The front desk service of the hotel is warm and thoughtful, and the problems raised can be solved with heart. The overall environment is warm and quiet, and the rooms are clean and tidy. Will choose again next time. The environment is very good, and the surrounding air is very good

The executive room is exceptionally clean. It smells good too. Location is convenient as well only 5 mins from MTR station. It has a laundry room on the 2nd floor which free of charge. But you will need to buy detergent at front desk or prepared by yourself. Highly recommended!

Sohotel has in its location its major and probably only strong point. The hotel is located at a walking distance of all major locations around Central HK and that was the only reason that took me to choose it. The staff is nice but the hotel is really small and with very short amenities. If it was a hotel in the range of 700-800hkd it would be acceptable but prices charged are more than double of this so, I can say that although the choice was a conscientious one it feels like we are being deceived. Additionally I was unlucky to have fell in a room where was not possible to rest all night as next door was occupied by what seemed like a porn live streamer that spent all night moaning and screaming but that’s just unlucky not a hotel problem. Bed is comfortable.

Hotel Review: Casa Hotel, Hong Kong I recently stayed at Casa Hotel in Hong Kong and had a pleasant experience. The location in Yau Ma Tei is fantastic, close to public transportation and local attractions. The rooms are compact but well-maintained, offering all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. Although the breakfast options were limited, the convenience of nearby eateries made up for it. Overall, Casa Hotel provides good value for money for travelers looking for a comfortable stay in the heart of the city.

Location is perfect. However, the room size and the space in corridor are just so so. Bed is big but the toilet area is just too small and water split everywhere after washing faces or brushing teeth. Also the room size is very small n difficult to open a 28 inch luggage properly. In addition, the hygiene standard is also so so, I found stains on the towels n bedsheets

We had a group of six and did multiple bookings to get rooms with two beds and some with one bed. Everyone enjoyed their stay. The rooms are clean, a great size for 2 people and the ac worked well, the staff were very kind and a little perk was that the mini fridges in each room worked remarkably well. The beds are firm which some of us loved. The location was perfect for us! Close to markets, shopping and transit. We checked off everything we wanted to do (dim sum, star ferry, day/night markets) with ease because of the great location. Would be happy to book a stay here again!

Was very happy to be given my room at 9am, very pleasantly surprised as I was expecting to leave my bag & return later to check-in. While the hotel is old & worn, my room was clean. No amenities like slippers, toiletries; so will bear that in mind next time. But the location was my main objective: walking distance to Ocean Terminal.  So for an overnight stay, with no fuss & fanciness, it suited my agenda.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong was exceptional! The highlight was the warm welcome from Ms. Bobo YIP at Reception and another wonderful lady staff member on the 9th floor. Hong Kong Travel Tips - Everything You Must Know

You may think about viewing glittering skyscrapers from Victoria Peak, satiating your hunger with local dim-sum, or taking a cable car for big Buddha among the best nature view of the island. Well, lucky for you guys! You only need a passport that's valid for at least one month after your planned stay in Hong Kong. Visa is not required.

In case you run into trouble with the traffic of the mega city, here follows a detailed guide on getting to and around Hong Kong.

Getting to Hong Kong

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), located on Chek Lap Kok Island, is the city’s main gateway. From the airport, you can easily reach the city center via the Airport Express train or airport buses, which is about 35 kilometers from the city center. The Airport Express train is the fastest way to reach the city center, taking about 24 minutes to reach Hong Kong Station. Tickets cost around HK$115 ($15) one-way, and the train offers free Wi-Fi and charging stations.

Staying near HKG is convenient for travelers with early flights or layovers. We've carefully prepared three hotels close to HKG with free airport transfer:

HotelLocationDistance from HKGAmenities
Regala Skycity Hotel Chek Lap Kok 1.2 milesFree Airport Shuttle Pick-up/Drop-off; Free Wifi; Free Swimming pool

The Silveri Hong Kong-MGalleryTung Chung 3.5 milesFree Airport Shuttle Pick-up/Drop-off; Free Wi-Fi; Gym

Click to find hotels near HKG providing free airport transfer

For those who prefer not to stay near the airport or have plenty of time to explore the city after landing, they can choose from airport express, bus or taxi.

