Cheap Hotels in Glasgow

"The room was a bit small, and the cleanliness was okay, but there were some marks on the sheets. They might have been clean marks, but it still bothered me a bit. I requested a room near the elevator, and it was literally right next to it, haha! The hotel is actually quite small, so everything is close by anyway. The service was excellent. My English isn't great, but the front desk lady and guy were both incredibly patient. The lady even used a translation app to tell me what she wanted to say. In the afternoon, I wanted to visit the museum, but my room wasn't ready yet. The lady proactively offered to store my luggage so I could go to the museum first and check in later. When I did check in, she also helped me with my luggage. Their attitude was very friendly throughout. The guy at the restaurant was also super friendly; he recommended the hot chocolate, which was indeed delicious and one of the few things I can praise about an English breakfast. He also noticed I was Chinese and proactively said ”Nihao” and ”Xie Xie,” which was very kind."

"I had a fantastic stay at Clayton Hotel Glasgow. The hotel is modern, spotless, and perfectly located within walking distance of Glasgow Central Station, shopping streets, and many popular attractions. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, making for a very relaxing stay."

"The room is quite basic, typical of an economy hotel. However, the surrounding area has a lot to offer, including supermarkets, various restaurants, a cinema, and even a bowling alley. It's about a 1-1.5 kilometer walk to the city center, and there are also buses available."

"The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. It's a bit tired though. Just little stuff like the door sticking, gaps in the laminate floor, cheap shower head with low pressure. No Aircon although they supplied a small desk fan. Worst pillows I've had in a hotel in an age. Breakfast was fine. Nod to being Scottish with potato scones instead of hash browns. About half an hour to walk into the city centre. On good bus route. It was alright. We'd stay again as it was one of the cheapest city centre hotels we could find. Suited us as we were only there for 2 nights."

"The hotel is very close to SEC and right next to Exhibition Station, making it super convenient to take the train to Edinburgh and Ayr. The breakfast selection is great, with a good variety of vegetables and fruits (which is rare to find), many types of coffee, delicious juices, and a wide assortment of bread. The room was cleaned daily and kept very neat and tidy. You can even see the University of Glasgow right outside the window."

"I stayed for 1 night, The room was spacious and clean, and the shower was great. We wouldn't recommend the breakfast as it was buffet style so we didn't know how long it was sitting out for. Also quite tasteless. The hotel is lovely and quite central, staff friendly."

"Didnt quote understand the idea of not giving two keys to a couple and then having it back whenever leaving. They even took my card details on arrival, which is fine. There was no label to hang on the door to prevent them from cleaning. The next morning when we came back from a quick tour, toilets towels looked changed. That felt kind of sneaky. We should have been told what to expect. And the mirrors position were quite odd in the toilet and the room. The staff was lovely and the location was useful tho. I loved the fried egg breakfast! Ohh and the kettle needed cleaning!"

"Amazing view of the city! Requested for a high floor and thankfully was given one, front reception was friendly and informative. Location was great! Just few minutes away from the railway station and in the middle of many foods and cafes"

"Has all the basics, perfect for a solo traveller. Small compact room with double bed. Great location in the heart of Glasgow, perfect for walking around and near to train stations to visit other places. No wardrobe, limited hanging space on the wall, so not great for long stays."

"Stayed here for one night and had a great experience. The hotel is in a perfect location, just a few minutes’ walk from Glasgow Central Station, making it very convenient for travelling around the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet despite being so close to the station. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and check-in was quick and easy. I only stayed for a short time, but everything was exactly what I needed. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Glasgow."
