Another unpleasant experience during recent stay. Kinda upset that the hotel didn’t even bother to read my special request that I have indicated in my booking a week before the check in. Regularly staying here for my business trip, and this is not the first time they disappointed me.
Reached hotel at 5pm after long business meeting, and been told my room is facing the pool side and at lower floor. I have clearly indicated higher floor and river view which I have been staying in the same floor / same room during each of my stay. But they’re totally not aware I have indicated such request for my booking and ended up I waited for almost 40min++ for them to get another river view room ready for me. Before they do so, they actually asked me to wait until 8pm if I want a river view room which I’m totally speechless. I’ve booked for premier room not standard room, and kinda shocked when I heard that remarks from the receptionist
Location is definitely very strategic.
I hope the next trip I won’t get disappointed again.

The hotel deserves a good review. The cleanliness was not bad, but what really stood out was the staff service. Especially the two receptionists one girl wearing glasses and one white guy their service was top-notch. They were very helpful and professional. They truly deserve a raise or bonus. This my second time staying and i choose deluxe bali concept very worth the space is bigger with balcony love it . Would come again .

The hotel is in a good location, near Jonker street. The hotel despite getting old, still has its charm. The hotel is building an extension, to be ready by the end of this year. Apparently the existing rooms will be refreshed too, especially the bathrooms.

Great service and comfortable rooms, but with a few hiccups. The staff at reception were lovely. However, staying on the 32nd floor meant long waits for the lift during busy times. Also, the bathroom glass is quite see-through—not ideal if you're sharing the room with a friend. Overall, it was a good experience, but keep these points in mind.
The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of Malacca's old town. When I checked in, the Malaysian lady at the front desk collected a 50 RM cash deposit from me (which another front desk staff member refunded when I checked out the next day). Additionally, she charged an extra 28 RM for some unknown fee (Ctrip showed an 8 RM world heritage fee was due). I stayed for two nights, and Ctrip deducted 475.47 RMB upon checkout.
Room 512 faces west, offering an open view of St. Paul's Hill. The room didn't have a safe or slippers, but it did have a refrigerator, toothbrush, hairdryer, wardrobe, and hangers. The air conditioning was central and could be set to a very low temperature.
Upon entering, I accidentally pressed the 'make up room' button next to the door. Later, after I had gone to bed, a staff member rang the doorbell to clean. They were very responsible; I had to get dressed and explain in person that I didn't need the service before they left.

