"This is a massive hotel with numerous hot spring baths. I heard it's the largest hot spring resort in all of Japan. Both the sulfur and acidic hot springs were incredibly relaxing, and you can even see the Jigokudani (Hell Valley) directly while you're soaking. Breakfast and dinner were both buffet-style and very plentiful."

"The traditional tatami room truly impressed us, but the highlight of our stay was the open-air private sulphur onsen in our room. It was incredibly therapeutic, and I absolutely loved the natural sulphur scent that filled the space—it made the experience feel authentic and deeply relaxing. A heartfelt shoutout to the staff for their exceptional hospitality. From the warm welcome upon arrival to assisting with our luggage and thoughtfully preparing our beds, every detail was handled with care. They were genuinely kind and attentive throughout our stay. Although the hotel is quite old, we appreciated it as part of its vintage charm. It feels like a place rich with history and stories, which adds a unique character you don’t often find in modern hotels. The 7-course kaiseki dinner completely blew us away. From the exquisite plating to the impeccable service, every dish reflected the chef’s dedication and craftsmanship. Even breakfast exceeded our expectations. While described as a buffet, the beautifully presented bento-style offerings along with the comforting soup-based dishes were both satisfying and delicious. Yes, the price is on the higher side, but it is absolutely worth every penny we spent."

"Check-in was smooth and the hotel staff were welcoming! The location is great and the hotel is within walking distances to most places that you would want to visit. There is also a convenience store nearby. However, one issue we had was that the tatami room was very warm. We stayed there on 10-11 May 2026 and we had a rather difficult time sleeping at night as the room was too warm for us. Unfortunately, they seem to only have heating in the room and we were not able to open the windows either. Otherwise, we enjoyed the stay!"

"This place is amazing and I really don't understand why it has such a low rating. Rooms may be a little small but are big enough for us plus 2 large packs. Beds and pillows are comfy, generous shower/toilet space, stylish yukata/obi.The onsen are great (including free access to the multitude of options across the road at the Takimotokan hotel). And the on-site bakery and cafe are fabulous. Close to attractions plus shops and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Free parking. Very reasonably priced too. Really enjoyed our 2 nights here. Would highly recommend."

"Stayed at Noboribetsu Sekisui Tei for a relaxing getaway and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel has a very traditional Japanese ryokan atmosphere, especially with the onsen facilities which were clean, spacious, and very relaxing after a long day of travelling. The location is convenient if you are visiting Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley) as it is only a short distance away. The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious, though some parts of the hotel do feel slightly dated. Staff were polite and helpful throughout the stay. The buffet breakfast and dinner had a decent variety of Japanese dishes and seafood, and the dining experience was enjoyable. One of the highlights was definitely the outdoor hot spring bath, especially during the colder weather. Very peaceful and calming experience. Overall, a good stay for anyone looking to experience a traditional onsen hotel in Noboribetsu with good service and relaxing hot springs."

"Perfect 10/10 The best hotel experience in my life. I love the service. The staff helped us to carry the luggage after checking our names at the entrance. To my surprise, he used a cloth to wipe our luggage. Our shoes were kept away as we fully experience the Japanese style of hotel with naked legs. The view from the room is really stunning and the in-room onsen is so relaxing. We spent our days in hotel from check in until check out because the views from our rooms are just amazing. The full course dinner was premium and mouth-watering. We really enjoyed the stay very much! Arigatou gozaimasu! If there is one thing to improve, hope staff can speed up the checkout process. For my case, i just need to return the keys but still need to wait unnecessarily for the previous customers to make payment at the checkout counter. I can just drop the keys though :) Thanks! I"

"We chose this onsen hotel for our trip to Noboribetsu. It's super convenient, right across from the Noboribetsu Bus Terminal once you get off the bus from Noboribetsu JR Station. We arrived quite early, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They stored our luggage, booked a private onsen for us in the evening, and even called a car to take us to the Bear Park. After our visit, we decided to walk back down, and it wasn't far from the onsen town at all. We had lunch in the onsen town before heading back to the hotel to check in. Although the hotel is a bit older, it's impeccably clean. In the afternoon, we explored Jigokudani (Hell Valley). We opted for the half-board option, and dinner was fantastic – a wide variety of seafood, steak, pasta, BBQ, pizza, and more! After dinner, we relaxed for a bit before enjoying the onsen. The night was very peaceful for sleeping. The breakfast the next day was also great, with the option to make your own seafood rice bowl. I'd definitely come back here again!"

For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"March 23, 2026 Three days in advance, I emailed the hotel to add king crab and steak to my booking. We had a great time at Date Jidaimura until just before closing, then took a cash-only bus to Noboribetsu Onsen Station. We arrived around 5:30 PM. Upon entering the lobby, we had to take off our shoes. The elderly gentleman at the front desk helped us check in and carried our luggage to the room, explaining the facilities along the way. We had dinner at 6:00 PM. We had to choose one dish from a few options, and we picked the local grilled fish. The fish meat was flaky white, very fragrant, and went perfectly with rice. The added steak was tender and springy, and the king crab legs had a slight briny taste, but the meat was very delicate. Coming here was mainly about soaking in the Noboribetsu hot springs and enjoying good food – a purely relaxing night. The next day, after checking out, we immediately caught the pre-booked direct Donan bus back to Sapporo. Before leaving, I bought a copper hammer charm from the Noboribetsu Onsen demon's hand at the hotel as a souvenir, haha. I also received a birthday card that the hotel had left for me in advance. It was a very satisfying hot spring birthday trip!"

