"Our hotel stay was excellent! The front desk service was top-notch. They even upgraded our reserved executive king room. The sofa in the room was very comfortable, and the space was quite large. All the amenities were well-equipped, and the bathrobe was especially cozy. The guide they provided upon check-in was also super comprehensive, featuring lots of Teochew specialty foods. "Finally, Shantou has a decent five-star hotel! 😂 When I visited in 2023, the best hotel was the Sheraton, but it was really old and made my overall experience in Shantou quite mediocre. Honestly, it's because of a beautiful hotel like this that I feel inspired to visit. Hahaha... People with high hotel standards might choose a city specifically for a certain hotel. The Shantou Marriott gives me exactly that feeling. Shantou has a lot of amazing food, but most of it is found in street-side stalls or local open-air restaurants, which are very down-to-earth. While authentic delicious food is everywhere, the dining environments can be a bit basic, to be honest, no offense intended. There's this incredible feeling of happiness when you return to the hotel lobby after sweating it out at a street stall or grabbing a snack in an alleyway. It truly feels like coming home, haha. I think people who prioritize accommodation might understand this feeling. This is hands down the best hotel in Shantou, hehe 😉 The hotel is in an excellent location in the new CBD, offering the best views! 👍 Unbeatable sea views, encompassing Shantou's most beautiful bay, the bridge, the pier, and some small islands. In my opinion, it offers the best scenery in Shantou, bar none. So, if you come to Shantou, you absolutely must stay at the Marriott; you won't regret it. Two nights are plenty. Although the executive lounge doesn't have a huge variety of food, what they do have is incredibly delicious. I ate two plates of mussels! The alcohol isn't top-shelf, but their special concoctions are addictive. The Gin & Tonic and 'Private Cuba' (I assume a specialty cocktail) were excellent 🥰 We spent two consecutive evenings there, enjoying drinks and the most beautiful night views of Shantou... It was truly relaxing! Both the sea view and city view rooms offer fantastic scenery. So don't overthink it; even the standard rooms are perfectly fine if you're on a tighter budget 🤌 because the lobby bar also has stunning views. You can sit down, have a drink, and enjoy the scenery. The hotel's service is absolutely outstanding. From the front desk to the lobby bar and even the security staff, they provide the best service quality in Shantou. I wholeheartedly give them a positive review for this! 👍 Honestly, the front desk staff was incredibly patient and even gave us a local food guide. For someone who's too lazy to plan, it felt incredibly thoughtful. It would be great if every hotel did this! 😋 I forgot to thank Carter from the front desk when I checked out 🤌. He was so patient and answered all my questions. He also shared a lot of authentic Shantou food recommendations with me. Big thumbs up to them for their hard work! "After doing some research, I picked this hotel because it has a pool and is near the food street. The location is indeed great, and there's an underground parking lot. It's an older star-rated hotel, and the value for money is decent. Within a one-kilometer radius, you can find all sorts of local specialties. Now, about the room – it's incredibly dated, almost beyond description, haha. Honestly, on the first day, I almost wanted to check out. There's no smart toilet, and the furniture and lighting make you feel like you've traveled back thirty years. The lobby even had a sewage smell sometimes. However, after staying for two days, I noticed that this whole district seems pretty old. Plus, the service was good, it was clean, and most importantly, it had a pool. So, given the hot weather, I decided not to bother looking for another place."

It truly lives up to its reputation as an established hotel, absolutely brilliant, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shantou. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transport links and plenty of amenities nearby. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, proactively helping with travel inquiries and making the check-in process efficient and smooth. The room was spacious and bright, with a modern and cozy design. The bedding and cleanliness met Hilton's usual high standards, especially the pillows – they were so comfortable I wanted to take them home! Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and the taste was great, perfect for starting a vibrant day. Overall, my experience was: meticulous service, well-maintained facilities, and accommodation that was excellent value for money. "Sheraton quality, naturally, goes without saying – the quality and location are both top-notch. What was particularly surprising was the triple-bed family room; it’s perfect for a family of three traveling together. When you have a child who's not quite small but not an adult yet, two rooms feel a bit insecure, but sleeping together is too cramped. Three beds are absolutely perfect! Everyone gets their space and can sleep soundly. The room is large, with a bathtub and a walk-in closet. Just a small suggestion: the hairdryer is really old-fashioned; it takes ages to dry your hair and you end up sweating from the heat. Maybe the hotel could consider upgrading to a Dyson or Leica? That’s what I wrote last night. After breakfast, I’m upgrading everything to five stars! I want to give this hotel a huge, booming shout-out! The breakfast was incredibly lavish – everything you could think of, and things you couldn't, were all there. The presentation was also beautiful, though the lighting was a bit dim, so the photos don't do it justice compared to real life. The pool is on the fifth floor, outdoors. With Shantou's weather, an outdoor pool is just unimaginably chill and gives a huge holiday vibe! So far, this trip is only one day in, and I already feel like it's been a perfect journey. "The room was pretty good and quiet. I drew the curtains and slept soundly until 9 AM. The breakfast was also nice, especially the pasta, which was delicious. I was a bit tired and didn't feel like going out, so I ordered takeout. A robot delivered it, which was very convenient. The hotel staff are all excellent; every front desk employee has a great attitude. 4. Sometimes when I'm too lazy to go out at night, I order takeout. There are many delicious options nearby, and the hotel's robot delivery is very prompt. I've stayed at many Atour hotels in different cities, and overall, the restaurant staff here are the best! A special shout-out to the chef who cooks the rice noodles and wontons – they make delicious wontons and are very kind. The auntie in the restaurant is also great; she'll even help brew coffee."

"Wow, this hotel was probably the biggest surprise of our trip! When we checked in, the front desk told us they could upgrade our room for free. I couldn't believe it – the room rate was already so affordable, and they actually offered a free upgrade! What an amazing hotel! Second, the location is truly excellent. It's right inside a small park, and it only takes 5 minutes to walk to the landmark attraction, Shantou Hotel. I'm so, so happy about that – it made sightseeing and taking photos incredibly convenient. I don't even need to mention things like the clean rooms and good soundproofing. The housekeeper proactively asked if we needed our room cleaned, and can you believe all the fizzy drinks in the mini-bar are free? Even though the hotel isn't huge, it's got everything you need. They have dedicated parking spaces, seven in total, and two of them even have charging stations! My goodness, it's like it was custom-made for me! All in all, the experience was fantastic. Everyone should stay here!!!!!"