Nice hotel to stay at. The swimming pool has salt water, which is something different from other hotels. Check-in and check-out were easy. There were quite a variety of breakfast options, and we enjoyed the food. The room was cold, and the bathtub was big. Overall, we are happy guests.
Love this hotel coz is superb convenient,we took coach frm Sengkang to the hotel. The room itself is big nice n clean. Just the service not so happy whem we call.for room servive they answer vry fast but our needs was not fufilled call till 5 was transfer n no one anwer for room service we wamted order some fpod for the kids. Timing was 8.30pm. The nxt day try again was transfer the call n one answer, so total try twice only no amswer we give up.
There is variety of places to eat nearby by to malls and tourist atrraction.
1st day check-in experience:-
Very bad.
The check-in was smooth.
Once we step out of the lift on 22nd level. The whole corridor is humid and stuffy. No aircon at all.
After that, we tap in to our room. The whole room was humid and stuffy. Need to use those remote control to turn on the aircon (their aircon is those small ones installed for home type - one for e living area and one for the bedroom). After 20-30 mins, thought the room will slowly cool down.... no...
We all started to sweat in the room as the aircon is unable to cool the entire room at all.
There were 2 single beds in e living area and a queen size bed in the bedroom (Website states King size and 2 single beds).
We went to the reception to complain. Cos the small aircon is too weak for the big area. Even the small room can't cool down. Ask to change to a connecting room. They offered to change to a
deluxe room (2 super single) + Suite (1 king size + living area). That is the only option. We accepted and top up RM700. Reception claim they will ask the technician to check on the aircon at the corridor...
End up no actions done again....
We realized when the lift door opens on certain floors when guests comes in, the corridors are all humid and stuffy!
We were given the rooms on level 15, yap.... all corridors are stuffy without aircon. Even the reception area is cooler.
The only plus point is e attitude of the staff here.
The connecting room was way better with stronger aircon. Had a good rest for e 2 nights.
Very mixed feeling for this hotel as the location is good with eateries and massage places around. Pool looks good.
Very dated looking hotel with basic amenities. Slow response from housekeeping was slow, we requested for an additional pillow that never comes.
Will not be going back again.
We arrived really late, around 1 AM, so there was only one staff member at the front desk for check-in. We asked if we could switch rooms if ours wasn't suitable, but he said they were fully booked and had no other options. The next day, we saw that the entire building had tons and tons of empty rooms 😂. Our family room was very spacious, but the furniture and facilities felt incredibly outdated, like something from 20 years ago. The windows even had several black mold spots 😂, and the towels weren't very clean and were haphazardly placed in the bathroom, which also lacked a separate shower and toilet. There were ants on the table in the room, and black and red marks on the walls. Around 11 PM, after we had already gone to bed, someone prank-called our doorbell, which gave us quite a fright. There were documents on the table and bed stating how hard the hotel worked to achieve its 4/5-star rating. However, if you wanted an extra blanket or additional tea, you had to pay separately for each, with prices clearly listed.
Pros: The hotel's location is excellent. It's right next to Heroes' Square, making it very convenient to walk to all the main attractions!
Two of the main issues faced with the hotel was that 1. the room type did not match photos online 2. housekeeping wasn't prompt. I had booked a balcony room as photos on the booking site showed balconies with street views. However, the ”balcony” of my assigned room was an outdoor area surrounded by walls, akin to a walled-in service yard. To label these rooms as balcony rooms gives guests the wrong expectations - these should be a separate category of rooms with ”restricted view” outdoor areas, and lower rate than actual balcony rooms with views.
On my second day, I spent the morning out sightseeing and returned to my room in the afternoon to take a break, only to find my room still unmade. I had to call reception to check that the hotel did indeed provide daily housekeeping and to request for my room to be made. At night, I found that my used bath towel had been removed but no new bath towel was given as a replacement. When I checked out, the receptionist did not remember to give back the cash deposit (a 100rm was taken at check-in). I had already walked away, and then returned to ask for the deposit back. These cumulative lapses affected the experience - which was a pity as the hotel itself was a very nice Peranakan-style building with artistic touches in the public areas. There were some nice gestures such as coins to exchange for welcome drinks, towels folded into animal shapes, and durian rice cakes left in the room. But I would much rather have basic expectations met first, like a room that matched, and consistent housekeeping.

UUmmi TravellerMITC Hotel Melaka offers a comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, although slightly small. It is suitable for solo travellers or short stays. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient, especially for those attending events at MITC. Overall, it’s a decent choice for business trips or solo travel in Melaka.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located near the toll, making it easy to access. It is an older property, and the furniture reflects that, but it is still functional. Cleanliness is maintained at a moderate level. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, which adds to the overall experience. The highlight of the stay is the FunPlay water park—kids absolutely loved it and had a fantastic time. The breakfast spread is impressive, with a wide variety of options to choose from.Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would likely visit again.
XXue EnOverall, the stay was quite pleasant. The room was comfortable and cozy, and it was nice to have YouTube available on the TV.
However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The remote control had no battery, which made it inconvenient to use. The sink was clogged and drained very slowly. Also, there was some trash left inside the fridge, so cleanliness could be improved a little more.
AAnonymous UserIt’s a spontaneous trip that we booked the room before we check google reviews. Yet we are aware of the different way of check in.
Apparently it’s under awanjiwa management of the *air-bnb* style of room which is the same hotel as The pines.
First,
If there is choice i may direct book frm the pines , we tried once under the shore & the swiss garden same thing yet also unforgettable trip 😅
I would say hotel charge the prices will assure give the best services maybe .
We consider lucky that awanjiwa person in charge is nice and responsible. We got some hicups on the check in and got settle to change another room as u can see frm photos the disaster of the first room we got i told the PIC only the bed and the sink is clean others is all dusty 😵💫
We got changed to another better condition rooms also with some stain on the table n cupboard so i had to clean myself before place anything in.
Its not that bad tho, but i would say im not an airbnb guest . 😅 and its feel really weird when u stay in hotel but its like so weird u cant park in the same unit and u just dont feel u are away for a trip as the place u check in like ur neighbor home kind of feel .
AabdulmukmiinA proper hotel with its own parking compund. The hotel is quite new, with sufficient facilities like swimming pool and gym area. The room is spacious and complete with the basic toiletries. The aircond was good and cleanliness of the whole room is average. The only small problem with my room was the shower area. There's some sort of blockage with the drain but overall the shower experience was good with steady strong current flow. Overall, this hotel is very well worth the price of slightly above RM100.
