It was worse than the classic twin room we originally booked. There was a sofa, no coffee table, no desk and chair, and the service desk negotiated. "This English-style villa hotel has a fantastic location and ambiance. The large lawn in front of the hotel is conveniently located just down the road from the boat terminal and bus terminal. The lawn and the small garden in front are exclusive to the hotel. It's wonderful to sit on a chair and sip coffee on the lawn, with Lake Windermere just below. The lobby also has several lounges with a distinctly English feel. The front desk staff was very friendly and even helped us call a taxi to the train station for £8 upon check-out. The restaurant staff were especially helpful, offering excellent service regardless of the size of your order. This hotel is a great value for money. There's a historic elevator in the photo below."
