Cheap Hotels in Sapa

"For the first two days, the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Although there wasn't a scenic view, just looking at other buildings, it was acceptable overall. However, I did notice a lot of fingerprints on the door. On the third day, the room suddenly started making a humming noise. I called the front desk, and they sent someone up to investigate. It turned out to be a faulty water pump upstairs that needed repair, and they asked us to change rooms, apologizing for the inconvenience. They offered three rooms to choose from; one was right by the elevator, which I definitely wouldn't take. The other two rooms were larger, so we moved from 402 to 418. The hotel staff completely failed to inform me that the bar downstairs would play loud music non-stop throughout the night. I later discovered how incredibly noisy it was and called the front desk to complain. To my surprise, the front desk responded, 'I don't know what you can do.' We were completely unable to sleep that entire night. Furthermore, in room 418, the shower only had hot water, no cold water at all. The hot water nearly scalded my skin while showering. This experience completely changed my perception of this hotel's service – it was extremely poor. The buffet food quality was average. Only the scrambled eggs and noodle soup were acceptable; other dishes weren't hot enough and tasted mediocre. The hotel's location is near Sun Plaza, which is close to the city center. There is also a gym room available."

"We stayed here for two nights. I really appreciated that they allowed us to check in early at 12 PM. We went straight to Fansipan after arriving in Sapa and my partner was not feeling well and had a very high fever. Being able to rest earlier was a big help. The hotel had some cleanliness issues, though. When we arrived, the floors were still a little wet from cleaning, and unfortunately the bathroom smelled really bad. I also saw a few cockroaches during our stay. My partner was quite sick throughout our stay, although of course I cannot say that this was related to the hotel. On the positive side, the breakfast was really good, and the mountain view from our room was definitely the highlight. The room was also affordable. Overall, I would still recommend it if you are looking for a budget-friendly place and you plan to spend most of your time outside exploring Sapa. Definitely get the room with the mountain view and include breakfast,those were worth it for us."

"A truly worthy hotel with breathtaking views from the balcony. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were responsive. Minor remarks: 1. The air conditioning in the room was old and couldn't lower the temperature below 23.4 degrees, rattling like a revving truck. It was unpleasant at night, but saved by the fact that Sapa generally doesn't have a scorching climate, so it was manageable. 2. The bidet shower was leaking. I'd like to specifically highlight the very decent spa, even though the prices are a bit steep. The hot stone massage by local therapists was excellent; my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel restaurant is also very pleasant. Again, prices are a bit high, but the portions are generous and tasty, and breakfast is very good in terms of both variety and quality. The hotel is located a bit off the main town, and although it's only a 5-minute walk to nice dining spots, there's a slight lack of regular grocery stores nearby. Otherwise, I highly recommend the hotel, especially in the context of Sapa – watching the mountains and sunset from the balcony of this hotel is simply magnificent."

"Can I first mention the excellent Mai Anh Giang at reception who made my trip so memorable. Not only did she suggest things to do, she even let me try the local alcohol! I enjoyed swimming at night here and the view is awesome. Unfortunately, there are no local shops nearby. So if you are half working/travelling like I was. You kind of need to go into town which is overpriced and actually lacking in basic stuff. Another suggestion; at night it’s great to chill on the roof, but they don’t do cocktails. Just a small thing!"

"The photo opportunities here were absolutely fantastic. I was also pleasantly surprised by how delicious the breakfast was. Being able to order your own ham, and especially having fresh honey dripping from the comb that you can help yourself to, made me feel like Winnie the Pooh – it was so much fun. The entire hotel felt like a castle, and it was wonderfully clean and lovely. Plus, it's directly connected to the train station, which is a great convenience for getting to the station quickly."

"The room was decent, a bit old-fashioned, but offered a nice view outside. In the morning, you could enjoy breakfast on the cafeteria balcony, taking in the beautiful scenery – very pleasant."

"The night front desk staff's English wasn't very good, and it took a lot of effort to communicate, which was really exhausting. Both male receptionists had some communication issues. Initially, they said the hotel was full and I couldn't check in early. Then they asked how much I was willing to pay for an early check-in. I told them a price, which they didn't accept, and then one walked off to handle breakfast, leaving me stranded for about half an hour. After another staff member came on duty, I paid the fee and was told the room needed to be checked out by 12 PM. I quickly went up to freshen up and pack, only to be told at 12 PM, after checking into my pre-booked room, that the room I was already in *was* my booked room and I didn't need to check out... It was a long and confusing ordeal until a female staff member finally explained everything clearly, making me realize it was indeed my reserved room all along. The breakfast was mediocre, and the fruit wasn't fresh. Besides the great location, everything else was just average. I'm actually not even sure if the room I stayed in was the room type I booked, because there was no garden view, only a wall... I suspect they might have given me a cheaper room type, but there's no way to know for sure."

"Excellent hotel, a bit outside the center but very convenient. Rooms are clean and even have bathrobes. Good water pressure in the shower. Breakfasts are delicious, we paid an extra 120,000 VND on site for them. The staff are very friendly, helpful with information, and even gave us a small bag with water and sweets when we checked out."

"We stayed in a bungalow with a valley view (panoramic view) and really liked the hotel. You can see mountains and rice paddies from the windows, if it's not foggy. The bungalows are beautifully made, and the staff did a great job cleaning, leaving little treats like cookies and stories every day. The spa wasn't particularly impressive. The room had everything we needed, and we especially loved the heated bed. You can really get a feel for the atmosphere of Sapa at this hotel, as it's not in the city center, so it's peaceful. In the mornings, roosters crow and birds sing. It's about a 2.5 km taxi ride from the center to the hotel, costing around 50 dong. Breakfasts were varied."

"I had a great stay at Azure Sapa Hotel overall. The staff were polite and accommodating, and the hotel offers convenient services such as laundry and luggage storage. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and while the breakfast selection was fairly basic, it was filling. The location was excellent. It was close to the town center and the Fansipan station, but the area was still quiet. There were plenty of nearby coffee shops and restaurants with beautiful mountain views, as well as a massage place directly across from the hotel. My room had large windows with a great view, and the views from the hotel restaurant were even more impressive. The only downside was that my room was directly underneath the restaurant, so I could frequently hear chairs scraping across the floor, which became a little annoying. I would still stay here again, but next time I would request a room with better soundproofing or one that is not directly below the restaurant."