MTR (Mass Transit Railway): Ticket Price is HK$4–$50 ($0.50–$6.50), depending on distance. The MTR is Hong Kong’s backbone, covering almost every corner of the city. It’s fast, clean, and reliable, making it the best way to explore major attractions. You always know where you are because the maps light up on every stop. How about getting an Octopus Card for easy travel and small discounts?

Trams (Ding Ding): HK$2.60 ($0.33) flat rate for fare. Hop on one of Hong Kong’s iconic double-decker trams for a scenic ride through Hong Kong Island. These “Ding Ding” trams offer a charming and affordable way to explore the beauty of the city.

Star Ferry: HK$2–$3 ($0.25–$0.40) for fare. For breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour, take the Star Ferry between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. This short but scenic ride is a must-try for any visitor.

Buses: A more budget-friendly option is the Cityflyer airport buses, which serve various parts of Hong Kong. Fares range from HK$33–$55 ($4–$7), depending on your destination.

Taxis & Ride-Hailing Apps: Taxis is affordable and convenient with color-coded by region. Remember always request a receipt to avoid disputes. Grab is unavailable here, but Uber operates in Hong Kong and offers an alternative to traditional taxis.

Best Areas to Stay in Hong Kong

If you're unsure where to stay, check out Tsim Sha Tsui or Central.

For first-time visitors, Tsim Sha Tsui is a solid pick. It’s packed with shopping malls, street markets, and some of the best harbor views in the city. Plus, you’ll be right next to the Star Ferry and MTR, making it super convenient to explore.

If you’re into a more upscale and fast-paced vibe, Central is the way to go. Skyscrapers, rooftop bars, and high-end shopping set the tone here. But if you'd rather soak in a more relaxed side of the city, Causeway Bay is a great alternative. With its mix of local boutiques, trendy cafés, and Victoria Park nearby, it gives you a bit of everything.

SShawn TravelsOne of the best location hotels I have stayed in HK. Walking distances to major train lines, super easy access to MOKO Mall, Mong Kok East shopping and great eateries. The room is spacious, staff friendly and all daily essentials for comfortable hotel stay are included. It will be great if the toilet bowl included a bidet but it's just something great to have. Will certainly opt to stay here again in my next visit to HK with family or friends!