This was our first family trip, and we stayed here for the first time. The building had a homey atmosphere and simple interior design. It was very conveniently located, with a Seicomart nearby and a Coop within walking distance, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. There was a table and chairs for outdoor BBQ. A BBQ set was provided, making preparation quick and easy, but it would be great if they also provided fans. We were able to buy other items nearby, but we struggled to find fans.🤣 We also couldn't find a charcoal pot, so it would be helpful if it were easier to locate. However, the mosquito coils, insect repellent items, and kitchen facilities were more comprehensive than we expected, making cleanup easy and showing great consideration. It's highly recommended for families. 😊 The parking lot is spacious, but please be careful if you have a large vehicle as the road is narrow. It's a great base for sightseeing around Shiraoi and Noboribetsu. ✨✨

When planning my first trip to Sapporo, I really wanted to include a hot spring experience. Naturally, Noboribetsu came to mind for hot springs, and that's how I found Hanaya while looking for a ryokan in the area. I'd seen reviews mentioning its location at the entrance of Noboribetsu made it a bit far, which wasn't an issue for us since we had a rental car. However, upon arrival, I realized it's not that far at all, and it's perfectly walkable unless it's extremely cold and snowy. The hot springs are separated for men and women, and the bath locations switch daily. Each gender's bath area has one indoor and one outdoor bath. Since the ryokan itself is small, if you time it right, you can often have the place to yourself. Maybe you'll encounter just one or two other guests? It's a genuine sulfur hot spring; remember to shower briefly before entering and keep towels and hair out of the water. You can't talk about a ryokan without mentioning kaiseki! We booked a stay for four people including dinner and breakfast, and dinner was kaiseki. It was served course by course, looked absolutely beautiful, and I found it incredibly delicious. For the price point, I was thoroughly satisfied. In the lobby, there are complimentary drinks available, including sake and beer, which you can enjoy as much as you like. Even though it's a small ryokan, they upgraded our room, and the staff were legendary for their kindness. It was a truly satisfying ryokan experience. I hope to visit again if I get the chance.

Excellent hotel. ◎ The location is super convenient, just a 2-minute walk from the Noboribetsu Onsen bus stop. ◎ The room was very spacious and well-designed, with a separate toilet, shower, and sink area, and plenty of storage space. ◎ The hotel itself has a bit of an older feel, but it's still very clean. ◎ The public bath (onsen) was incredibly relaxing, especially the outdoor sulfur spring bath. ◎ What's truly rare for the Noboribetsu Onsen area is that we didn't see any tour groups here, making it very quiet and perfect for those looking to relax and unwind.

The hostel is very close by, right outside the station. The front desk staff are friendly, fluent in English, and will show you around and help you upstairs to your bed. Self-check-in is not available, so please check in before 9 PM! The first floor is a common area with a kitchen, washing machine, shoe cabinet, and seating area. The second floor has a female room, a mixed-gender room, and separate male and female toilets. You must remove your shoes before going upstairs, so the room is very clean! The wooden floors in the room look quite cozy, but they may be a bit old and noisy when walking. You can also hear noise from the next room while sleeping, but free earplugs are provided. There's only one power outlet by the bed, so an extension cord is recommended. The hallway is small, so it's not recommended to bring suitcases; backpacks may have to be placed on the bed. Breakfast is provided: thick toast, various jams, coffee, fresh milk, and cereal. 👍🏻 Luggage storage is free; the front desk staff will arrange for you to store your luggage. 👍🏻

Hotel Name: 登別Boudoir Noguchi Noboribetsu ”Love our stay.” The room was impeccably clean, serene, and beautifully appointed, providing the perfect traditional atmosphere. The highlight, beyond the relaxing onsen itself, was the incredible food—each meal was a masterpiece of kaiseki cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients. The attention to detail and gracious service made our stay truly special. We left feeling completely rejuvenated and can't wait to return.” (”The in room Onsen and the outdoor bath with a view of the garden was heavenly.”). The location is very convenient, as it is right next to the bus station. The buffet food is excellent, and there is a free-flow of alcohol. The meals are satisfying. However, I was assigned a room on the 10th floor, and the room condition is really old and worn out and not really pleasant. Better only choose the room types that are renovated.

I lived in Noboribetsu and this atrium, and I still prefer this one. If I go to Noboribetsu next time, I will stay there again. On the mountain Noboribetsu, pick-up service at 2:00 and 4:00 pm (pick-up at JR station) is available after booking with the hotel. The hotel is good, just don't like their public slippers (woven straw uppers). If you don't wear socks, you will feel a little sticky, but so is the flower atrium. The open-air style of the house is very good. It is relatively large. You can take a look at the snow on the pine trees while soaking in the hot spring. It feels very natural and much stronger than the open-air style of the flower atrium. I ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel, but it was really bad. This may be my own problem. I am not used to eating. The ice cream at the kiosk downstairs is delicious, you buy it every day, and it's easy to buy water. There is a small park in front of the hotel, the snow is very thick, you can play with snow, and there is no one. It is clean and very comfortable. A 15-minute walk from the hotel is the Noboribetsu ski resort. It is very convenient to play snow and there are very few people. In short, it is quite satisfactory.
