"It is located right next to Hualien Train Station, but it is the West Exit instead of the Main Exit. You need to walk pass a pedestrian bridge located inside Hualien Station to get to this exit. The hotel itself is very clean and cozy. It has quite a few convenient stores nearby, and it also provides free snacks and fruit for customers. One thing to take note is, the hotel door is not a magnetic lock, instead it is a conventional key lock. So don’t expect the door to lock by itself when you go out. But this might sometimes be a plus point because you don’t need to be worried about the situation where you being locked outside and forgot to bring your room key."

"The hotel's promotional material stated that ice cream was available 24/7. If there was an issue preventing this, they should have updated their advertising and politely informed guests, instead of having staff speak to guests like they were criminals, saying, '...it's not time for free ice cream yet...' This left a very bad impression."

"So happy to see Hualian Charming Hotel as I walked out of Hualian Train Station, and the main bus stop is between the two buildings. Despite its proximity it is surprisingly quiet. Superb location for intercity travelling plus exploring the city by bus and to Taroko. Lots of eateries, souvenir shops and Family Mart and 7 Eleven. Can't ask for more. Hot and cold breakfast has meat and vegetarian selections, coffees and teas, and salads. No fuss check in and out, complimentary biscuits and hot drinks in the lobby until 8.00 PM. Rooms are spacious and clean, good range of shampoo and shower gel; can't ask for more."

"Had a very underwhelming experience for the money that we paid for this hotel. Decor was very outdated (i.e. 2000s), which was understandable as this is an old hotel. Service staff was quite rude when we asked for directions and recommendations for food and things to see around the area. Do note that the carpark is very small and there are no parking lots surrounding the area. When we checked in, the carpark attendant told us that their carpark lot was at full capacity."

"Lakeshore Hotel Hualien Taroko has three buildings, which can be a bit confusing, but the staff were all very polite and patiently explained everything. The breakfast in the restaurant was abundant, delicious, and offered a wide and refined selection. I didn't realize when booking that breakfast wasn't included, so I added it for 500 per person, which I felt was well worth it. The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. They also provided complimentary afternoon tea snacks. The surrounding environment is natural and spacious, and you can walk to the beach in just a short while. Overall, I was very satisfied."

"This hotel is located right next to Hualien train station and the transfer station. It offers free underground parking and a large outdoor parking lot, as well as free washing machines and dryers. The breakfast is also great, definitely enough to fill you up. The rooms are spacious, the beds are large, and the bathrooms have separate wet and dry areas with bidet toilets. Although it's an older hotel, it has been renovated, showing the hotel's dedication. Most importantly, the price is very reasonable, making it highly recommended."

"Stayed at this hotel recently. The place is generally clean and the location is convenient. However, there are a couple of concerns. The metal fixtures around the property were noticeably rusty, which made the overall maintenance feel lacking. In addition, there’s no key card access required for lifts to individual floors, which raises some security concerns. Overall, an average stay, but both maintenance and security could be improved."

"We stayed here for 2 nights and this was a lovely hotel. We enjoyed the queen bed, view out to the beautiful hotel grounds, breakfast and newly renovated bathrooms. You can also rent a bike for 2 hours for NTD100, which we did to cycle to the beach. There is also a free shuttle to the train station and back. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant. There were lots of other amenities which didn't get a chance to try. Bear in mind that you'll need a taxi to get into Hualien town which is a ten minute drive and around NTD150-180 one way. There is no Uber in Hualien."
