenities were far above what you would expect at this category. A particular highlight was the coffee setup in the room, including a grinder that allowed us to make a genuinely excellent fresh coffee in the morning.
The staff were outstanding — attentive, professional, and genuinely exceptional in every interaction. Breakfast was also excellent and completed the experience perfectly.
Overall, an outstanding stay and incredible value. A beautiful, classic and elegant experience that truly felt like a revival of old Macau.
The room was fine, and the bedding was very comfortable, so I had a great rest. Due to a flight change, my flight was rescheduled to depart in the evening. I tried asking if a late checkout was possible if the room was available, and the manager readily agreed. I ended up checking out at 1:30 PM. I want to thank the staff again for their understanding; it was truly very accommodating.
Also, the free luggage storage after checkout was super convenient. I'll definitely consider staying here again if I come back to Macau.
Appreciate the cleanliness and newness of the hotel. Especially the TV has youtube and can share screen so satisfying.
The HSKP attendants and room service server are very kind.
Though the front desk they need to be more effective with their service cause they didn't introduce the wifi and inform about the pool renovation.
The room was spacious with a large, comfortable bed. Overall, my experience was excellent. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The staff were warm and courteous, and the location was convenient. It offers great value for money, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.
Fantastic experience! The L'Occitane toiletries were a lovely touch and great value for money. The room service staff were also very friendly, and the front desk actively helped with luggage. The only minor downside was that the hotel facilities were a bit old, especially the hairdryer which was very, very dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There was also a lot of limescale in the corners around the bathroom.
In late May, I took a ferry from Hong Kong's Sheung Wan pier to Macau's Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, then walked 20 minutes to the Rio Hotel. The hotel strictly enforces its 3 PM check-in policy, and there were many guests waiting to check in at that time, so we all had to queue up. The standard room was very spacious (much more so than Hong Kong hotels). I booked the hotel through Trip.com for an average of CNY 450 per night, which included breakfast for two (the breakfast was decent and suited to average tastes). The hotel is very close to Macau's famous landmark, the Ruins of St. Paul's, and is within walking distance. After checking out this morning, I stored my luggage and spent most of the day exploring Taipa. To get back to mainland China via the Gongbei Port, you can hitch a ride on the shuttle bus from the neighboring hotel.
I visited Taiwan in 2019, and now that I've explored Hong Kong and Macau, I've checked off all the boxes for my travels!
Traveling with a friend after the May Day holiday, I booked two rooms – one with twin beds and one with a king bed. There was a connecting door between them. I called the front desk and asked them to open it, instantly turning them into a convenient suite for interacting, yet we could close the door for privacy when resting.
The hotel is surprisingly quiet despite being in a bustling area. The rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable. I booked without breakfast, opting instead to explore the streets and alleys for a unique Portuguese-style breakfast, which was a wonderful experience.
Upon returning to Gongbei Port, I booked a shuttle at the lobby for a specific time. The 8-seater car was very comfortable, much better than taking a random taxi to the port. The driver's service was excellent, a definite commendation!
The hygiene is good, and the sea-view breakfast environment is pleasant. It's convenient to get there by taking the Galaxy Shuttle and crossing the skybridge after getting off. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to The Venetian, but it only runs a few times a day. The facilities are a bit old, especially the hairdryer. A deposit of 500 MOP is required, payable only by Alipay or cash, WeChat is not accepted. The service is decent; I didn't have a power adapter for charging, and they sent one up immediately.
This stay was fantastic! The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get around. The room was clean, tidy, and had great natural light and ventilation. The bedding was soft and comfortable – I could truly relax the moment I lay down. All the facilities were complete and in good working order, very easy to use. The staff were warm and friendly, providing thoughtful and meticulous service; any requests were promptly attended to. Overall, it's great value for money, and the stay was very pleasant and comfortable. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next trip and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

GGuest UserThe hotel doesn't offer a shuttle service. From Macau Airport, you can first take the Venetian Hotel's shuttle. Get off at the Venetian, then walk across the street (about 1 minute) to transfer to the Sands Macao shuttle. After getting off at Sands Macao Hotel, it's a 2-minute walk to Harbourview Hotel. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area with good water pressure. However, there was a musty smell when I first entered the room, but it dissipated once the air conditioning was turned on. The sea view was mediocre. The staff were friendly. Guests can purchase breakfast/lunch/dinner at a discounted price, which is slightly cheaper than booking through online platforms.

JJiabao1123Took my dad to Macau, and I really appreciate the hotel manager for their thoughtful arrangements. They knew my father doesn't like too much sun, so they assigned us a room with a great view that wasn't exposed to direct sunlight for too long. All the staff in the hotel lobby were so nice. The hotel's location is excellent; it's convenient to go anywhere and great for shopping! I'll definitely choose Grand Emperor again.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the quiet Cheoc Van, away from the bustling Cotai and Coloane, but accessible by bus route 26A, which runs every ten minutes or so. It takes only about an hour to get to the hotel from the Macau Peninsula city center, which wasn't too far for me. If you're arriving by bus without much luggage, the public bus stop near the hotel is named C677-1 Cheoc Van Barbecue Park 1 (according to the bus company). After getting off, cross the street, and there will be a black iron gate leading to the hotel. The hotel's swimming pool area and front desk are located in front of the pool. Otherwise, following Gaode Maps will require a longer walk. However, that stone staircase is a bit narrow, so it's inconvenient with large luggage; in that case, you'll have to follow Gaode. The hotel room's balcony overlooks the beach, and the room itself is clean and has a Portuguese flair. Although breakfast is simple, it tastes good. If you don't want to dine at the hotel, you can take a bus to Coloane for a meal, which is only about a ten-minute ride. This place is suitable for tourists who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Macau and enjoy some peace and quiet.
GGuest UserTransportation: I chose this hotel for a concert, and it was super convenient to get to the Galaxy Arena. It's just two stops on the light rail, and the hotel is very close to the station, about a 6-7 minute walk. Plus, there are many supermarkets and restaurants right downstairs, which was incredibly convenient.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness was excellent. There were no stains or dust on the tables or sinks, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job, even folding my pajamas.
Service: Before I arrived, I saw many reviews complaining about poor staff attitudes, but my actual experience was very positive. All the staff I encountered were friendly and greeted me warmly. Any issues I had were quickly resolved by calling room service, which was just a quick press of '6' on the phone.
Environment: The environment was good, but the soundproofing was really bad. I could clearly hear people walking in the hallway and even conversations from the next room.
Facilities: The facilities weren't new, but they were well-maintained. The air conditioning couldn't be adjusted, and the hotel kept it too cold, so I turned it off. Even with it off, it was still cold, which might be due to the room's orientation. I stayed in Macau for four days in May and didn't need to use the AC once, haha. The temperature without it was just right, even a bit cool.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay!