EEdiGThe hotel positions itself as a 4-star establishment, but it falls short of that mark. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Location: The location is excellent, if you don't mind a steep uphill walk. However, the entire island is built on different levels, which isn't a negative but rather a positive – a daily workout! There's a bus stop right by the hotel, making it easy to reach the metro instead of walking up and down, straining your leg muscles. Next door is a botanical and zoological garden where you can take a stroll. By the way, entry is free. A 10-minute walk down the hill leads to the cable car ”tram” stop for a trip to Victoria Peak. Check-in: Check-in was fast, but a USD 300 deposit is required, which isn't mentioned on either the trip.com website or the hotel's website. If you need an adapter for your electronic devices, ask for one right away – the receptionist won't offer it. Room: The room is relatively clean, though I did find some hair in the kitchen and on the bedding. For Hong Kong, the room is spacious, but there's nowhere to store a suitcase. You can set the temperature on the air conditioner, but it doesn't work. It only blows cold air, making the room humid. Kitchen: The kitchen is minimally equipped, but it's sufficient. However, upon check-in, they warn you that the stove can only be used for reheating food, not cooking, as the fire alarm system is very sensitive and might activate the siren due to hot steam. You must turn on the exhaust fan to full power and the air conditioner to avoid triggering the alarm. Why bother having a kitchen at all? Bathroom: The same situation as with the kitchen – you need to close the door and turn on the air conditioner at full power while showering to avoid the fire alarm being triggered by steam from the bathroom. The shower hose started leaking on the second day of my stay. It was replaced with a new one, which also leaked. When the technician replaced the hose, did he check if the equipment was working properly? I doubt it. Breakfast: Breakfast is only served from a menu, which is quite limited. It's delicious, but not diverse. Is this the service you'd expect from a 4-star hotel? The breakfast organization is chaotic – staff running around and clanging dishes. Two slow coffee machines and one toaster keep guests waiting in line. By the way, there are plastic mugs for tea and coffee. The only fruit options are two types of apples – red and green. Service: The service is polite, but I'd say it's ”on demand.” You need to ask for shampoo, shower gel, and dishwashing liquid to be refilled. The housekeeping, for some reason, doesn't notice the need to replenish hygiene products in the bathroom and kitchen. Environmentalism: As in all of Hong Kong, they no longer provide water in plastic bottles. That's good, but come up with an alternative so guests don't have to go to the store for water. In my opinion, this environmental concern is simply an opportunity to reduce service costs while maintaining high accommodation prices. Speaking of breakfast again, the jam and butter are provided in small plastic containers, just like on airplanes. Is this really about caring for the environment? Conclusion: Overall, it's a good choice if you're not bothered by the minor service inconsistencies and if you don't have high expectations for a 4-star hotel. If you're visiting Hong Kong, I'd recommend Two MacDonell Road.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to the airport. If you take the AirPort Express train to the Asia World Expo station, it’s maybe 3-5 minutes away by feet - it’s actually directly connected to the station so you don’t even have to go outside! They provide a shuttle to the airport every 15 minutes which is great. I think the ride lasts maybe 5 minutes? It’s very short, the airport is genuinely super close. The staff is very helpful. According to Hong Kong law, the hotels cannot distribute plastic water bottles so instead, each room gets a glass bottle that you can go refill whenever. There are several stations on each floor to do this. I thought this was a really good system. They have a bar with a very nice atmosphere. Many people are sitting there waiting for their late flights and the vibe was really good! It’s somewhat of a basic business hotel. It was nice and clean but I felt like it was nothing extra - for this reason, I thought the price was way too high. This was my only problem. However, we also need to remember that this is Hong Kong, so it won’t be cheap.

FFeefa MLocation wise very good. Only 2 minutes walk from Islamic Canteen and Mosque. When we booked we didn’t know it’ll be that near so easy for us to find halal food and pray as well. Also about 10 minutes walk to Wan Chai Station. Our room is not very spacious however the price is okay for the room that fits our family of 4 as we chose family room. We mainly took public transport to go everywhere - Disneyland (40 mnt) , Ocean Park ( 20 minutes) , Victoria Peak + Peak Trams ( 25 minutes), ferry terminal to Macau only 10 minutes away and airport around 45 mnt to 1 hr depending on your exchange time. Overall we are satisfied with the hotel. As we will not be spending time inside the room so the price was okay for us with comfortable place to sleep.

MManta1Resort is an inflated term. Pool closed, spa closed, rooms are upstairs but there is no elevator so be ready to carry your bags. Small washer and dryer in the sauna room, outdated fitness equipment. Weird 'token' system for using the 'resort' things like washer or sauna.Interesting little game area downstairs, a couple kayaks and bikes to rent. Few real amenities that would make this a ”resort”. It's a decent hotel. The rooms are clean but the windows don't open so it gets very stuffy, the fridge froze everything and the bathroom is tiny and dated. My view was gross, so I kept the shade down. When the tide is out there is a beach, it is close to the ferry pier and a very pretty view when the construction is not going. The sun rises right in front of the hotel! Restaurant has a large menu for dinner, but only one choice for breakfast (set meal or nothing). What saves this place is the staff! They are wonderful, lovely people!
